Henry Hope is the LEO Associate Director for Strategic Partnerships. In his current role, Henry is working with international, interagency and commercial partners to support the goals and objectives of the Office of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Observations. These include technical requirements for observations on orbit and on the ground, and user requirements for data products and accessibility.

Henry started working for the NOAA National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service (NESDIS) in 2016. Most recently, he served as the Chief of Staff for the Office of Low Earth Observations where he played a vital role in program formulation, legislative affairs, and strategic partnerships. Henry also previously served as a Budget Analyst for the JPSS program where he oversaw strategic planning, budget formulation, and funding for the international and Federal partnerships that support the NOAA LEO missions. 

Prior to his work at NESDIS, Henry worked on strategic planning and analysis for the NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service. He also has worked in the private and non-profit sectors on environmental conservation and planning. Over the course of his Federal career, Henry has received several awards and fostered important relationships across Federal agencies and commercial partners.

Henry earned a Master’s Degree from The Johns Hopkins University in Environmental Science and Policy with a focus on remote sensing and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Vassar College in Biology.
