Carpool
Save money and reduce carbon emissions by carpooling!
To reduce the carbon footprint of our Field Trip program and lessen the impacts of climate change, we are offering a selection of NRF Field Trips with a new carpooling option administered by the WI-DOT’s RIDESHARE program. It is free and you can choose to be a rider or a driver.
We’ve partnered with WisDOT’s RIDESHARE program to offer a selection of 30 NRF Field Trips using their online tool for connecting riders and drivers. It’s free and easy to use!
It’s simple! Click on the Field Trip title in the list below to go to the RIDESHARE carpool website and see which NRF members are signed up to be riders/drivers for that Field Trip.
HOW TO USE RIDESHARE:
Start by putting your address in the pop-up box and press the blue “Let’s go” button.
Select to see riders or drivers using the blue buttons in the “Show me” box.
- If there are matches for riders/drivers for this Field Trip they will be listed with the drivers’ name and general location. All people listed will be fellow friendly NRF members attending the trip!
- Click on the green login/sign-up to carpool button and make an account.
- Once logged in, you can click on the person in the list to send them a short email message (via rideshare) to connect and make plans!
- If there are no matches for riders or drivers, that means you are the first person looking. Click the green button to sign-up for RIDESHARE so the next person who comes to the site can see you are looking for a rider or driver.
- Start a carpool to this Field Trip! Answer a few quick questions such as if you would like to be a rider, or driver, or both. You can also choose a gender preference for rider/driver.
- If there is a rider/driver in your area, they will contact you via email (from Rideshare).
Win prizes for carpooling! Enter your name in the monthly t-shirt drawing HERE.
If you sign-up to carpool to a NRF Field Trip via RIDESHARE we’ll count your name twice, so you double the chance of winning!
Carpooled with a friend and didn’t use RIDESHARE? We want to promote carpooling of all kinds, and you can enter too!
