Thus, increasing number of students in the Muslim, Mindanao or, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.(BARMM), Philippines is observable that requires understanding classroom dynamics where students majority are Bangsamoro learner. Teachers play a pivotal role in promoting gender equity to ensure the active engagement of all the learners. As part of the classroom management, teachers face the question of how and where to seat their students. This research aimed to examine the extent of implementing Gender Seat Plan of Secondary School teachers among Muslim students of selected Secondary Schools in Maguindanao II Division. It determined the effects of Gender Seat Plan to the class discipline and performance of Muslim Students. The research uses descriptive research design and purposive random sampling technique in distributing survey questionnaire in order to gather information and Plan Satisfactorily attained class discipline and achieved class performance of the students. It shows also that it promotes in the religious belief and traditions of Muslim students. In the analysis of the findings, this seating arrangement does not directly affect the student's performance. Thus, it implies that in Muslim communities, it is good to separate male and female in the plan to preserve their culture and promote awareness of one's religious should be formulated by the PTCA related to the implementation of gender seat plan, there must be an orientation given to the students about the benefits they gain from the implementation of the gender seat plan, and teachers may unite to implement the gender seat plan.

Academic performance is the measurement of students' achievement across various academic subjects... more Academic performance is the measurement of students' achievement across various academic subjects reflecting classroom undertaking of tasks and results from standardized tests. This study used quasi effectiveness of traditional and innovative teaching strategies, the learning performances, and the attitudes of 79 Grade students. Thus, traditional teaching was applied to a control group while Innovative teaching strategy was experimental group. Both group were subjected to pretest, post students had slightly improved their scores from pre academic performance using the innovative teaching strategies had improved more from pre the innovative teaching strategies are effective teaching tools compare to traditional teaching strategy. Hence, Ther difference between the pre-test and post-test performances of both group, moreover, the use of innovative teaching strategies are effective in teaching Science subject and increases students' academic performances b of students towards using innovative teaching strategies that the use of Video Clips is the most effective way of increasing result of students' performance. The students' positive attitude towards the use of innovative teaching strat strongly agree. While the students negative attitude have changed in a positive manner. Paper suggested that, teachers should develop learning tasks as an instructional material in the teaching students. Furthermore, this will serve as the reference for the future researches.

Spiral curriculum describes how knowledge being transcribed and organized in various ways of thinking in order to the student gains deeper knowledge on the topics. Bruner’s, (1966). This study aimed to examine the status of K-12 Science and Mathematics spiral curriculum implementation at Datu Saudi Uy Ampatuan Memorial National High School, Maguindanao Del Sur Division. Thus, it utilized qualitative case study approach patterned on Clarke & Braun, (2017). Thematic Analysis. (TA) that provides a meticulous analysis of data with small group of people who were purposely chosen in order to explicate and delineate the experiences in the phenomena. Thus, the study revealed that, the preparations of the school administrators and teachers in the implementation of the spiral curriculum were Designing Course Outline, Utilizing all Available Resources. Hence, the challenges and problems encountered by the school administrators and teachers in the implementation of Spiral Curriculum in Science and Mathematics were Less Support from the Administration, Insufficient Educational Resources, Lack of Technological Capacity Building, Mastery of Subject Matter, Low Level of Students Performance, and Congested Topics. Moreover, the coping mechanism of the teachers were, Use of Personal Fund and Resources, Resourcefulness, Pursuing Post Degree Program, Contextualization, Differentiated Instruction, Most Essential Learning Competencies. The study demonstrates the importance of spiral curriculum on the students’ active engaging learning. Furthermore, teachers faced challenges on the lack of resources and educational materials in the implementation of the curriculum. Paper suggested that, the department of education may conduct various training programs for the school administrators and teachers in response to the effectiveness of the curriculum.

