Details:

  1. 5/14/1961:  This tornado touched down 10 miles east of Macomb, then moved northeast across Fulton, northwest Peoria, and Stark Counties..
  2. 5/28/1962:  Touched down east of Edelstein.
  3. 9/14/1965:  This tornado tracked 5 miles across the northwest portion of the city of Peoria.  Major damage occurred to the Norwood Grade School, where its roof was removed, along with a wall.  Three homes were destroyed, including one made of brick.  Several other buildings had damage to roofs and walls.
  4. 3/31/1973:  One barn was destroyed, and windows in nearby buildings flexed from the wind strength. 
  5. 6/18/1974:  Brief touchdown on the northeast side of Peoria, with no damage reported. 
  6. 6/29/1976:  This tornado touched down 1 mile northwest of Kickapoo, and moved northeast before lifting 2 miles southeast of Dunlap.  Two homes and an entire farm was destroyed.
  7. 5/27/1981:  Tracked for 1/2 mile in an open field north of Brimfield, causing no damage.
  8. 7/25/1985:  Touched down 2 miles southwest and 1 mile west of Princeville, travelling 2 miles.  Four farms were damaged, and the top half of a house was severely damaged as well.  A barn and storage shed were destroyed, killing 8 horses and injuring 18 others.
  9. 5/13/1995:  Touched down 1 mile west of Princeville and was on the ground for 7 miles, lifting near Edelstein.  Two homes and several outbuildings were destroyed, and the country club near Edelstein sustained major roof damage.
  10. 4/19/1996:  This tornado moved across the south side of Brimfield during its 4 mile path.  Minor damage occurred in Brimfield, and several trees were damage at Jubilee State Park.
  11. 6/6/1996:  Touched down in the Brookview Estates subdivision near Mossville, causing mainly tree damage.
  12. 4/30/1997:  This tornado originally touched down near Fairview, in northeast Fulton County, and moved across southeast Knox County before entering Peoria County.  The greatest damage in Peoria County occurred 4 miles northwest of Brimfield, ripping off the top floor of a split level home.
  13. 4/7/1998:  Brief touchdown in an open field 3 miles west of Hanna City.
  14. 7/8/2009:  Brief touchdown in an open field about 2 miles northwest of Glasford.
  15. 5/25/2010:  A landspout tornado developed in an open field 2 miles northwest of Laura, and slowly moved west-northwest for 1 mile before dissipating.
  16. 6/5/2010:  This strong tornado touched down in Knox County near Yates City, then crossed into Peoria County 1.1 miles west of Elmwood, and moved through Elmwood before dissipating 1 mile east of town.  Approximately $85 million damage occurred in Elmwood, with considerable structural damage to 10 homes, 30 businesses, and nearly 2 dozen vehicles. 
  17. 6/5/2010:  After the previous tornado in Elmwood lifted, another one touched down about 2.5 miles east of Elmwood, and continued eastward about 5 miles.  This tornado blew down numerous trees and power lines, and caused some damage to a home, shed, and grain bin.
  18. 6/5/2010:  This tornado touched down 4 miles west-southwest of Kickapoo, and traveled 4 miles before lifting just north of Edwards.  Large trees were blown down, two of which landed on homes and causing considerable roof damage.  A large barn was also destroyed.
  19. 6/5/2010:  This tornado touched down 6.5 miles northwest of downtown Peoria, and caused damage in the Lynnhurst subdivision of Peoria.  It was on the ground for 2 miles.
  20. 11/17/2013:  This tornado touched down about 4 miles east-northeast of Mapleton, and crossed the Illinois River before causing most of its damage in Pekin.  Several trees and power poles were damaged before the river crossing.
  21. 4/9/2015:  Brief touchdown in an open field 3.1 miles east-northeast of Dunlap.
  22. 3/15/2016:  This strong tornado touched down 2 miles northwest of Trivoli, and was on the ground for 7.5 miles. Click here for more details.

  24. 2/28/2017:  This tornado briefly touched down in an open field 3.6 miles east of Dunlap.
  25. 2/28/2017:  This tornado moved through Rome, before lifting near the Illinois River. Click here for more details.
  26. 7/10/2017:  This tornado touched down in a field 3.1 miles south-southeast of Princeville, and was on the ground for 1.6 miles. No damage was reported. 
  27. 3/28/2020:  This tornado touched down just east of the Peoria and moved northeast. Click here for more details.
  28. 5/28/2020:  A landspout tornado was on the ground for 1.6 miles near Edelstein, but caused no damage.
