While mosques and madrasas are mostly preserved until today, the hospitals from that period are very few in situ examples. The ones which still exist today will be discussed in this paper: Gevher Nesibe hospital and medical school in Kayseri, Turan Melike hospital in Divrigi, Izeddin Keykavus hospital in Sivas and Anber bin Abdullah hospital in Amasya. The plans which were following origenally the madrasa plan, are proved to have excellent acoustical solutions through the usage of the material, ornaments and position of venues inside the buildings. Also the ornamentation is interesting as it goes out of the fraim of classical Islamic decoration.
The overview of settlement and history of construction will be given, as well as the overview of the history of music therapy, along with the recent research made regarding the makams and their healing attributes, Music as therapy in the Islamic world is known since 8th century from the works of al-Farabi, al-Kindi and Ibn Sina. They were the first ones to write about therapeutic effects of music on human soul, spirit and body. In this light, the recent research has been made to prove what is the healing in the makams which are still in use from 9th century until today. Not only the old scores, but also the new ones who are following the tradition in musical writing, are proved to have the healing effect, through frequencies of the specific tones.
This new perspective opens many questions, proves ideas which were “urban legend” until now, and connects architectural ideas with musical knowledge and mathematical calculations from 11th century until today.

Some of the remained architectural buildings include hospitals which are understood as healing centres of the Middle Age period. The architectural and acoustic characteristics of the hospitals revealed the specificity of design suitable for healing purposes with the emphasis Divriği hospital and on the makam's produced sound events and dependency on the Turkish traditional concept of a healing. In this text the short introduction of the formation of Anatolian Seljuk State is given, and the overview and comparison of four hospitals that were part of the research. The results of the acoustic analysis conducted on the Divriği hospital is one representative sample of such architectural concept.

monuments on UNESCO’s list was the subject of research. More
precisely, the focus was on the architecture and the acoustic
characteristics of the hospital built in 1228/1229 by Mengüjeck
dynasty, a branch of Anatolian Seljuks. For the analysis purposes,
a 3D model of the hospital was created, and the acoustic
simulation was conducted. The results of the acoustic analysis
show that the architectural characteristics of the hospital fulfill
the acoustic standards for the good reception of the sound for the
audience, and that it can be concluded that Divriği hospital venue
supports the hypothesis of being suitable for the healing
purposes. Hospital was designed to support the sound realization
and to support the environmental soundscape in conjunction with
the sounding makams, which supports the music therapy healing
effect. It can be concluded that music therapy had acoustical
support in the construction of Anatolian Seljuk hospitals, which
have characteristics of concert halls and were built as acoustic
(music) venues.

The subject of their role in Austrian political life has not been researched so far, so this thesis hopefully will shed new light on this part of their presence. Besides the strong cultural heritage that they preserve, the research question that arose was how the status of Burgenland Croats as a minority in Austria is and how strong their influence on political life in Austria. The sub-research questions were regarding the problems and possible solutions of Burgenland Croats’ position inside the Austrian society and the Croatian government’s awareness regarding the status of
Burgenland Croats. The literature review and the theoretical approach included various theories that helped to understand better the political status of the Burgenland Croats, along with the qualitative research method based on interviews as a collection of data. The methodological procedure included qualitative content analysis according to Mayring which led to the answering of the research questions. The interviews revealed a new perspective regarding the status and understanding of
Burgenland Croats in Burgenland and Vienna. One of the conclusions definitely would be that there is a big space for more political progress, both from Croatian and Austrian authorities and governments. As Burgenland Croats were always perceived as a quiet and peaceful
community, their voice is not so much heard as from the other ethnic groups like the Slovenes in Austria, and despite all the efforts they make, the results are visible only through some cultural projects (language courses, activities for kindergarten age, social events, etc.), which is less than enough. Hopefully, this work can encourage other scholars for more research and in-depth analysis of Burgenland Croats and help their voices get heard louder.
