David Mudry Memorial Scholarship

David Mudry was an alumnus of the University of Kentucky. In life, David was an outspoken advocate for LGBTQ* people. He was an aspiring drag queen, a huge Nintendo fan, and a lover of all animals (especially dogs). He always found ways to lift up others, even in their lowest moments. He was the kindest, most supportive, and most loving person you could ever meet! His presence is sorely missed in the lives of those he loved and those who loved him. It is fitting to carry on his legacy, honor his life, and remember him by lending his name to this scholarship for young members of the LGBTQ* community at the University of Kentucky. While a student at UK, David worked at the University Bookstore. This experience showed him, up close, that many students struggled to pay for their books and course materials. He always went out of his way to help those students. This scholarship is intended to help fill that, and other, student needs. One $500 scholarship will be awarded.

Scholarship Application Components:

  • Statement of financial need, particularly related to books and other course materials
  • 1 Letter of Recommendation
