Bahasa Georgia (ქართული ენა , kartuli ena) merupakan bahasa rasmi Georgia.
Loghat
[sunting | sunting sumber]Loghat-loghat termasuk Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi, Guria, Adjaran, Imerkhevi (di Turki), Kartli, Kakheti, Ingilo (di Azerbaijan), Tush, Khevsur, Mokhevian, Pshavi, loghat Fereydan di Iran di Fereydunshahr dan Fereydan, Mtiuleti, Meskheti.
Sistem tulisan
[sunting | sunting sumber]Tiga sistem tulisan telah digunakan dalam sejarah bahasa Georgia. Kini hanya satu tulisan, Mkhedruli ("ketenteraan") digunakan hampir sepenuhnya; yang lain lazimnya hanya untuk keminatan para cendekiawan yang membaca dokumen sejarah.
Mkhedruli mempunyai 33 huruf yang sering digunakan; dengan enam huruf yang tidak digunakan kini.
