Project Ouroboros's itch.io pageGame's Take on the Theme
The player is an Ouroboros snake, requiring spinning around to eat its own tail to reload its weapons. The snake can also spin into a coiled form to dodge bullets. Additionally, the snake cannot stop moving, which requires frequent 'spinnage'.
Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
I made all the art and code. Music and sounds are from free to use sources.

love the ouroboros snake.
the visuals looks amazing! and how the theme was implemented was very smart! and i liked how you need to manage your bullets and making sure every bullet hits! the game is very polished and i like the music and the sfx!
but when you fight the first boss if you only have blocks of tail left... it's like a gameover! you can't get bullets or get food to make your tail longer! so this hurt the experience a little bit! but the controls were good! maybe make the snake turning a little bit faster and it would be a very solid game!
well done!
The use of the theme is absouletly perfect! kinda sad there is only one boss because i wanted to play even more of this, the visuals were near perfection here too!
* * * * * R a t e d ! ;) * * * * * Great game with great artwork!
Thanks, I’d appreciate it if you could rate it too!
Oh this one is great. The use of theme is perfect. Great sound and art. The controls take a bit to get used to. I hoped the pickups were automatic tho.
I have to say the ouroboros is a very unique symbol to display, quite well picked, the snake movement is so cool, I like how it moves and behaves, feels natural to move like this, the spin makes lot of sense and feels great to dash like that, the visuals are awesome to me, I rate graphics, fun, control and music the most, all is great really, also, if you have some time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!
Nice concept! But I think that you shouldn't make the snake lose a tail when getting hit, if I get out of ammo and there's no extra tail I can't shoot the boss to pick up the item, so I can't do anything until I die
Good visuals and music choices ! I think game is a bit too hard for me but some good ideas in here, keep going !
Takes a bit of time to get used to, but holy shit, this has to be one of the best takes on the "spin" theme in the entire jam.
wow!!!really interesting game and cool mechanic!!!good choice of ost. great job for a solo dev!
Great art and unique mechanics! Nice job.
I liked the art style and music of your game!!
i loved the take on the theme and its definitely one the more polished games I've seen here
Great work!!
I really like the reload mechanic of eating your tail, it's a pretty clever idea
Good take on the theme, the game felt very polished and cohesive. I like the idea that you are the ammo and I liked the clever names of the guns, made me chuckle. Overall a very fun play, good job!
Good game! Felt like the nokia snake game but you could touch your tail! Super polished as well! I like the fact that if you take damage, you get smaller therefore more chance to avoid bullets, that has an extra point!
Probably one of my favorite ones out there. Everything feels so polished, this game feels like google snake with a gun. I like how ammo and everything is based around segments! 10/10 game I'd love to see more!
(PS: If you're willing to I'd love it if you could rate and give me some feedback on my game! I'd really love to see where I can improve for the future!)
Really like this one. The sfx and visuals are good. I think I ran into a bug. After dying I think I was supposed to pick up a weapon again, but neither left or right click was working so I couldn't break the box.
Ah, that is some code I forgot to delete, pressing Esc enters a UI mode (which didn't end up making it), in which I stopped player input. Pressing Esc again should return it to normal. Sorry about that :)
No worries at all. Just thought I would let you know!
Pretty good system. Being stuck there waiting to be get a thing to reload kinda stunk a little but part of that was because I suck at the game lol. Looks great!
I loved playing this game. I had a lot of fun playing this game. Great Job. The art style was amazing.
What an absolutely beautifully simple mechanically cohesive game. Everything just wonderfully feeds into itself, it's all so consistent and fun to play. Awesome job on this one
