Madison Becknell

About Madison

Madison Becknell excelled in her studies in the Clinical Leadership and Management program at the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences. She made the Dean’s List multiple times, even while she was active in her community and with her church and sorority. She helped fellow students in their studies and was respected and appreciated by faculty.

Madison was excited for the future of healthcare and her roll in it. Sarah Kercsmar, department chair and associate professor in the Clinical Leadership and Management program, said, “She was often the one sitting in the front row, eagerly engaged and, you know, put her hand up and was ready to go.” Madison was interested in integrative medicine after finishing her senior practicum, an extension of classroom experience, at UK. “She found her love and her passion,” Kercsmar said.

Karen Clancy, director of the Clinical Leadership and Management Program said, “Madison valued being a responsible, professional communicator in health care. She wrote in an assignment about the need for professionals in health care to be learners, inquirers, critical thinkers, and problem solvers. And she approached her studies and work in health care in that way.”
