Shooting suspect in custody in Madison County

RICHMOND, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Richmond Police are searching for a suspect following a late-night shooting on Mallory Court.
According to the Richmond Police Department, officers responded to a shots-fired call at a residence around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night. When they got there, officers say they found a female victim who had suffered a gunshot wound.
Witnesses told police that 29-year-old Travon Hearst of Richmond was visiting a female acquaintance at her home when the victim arrived to confront him. Hearst allegedly pushed the woman to the ground and fired a single shot, grazing her head. Hearst then left the scene before officers arrived.
The victim was taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Police say Hearst remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. He was last seen driving a blue Nissan Altima with a temporary Kentucky tag B891979.
Residents are urged not to approach Hearst if they see him. Instead, police ask anyone with information about the incident or Hearst’s whereabouts to contact Dispatch at 859-624-4776 or email tyancey@richmond.ky.us.
