The University of Wyoming Athletics department is dedicated to diversity and inclusion and to providing safe and equitable opportunities for all student-athletes. This best practices statement was created to fairly and effectively address intercollegiate athletic participation by transgender student-athletes as well as to provide information and education to all students, parents, coaches, staff, administrators, and community members.

Statement on Sexual Violence Prevention The University of Wyoming’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (Athletic Department) is committed to protecting the health and safety of student-athletes. To this end the Athletic Department, has worked with the Title IX Coordinator’s Office (Equal Opportunity Report and Response, or EORR), University General Counsel’s Office, the University of Wyoming Police Department, the Dean of Students Office and the Stop Violence Program to create the following policies and procedures to meet the challenges of preventing and responding appropriately to sexual violence. Additionally, these policies and procedures have been vetted through campus leadership to ensure compliance with federal laws, federal regulations, institutional policies and departmental policies that address sexual violence, social justice, and civil rights.

The University of Wyoming requests your cooperation by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner. Profanity, racial or sexist comments, or other intimidating actions directed at officials, student-athletes, coaches, or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the UNIWYO Sports Complex.
• And fans, in the spirit of good sportsmanship and player safety, please refrain from throwing any objects on or near the playing area. Individuals in violation of this policy are subject to removal from the UNIWYO Sports Complex. Wyoming Athletics also reminds spectators that smoking is not permitted in the UNIWYO Sports Complex. The University of Wyoming is committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable sports and entertainment experience. The University of Wyoming recognizes intercollegiate athletics as an important part of the student and alumni experience. We as fans should credit student athletes for their commitment to academic and athletic excellence and their efforts to compete within the rules of each sport. We also need to promote the Mountain West Conference by upholding high standards of scholarship, competitive performance, and spectator behavior.

The University of Wyoming welcomes you as our guest; you as a college sports fan have a right to expect an environment where:

• Student-Athletes, coaches, and team personnel will respect and appreciate each and every fan.
• Guests will be treated in a consistent, professional, and courteous manner by all venue and team personnel.
• Guests will enjoy the game day experience free from disruptive behavior including foul, abusive, obscene or discriminatory (on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, gender identification, age, race, national origin, religion, military status, disability status, or any other characteristic) language or gestures.
• Intervention with an impaired and intoxicated guest will be handled in a prompt and safe manner.
• Guests will sit only in their ticketed seats and show their tickets when requested.
• Guests will not engage in fighting, throwing of objects, or attempting to enter the competition area, and those who engage in any of these actions will immediately be ejected from the event.
• Guests will comply with requests from venue staff regarding venue operations and emergency response procedures.
