PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILMINGTON OH
1229 PM EDT MON MAY 12 2003:

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON SURVEYED THE DAMAGE TO THE
NORTHEAST OF LYNCHBURG IN HIGHLAND COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST OHIO.

THE TYPE AND PATH OF THE DAMAGE IS CONSISTENT WITH STRAIGHT-LINE WINDS.
THE MOST IMPRESSIVE DAMAGE WAS A ROOF BLOWN OFF A MOBILE HOME AND
SEVERAL 2 FOOT IN DIAMETER TREES SNAPPED NEAR THE BASE OF THE TRUNK
ON DADE ROAD.  

THE PEAK WIND GUST ASSOCIATED WITH THE DAMAGE IS
ESTIMATED TO BE AROUND 70 MPH.