This study aimed to determine the Grade II Learners Early Language Literacy (ELL) in Modular Distance Learning at Simuay Junction Central Elementary School. The researchers used qualitative methods employing phenomenology to delineate the perspectives and challenges experienced by the teachers, parents and learners themselves during the modular distance learning. The participants of the study were seven (7) Grade-II Pupils, seven (7) Grade II teachers, and seven (7) parents. The semi-structured research questionnaire was utilized during the interview process. Thus, it also investigated the challenges in early language literacy through modular distance learning. Colaizzi's seven steps strategy in data analysis in phenomenological methods was utilized to provide a rigorous analysis with each step (1) Staying close to the data. (2) Transcripts were read repeatedly (3) Significant statement (4) Formulated meanings (5) Cluster themes (6) Developing exhaustive description (7) Producing the fundamental structure and seeking verification of the fundamental structure to extract thematic analysis. Finally, the findings of the study revealed six (6) important themes: 1.) Parents' Assistance, 2.) Siblings' Assistance, 3.) Teachers' Assistance, 4.)Difficulty in Reading and Writing, 5.) Poor Word Recognition 6.) Difficulties in Blending words. Furthermore, the suggested solutions to address challenges are, parents' assistance, restriction of gadgets, enrichment activities in the module, face to face modality and Phonetic Alphabet Translation. it is concluded that, Modular Distance Learning can be a tool in learning early language literacy which includes reading and writing, learner to learner interaction and enrichment activities. However, it is quietly challenging to the part of the learners, teachers and parents. The study aimed to find out the English adaptation of Bachelor of Secondary Education English major graduates at Davao City Call Centers. Specifically, the study sought to determine the following sub-problems which are the level of English Proficiency level of BSEd-English Graduates before they become call center agents in terms of grammar, sentence mastery, vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency; the English Proficiency level of BSEd-English Graduates during their employment as call center agents in terms of grammar, sentence mastery, vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency; the significant differences in the mean scores of each of the five (5) English Proficiency parameters before and during employment of the BSEd-English graduates as call center agents. An English Proficiency Test and TOEFL test for teacher were utilized as the research instrument in the gathering data which contain items adapted and modified from various English proficiency test and TOEFL test for teachers' which suit to the level of the teachers. Test of English as a Foreign Language known as TOEFL test is a standardized test to measure the English Language ability of non-native speakers to evaluate the English speaking and understanding ability of a speaker. Based on the data gathered and analyzed, the. The findings showed that before the employment of the BSE-English as call center agents their English proficiency level in grammar was good as revealed by the mean score of 11.80, in sentence mastery their English proficiency level was also good as indicated by the mean score of 11.80. moreover, in vocabulary their English proficiency level was also good as justified by the mean score of 11.20, in pronunciation their English proficiency level is very good as proven by the mean score of 4.93, and in fluency their proficiency level was also very good as stated by the mean score of 4.53. Moreover, during the employment of the BSEd-English graduates as call center agents their English proficiency levels in the following language areas are the following; in grammar their proficiency level is very good as revealed by the mean score of 13.25, in sentence mastery their proficiency level is also very good as justified by the score of 12.80in vocabulary their proficiency level is also very good with the mean score of 13.40, in pronunciation their proficiency level is also very good with the mean score of 5.46, and in fluency their proficiency level is also very good as proven by the mean score of 5.40. In the study, the results show that there are significant differences between the students' English proficiency before and during their employment as call center agents: in grammar the computed t-value is 4.460. In sentence mastery the computed t-value is 4.365, in vocabulary the computed t-value is 5.662, in pronunciation the computed t-value is 5.112, and in fluency the computed t-value is 4.203 which are all higher than the tabular t-value of ≠2.145. The study was concluded that the employment of BSEd-English graduate to call centers has positively contributed to the English adaptation of the respondents. Further, it is concluded that the employment of respondents to the call centers has improved their English proficiency level in grammar, vocabulary, sentence mastery, pronunciation and fluency.

This research aims to determine the students' level of satisfaction with the use of fern fiddlehe... more This research aims to determine the students' level of satisfaction with the use of fern fiddlehead as an ice cream flavor. The researchers used purposive sampling, surveying, and interviewing twenty (20) participants from 2nd and 3rd year HRM students. The study explored their overall experiences, and recommendations for product improvement. In terms of taste, texture, aroma/fragrance, flavor, and appearance/visual presentation, the product recieved a satisfactory interpretation. The identified positive experiences included similar to matcha, good taste, creamy texture, and unique texture. Conversely, the negative experiences included are not good, rough texture, unpleasant, and unappealing. For recommendations, the participants suggest removing the sour aftertaste, pulverizing the fern, improving the smell, and making it appealing. Overall, the use of fern fiddlehead as an ice cream flavor can represent culinary creativity and be a distinct addition to the world of gourmet dessert.

