Cool and dry conditions persist across east central Florida today, with northwesterly winds and partly cloudy skies forecast. Highs remain 10 to 15 degrees below normal today in the upper 50s to mid 60s. A moderate risk of rip currents persists, and a southward-flowing current will be present at all east central Florida beaches. Small craft should also exercise caution across the Gulf Stream waters for seas around 6 feet and northwest winds up to 20 knots.
Below normal temperatures are likely (~70-80%) January 12th-17th with the potential for minimum temperatures below 40°F in some locations Sunday morning and across much of east central Florida into late next week. It's too early to determine exact temperature values into late next week and more will be known about "how cold" in the next several days.
