CHET Training Programs
CHET supports a range of opportunities for trainees to receive professional development to undertake innovative and transdisciplinary science for the next generation of health equity scholars. Outreach to communities most burdened by health conditions is a fundamental component of these research and training programs.
SPARK Program
The Students Participating as Ambassadors for Research in Kentucky (SPARK) program provides undergraduate students the opportunity to return to their home communities for health promotion research and practice to promote health equity.
ARISE
The Addressing Rural Cancer Inequities Through Scientific Excellence (ARISE) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program provides transdisciplinary and translational postdoctoral research training in rural cancer prevention, control, and survivorship.
GRAs
CHET provides training and professional development to for graduate research assistants to undertake innovative, transdisciplinary health equity research. CHET graduate trainees enjoy a range of opportunities including connecting to cross campus opportunities, engaging in professional service activities, and building a strong professional network.
PEP
The Postdoctoral Enrichment Program (PEP) provides support and career development for postdoctoral fellows with a broad range of backgrounds and experiences. These OVPR fellowships include the Lyman T. Johnson Postdoctoral Fellowship and the University Research Postdoctoral Fellowship.
DREAM Scholars Program
The Disparities Researchers Equalizing Access for Minorities (DREAM) scholars program supports the training of underrepresented minority pre-docs, post-docs, and junior faculty through career development and core human subjects research with an emphasis on heath equity methods.
RSP
The Research Scholars Program (RSP) promotes faculty research success by providing training to researchers from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.
UK ASCEND
The Achieving Success in Community-Engaged research to elimiNate Disparities (UK ASCEND) program is a comprehensive community-engaged health equity research training program for diverse early-stage investigators (ESIs).
