Required Weekly Test (RWT)

The Required Weekly Test (RWT) is broadcast every Wednesday around 1100 AM.  On days when severe weather is in the area or is imminent, the test may be cancelled to avoid confusion with actual warnings and watches.  The next RWT will be on the following Wednesday as scheduled.  A public information statement will be issued, and played on all transmitters for 6 hours if the RWT is cancelled.

Some NOAA Weather Radio receivers such as the Midland WR-120 will beep periodically and/or display a check signal message if they do not receive a test or alert within a period of time.  To stop the beeping, unplug your receiver from its power source, and remove the batteries.  Wait a few seconds, then reinstall the batteries and plug it back in.  In most cases you will not have to reprogram your receiver, but you may want to verify the settings to be sure.
