Snow A low pressure system moved across the Tennessee Valley during the day of Thursday, January 20th. Widespread snow developed across the region during the morning hours and continued through the afternoon. The snow became heavy at times during the afternoon and early evening hours. The snow then tapered off from west to east across the area during the mid to late evening hours. Storm total snow amounts were generally in the 4 to 6 inch range along the Interstate 71 corridor.
