Kevin Fryar

For more than 30 years of federal service, and more than 20 with NOAA, Kevin Fryar leveraged his passions for meteorology and aviation. Prior to joining NOAA, Fryar  served our nation in the U.S. Air Force as a combat, command, and reconnaissance meteorologist. During his time with NOAA,  Fryar served as a National Weather Service aviation forecaster, technology innovator, and decision-maker for busy airspaces over Atlanta and Chicago. He served in the Geostationary Operational Satellite R (GOES-R) series, eventually rising to Chief of Staff for the Geostationary Extended Observations (GeoXO) program. 

Currently, Fryar serves as the Chief of the Resources Management division of the NESDIS Office of Systems Architecture and Engineering. He leads a diverse team in managing the day-to-day administration of the office’s programs, including communication, diversity, inclusion and equity, property management, and training. 

Fryar obtained a BS degree in Meteorology from North Carolina State University and MS degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix.