Learning the English language is pivotal to the development of the learners in all aspect. Thus, the classroom is the ideal platform to acquire and learning the English language with the assistance of English teachers. The COVID-19 Pandemic brought distraction to all educational system where the modular distance learning modality is being adopted while learners accustomed to face to face learning approach. This qualitative phenomenological study aimed to explore the lived experiences of selected Teduray English language learners during the modular distance learning from Datu Blah Sinsuat, District of Maguindanao-II, Division. The purposive sampling technique was used to select the participants relevant to the research study. The in-depth interview employing semi-structure research questionnaire was utilized to explicate the challenges and experiences in the phenomena.The Collaizzi’s, (1978) seven steps strategy in phenomenological approach was utilized to provide rigorous analysis of data. Thus, the findings of the study revealed important themes. Poor Reading Comprehension, Very Poor in Writing, Difficulty in Word Recognition, Poor Writing Skills. Consequently, the coping mechanism of Teduray English language learners were, Studying the Lesson, Asking Assistance from Parents/Siblings. Therefore, the suggested solution of the English language teachers to the Teduray learners were, Enrichment Activities in Reading and Writing on Module, Learning Through Social Media Platform, Guidance and Supervision from Adults/Parents and lastly, Utilization of Dictionary. The study concluded that, Teduray English language learners had experienced serious difficult challenges in their learning English language on modular distance learning.

Filipinos have valued the use of songs as springboard in teaching figurative language as a vital ... more Filipinos have valued the use of songs as springboard in teaching figurative language as a vital tool to communicate thoughts feelings and emotions to convey messages. Halliday (1975). Figurative language is a used of words or expression in non-literal way to convey more vivid imaginatively. Thus, the use of literary texts and excerpts as teaching resources for English language teaching is beneficial for various reasons. English language teachers use literary texts in the classroom because of the vital role that literature plays in keeping students interested. The present study aims to identify the students' level of competence in figurative language before and after teaching using Maguindanaon love songs English translations on Grade 7 students of Cotabato City National High School-Main Campus and to understand Maguindanaon culture of courtship and marriage by analyzing Maguindanaon love songs grounded on Ferdinand de Saussure's Structuralism Theory. This study utilized the explanatory sequential mixed method design. Hence, the study revealed that, after a four-day exposure to Maguindanaon love songs as springboard to figurative lessons, the study found out that there is high significant difference between the means of the pre-and post-test scores with t28 = 12.53, p < 0.001 and an effective size of 2.33, which implied that the intervention material is highly effective for improving learners' performance in their understanding of basic figurative languages. Furthermore, simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole and alliteration are the five common figurative languages identified using a thematic analysis. The study concluded that, the use of English translations of Maguindanaon love songs are highly effective in boosting learners' performance in English 7, notably their knowledge of basic figurative languages as indicated by the results made after the test. The paper suggested that, teachers can incorporate and preserve Maguindanaon literature love songs and use as example in the textbooks so that the appreciation of culture would still be present in the up coming generation. Thus this serves as reference for the future research endeavour.

This qualitative study aimed to examine the Causes and Coping Strategies of the selected students who are stuttering in Speaking English at Nabalawag High School in Midsayap North Cotabato. The Collaizzi's (1978) Seven steps strategy in data analysis in phenomenological was utilized to provide rigorous analysis.The purposive sampling technique was used to select the participants relevant to the research study they were (3) three students, (3) three teachers, and (3) three parents. Thus, small group of people selecting participants were resulted in better data and easier for the researchers to build close relationships with the participants during in-depth interview employing semi-structure research questionnaire made by the researchers' to explicit the data gathered relevant to the research study. The findings of the study revealed that there are some causes why do students stutter in speaking English. It includes their hesitation to speak English, afraid of committing slip; errors, mistakes, unfamiliar words, they tend to to be bullied by their peers, lack of confidence in speaking as well as the physical feature of their tongue affects the way they utter words. The researchers concluded that the causes of stuttering students in speaking English had been lessened by doing some strategies such as need enough time to practice themselves to speak constant use of English words, socialize with others, and enhance interpersonal skills. Also, proper motivation, engagement, inspiration, confidence, and interest towards learning in speaking English.

Thus, English speaking skills is one of the most essential for all the learners who wish to learn English to enhance their career, improve in business, build confidence levels, to get better job opportunities and success their respective fields. In the present modern world, everything is linked with speaking skills. The classroom is the ideal platform to acquire good communication skills. English language teachers have to understand the problems of English language learners and try to implement various teaching strategies. Hence, the study utilizing purposive sampling technique with in-depth interview with participants to gather data relevant to the research study. The researchers' made guided questionnaires in order to the participants explicate their experiences in the phenomena. Thematic analysis was utilized to provide rigorous analysis of data. Finally, the study revealed that, majority of the students learned the English language at the age of seven to twelve years old. (7-12). They mentioned that it took a long time for them to speak English language. Therefore, The English Language learners learned to speak English by reading books, listen to music and watching movies, observe, imitate, dramatize, socialize, and use English in social media to master and develop speaking skills. Consequently, ELLs have faced difficulties, like grammar, pronunciation, and lack of confidence. Moreover, many factors affect the English language of students, such as, lack of vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, level of comprehension, social criticism, socioeconomic status, and lastly lack of practice speaking the English language. Findings suggested that, some useful tips for the teachers to introduce various activities that involve the ELLs more on practicing their speaking skills in English Classroom. So that the ELLs their speaking skills that is useful for them to build their future career in a perfect way.

