Getting Started
As a new Engineering for Professionals faculty member, there are several administrative tasks you will need to complete:
- Review the Faculty Handbook
- Activate your JHED account
- JHED Instructions
- Update your Faculty Profile
- Review Benefits Hub
- Submit your New Hire Paperwork
- Obtain your JHU ID (J-Card) to access the Homewood Library and other facilities
- Login to SIS to access registration, course rosters, grade reporting and more

To prepare to teach your courses each term, you will need to complete several tasks well before the first day of classes:
Managing & Delivering Your Course
To manage and deliver your course, your will need to:
- View and download your Course Roster(s)
- Provide appropriate Accommodations for Students with Disabilities
- Request a Grader following EP Policies & Guidelines
- Use Policy on Academic Misconduct to handle suspected cheating/plagiarism
- Submitting Grades in Canvas
- Request a Grade Change
- Distribute Mid-Term and Final Course Evaluations
- Recognize Students in Distress
- Refer students for Counseling Services
