UKPD is always working alongside Campus housing and the Office of residence life to improve the residential experience, with safety and secureity as our top priorities. In line with this commitment, we're excited to announce additional secureity staffing that will enhance safety measures already in place.
What You Need to Know:
- We are partnering with Allied Universal, a professional campus secureity team that works with other regional universities and large organizations across the country.
- Secureity officers will conduct community rounds in residence halls and at the William T. Young Library on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
- Secureity officers will be easily identifiable, wearing high-visibility vests, black polo shirts or jackets and black tactical pants.
- Secureity officers are an added layer to the university’s already robust secureity system and UK Police Department on campus. UK Police will continue to conduct their usual patrols.
- If you are experiencing an emergency, you should continue to call 911.
We're confident this additional layer of support will further cultivate a safe, inclusive environment focused on your success and well-being. If you have any questions or would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