The participants of the study were the selected 25 Grade pupils and 25 home-based teachers. This study used mixed methods of research. The researchers utilized descriptive statistics such as frequency count and weighted mean. For quantitative, a set of questionnaires developed based on the Foreign Language Reading Anxiety Scale (FLRAS) consisted of 20 items in which five-point values in the Likert Scale were used ranging from Strongly Agree-Strongly Disagree; and for qualitative, an interview guide questions consisted of 2 items. Questions number one (1) and two (2) were classified as quantitative methods and number three (3) and four (4) were qualitative in this study. Colaizzi&#39;s seven steps strategy in data analysis in phenomenological methods was utilized to provide a rigorous analysis with each step (1) Staying close to the data. (2) Transcripts were read repeatedly (3) Significant statement (4) Formulated meanings (5) Cluster themes (6) Developing exhaustive description (7) Producing the fundamental structure and seeking verification of the fundamental structure to extract thematic analysis. Finally, the findings of the study revealed six (6) important themes: 1.) Parents&#39; Assistance, 2.) Siblings&#39; Assistance, 3.) Teachers&#39; Assistance, 4.)Difficulty in Reading and Writing, 5.) Poor Word Recognition 6.) Difficulties in Blending words. Furthermore, the suggested solutions to address challenges are, parents&#39; assistance, restriction of gadgets, enrichment activities in the module, face to face modality and Phonetic Alphabet Translation. it is concluded that, Modular Distance Learning can be a tool in learning early language literacy which includes reading and writing, learner to learner interaction and enrichment activities. However, it is quietly challenging to the part of the learners, teachers and parents. Hence, the assistance of adult learners at home like parents and siblings seemingly addressed the challenges in the modular distance learning.

Five specific questions were answered as follows: the profile of the teachers teaching English was analyzed in terms of educational attainment, professional growth, and average class size; the mismatch status of English teachers in the selected secondary Schools in Maguindanao-I Division was analyzed in terms of educational qualification, post graduate education, seminars attended related to English language, and average class size; the students' performance in the National Achievement Test was analyzed using the test results; finally the mismatch between teachers' profile in teaching English and in students' performance in NAT as well as the relationship between mismatch status of English teachers and the students' performance in NAT were analyzed using chi-square analysis. Ex-post-facto research design was used with the teachers' profile and students' scores in the NAT as primary data. Complete enumeration of the target respondents was used. Moreover, the chi-square analysis was used to determine the relationship of the teachers' profile with the students' scores in NAT.

This study aimed to determine the Oral Reading Interventions Activities and their effects on the ... more This study aimed to determine the Oral Reading Interventions Activities and their effects on the Pronunciation Skill of Bangsamoro Grade 3 English Language Learners in Reading Aloud in Usman Baunga Elemenatary School during the school Year 2021-2022. Specifically, sought answers the learners' pronunciation performance level before the oral reading intervention activities in the following parameters: words, phrases, and sentences. It also sought to found out the learners' pronunciation performance level after the oral reading intervention activities in the same parameters. Then afterwards, it also hunted to answer if there any significant difference between the learners' English pronunciation performance level before and after the reading activities are introduced and these were the basis for proposing instructional materials for English Language learners. The researcher utilized a descriptive statistic that includes mean, frequency, and percentage as statistical tools in answering the question 1 and 2 in the statement of the problem. The t-test for dependent samples was used in determining the significant difference in the pre-test and the post test scores of the learners' oral reading ability level. The test is set at 0.5 levels of significance. The study revealed that the pronunciation skills in reading words is average, in reading phrases is average and poor in reading sentences before the conduct of the reading intervention activities. While after the conduct of the reading intervention activities, the level of pronunciation in reading words is good, in reading phrases is good. Generally, the pronunciation skills of the students significantly improved after the conduct of oral intervention activities. Thus, it is concluded that the oral reading intervention activities is very effective in improving the students' pronunciation skills.
