Welcome to the Duquesne Athletic Fund (DAF) page and thank you for visiting. The DAF is the official fundraising arm for the Duquesne Athletics. DAF funds support over 450 student-athletes who compete on the playing courts and fields and represent Duquesne University on a national stage. A gift to the DAF will help to recruit, retain, train and support our outstanding student-athletes as they pursue a world-class education and playing experience at DU.
As a thank you to our members, the athletics department offers exclusive benefits to DAF members to show our recognition for their contributions to Duquesne athletics. DAF members are afforded a variety of benefits which are based on giving level. Every membership makes a difference in the life of a student-athlete.
DAF benefits include:
- Tax-deductibility
- Invitations to DAF special events (golf outing, tip-off luncheon, etc.)
- Exclusive hospitality and parking options
- DU coaches apparel
- And much more
Please take a few moments to review the DAF website and consider making a gift to the Duquesne Athletic Fund to support our outstanding student-athletes. Join "the team behind the team" and help us build upon our strong tradition!

The Duquesne Athletic Fund is the charitable giving arm of Duquesne University Athletics. It operates under guidelines prescribed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Atlantic 10 Conference and the Northeast Conference (football and bowling associate membership).
Individuals and organizations sharing a commitment to the success of Duquesne Athletics all contribute to the Fund. The Duquesne Athletic Fund supports the operational costs of our 16 varsity sports programs and the nearly 400 men and women participating as student-athletes.
The University has made unprecedented commitments to Athletics in recent years, increasing funding for scholarships and making extensive facilities improvements at Rooney Field and the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse. Duquesne Athletic Fund members have magnified these efforts by establishing new endowed scholarships and supporting locker room renovations for football, men's and women's basketball and volleyball. Significant giving opportunities remain in these areas.
Similarly, donors at every level contribute to the impact of the Duquesne Athletic Fund. Operational budgets, while growing, remain limited. Yet they have a direct effect on every student-athlete. Travel, for example, is a major expense. We recruit nationally and internationally, with more than 25 states and seven countries represented on our varsity rosters. This requires coaches to scout and meet with student-athletes everywhere and to bring prospects to campus for official visits.
Robust academic support also separates Duquesne from its peers and rivals. Student-athletes benefit from specialized academic advisement, individual and group tutoring, mandatory study halls, and loaned laptop computers for use during team travel. All of these resources are supported in large part by the Athletic Fund, helping Duquesne athletes to excel in their studies.
Choose the method that's most convenient for you:
- By mail or online via check, Mastercard, Visa or Discover
- Gifts-In-Kind of equipment, supplies or services (subject to appraisal and University policies).
- Major, Planned and Long-Term Gifts: Contact us for information about gifts of stock, securities, real estate, trusts, bequests or life insurance.
Support Your Sport
Athletic Fund gifts help us to recruit, retain, train and support outstanding student-athletes through scholarships, facilities, travel and services. Your unrestricted gift provides these resources to participants in all sports and allows the Athletic Department to respond to changing needs and unexpected opportunities. Or, you may designate all or part of your gift to a specific sport or sports, serving student-athletes on the teams that are most important to you.
Either way, both you and Duquesne student-athletes win!
Increase the Impact
Ask your human resources department to learn if your employer offers corporate matching gifts. If so, obtain and complete the necessary form and send it with your gift to double--or even triple--its value. You can learn more about matching gifts by visiting Duquesne's matching gift site.
