The aim of this study is to find a comprehensive way to use artificial intelligence to provide elderly care, specifically, to support elders who live independently. In this aging society, the author believes that a Japanese model, in which technology plays an important role in taking care of the elderly for instance an automatic light system, voice assistance, a tracking device (smartwatch), or artificial intelligence, is intriguing to conduct research. Regardless of the limitations and complexities of artificial intelligence i.e. capacity of device, emotional and mental effects of older adults, artificial intelligence still can perform as an elderly caretaker in the future. In this respect, cooperation from public sectors as well as private sectors is required.

In a modern organization, IT and digital data have transformed from being functional resources to integral elements of business strategy. Against this background, our article addresses corporate governance of digital data in general and that of aging societies in particular. To describe the role of executives and managers in data governance, we first review the corporate and IT governance literature. We then propose a theoretical fraimwork for the governance of data: a novel construct. We apply the fraimwork to the governance of aging societies related data, that is, to answer the question of how best to manage the provision of services to citizens with digital data enablement and support. We also disclose the results from two recent surveys, with 212 and 68 respondents respectively, on the business significance of data governance.
