Snow and Ice Event


A surface low developed over the Central Plains on February 19th which strengthened as it accelerated northeast into the Ohio Valley. Strong upper level winds were in place ahead of the system with broad ascent along the warm front that eventually lifted north. A wintery mix of precipitation occurred with more ice and rain toward the south and mainly snow to the north.
