Abstrak Poster merupakan salah satu media populer dalam desain komunikasi visual, poster juga marak sebagai media utama dalam berbagai macam pergerakan. Namun poster hanyalah suatu media, pesan dalam poster tersebut yang sebenarnya perlu menjadi perhatian. Selain iklan komersial poster juga sering digunakan sebagai iklan layanan masyarakat. Poster-poster Iklan layanan Masyarakat tersebut bertujuan untuk mengubah perilaku masyarakat melalui pesan yang ingin disampaikan oleh desainer poster tersebut. Salah satunya adalah poster Marlyn Fish Deep 2009 karya Sigit Setiawan dan Aditya Donny Suryawan. Karya tersebut berhasil menjuarai salah satu kompetisi poster bertajuk Deep Indonesia 2009, tujuan poster ini untuk mengubah perilaku masyarakat untuk lebih memperhatikan dan menjaga kelestarian terumbu karang di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas poster menggunakan analisis tinjauan desain melalui empat tahap yakni, tahap deskripsi, tahap analisa, tahap interpretasi, dan tahap evaluasi. Tinjauan desain tersebut diharapkan dapat menjadi jembatan bagi pembaca dalam mengartikan karya poster tersebut secara lebih terperinci. Kata Kunci: Poster, Tinjauan Desain, Iklan Layanan Masyarakat. Abstract Poster is one of the popular media in visual communication design, poster also rife as the main media in a wide range of movement. But the poster is just a medium, the message in the poster that actually need to be a concern. Besides commercial advertising posters are also frequently used as public service advertising. Posters of the public service ads aimed at changing people's behavior through the message to be conveyed by the poster designer. One of them is the poster Marlyn Fish Deep 2009 by Sigit Setiawan and Aditya Donny Suryawan. The art work succesfull to the first winner on poster competition titled Deep Indonesia 2009, the purpose of the poster is to change the behavior of the public to pay more attention and to preserve the coral reefs in Indonesia. This study aims to discuss the poster using analytical design review through four stages namely, stage descriptions, the analysis stage, the stage of interpretation and evaluation phase. The design review is expected to be a bridge for the reader in interpreting the poster works in more detail.

Typography is one of basic elements in Visual Communication Design. Almost every promotional tools and media are using typography as a message conveyor. It is also has become an important yet attractive branding feature from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) or Industri Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) in Indonesia. Nevertheless, the lack of knowledge and understanding from the SMEs on how to build their brand has been camouflaged by the use of typography to represent a brand. There are at least 11.610 of Small Medium Enterprises available in the City of Semarang nowadays. This usage of typography as a brand representation is shown from packagings of apparel products, snacks, and processed foods comes from local plantations. These products will not be able to compete with any other modern day packaged products if not interfered by the knowledge on how to build a brand using visual communication design. The purpose of this research is to provide brand building knowledge bridging for SMEs in Indonesia. There are several tendencies that can be found from this research; (1). Most of the character of the typography being used is not conveying the character and content of the product, (2). The typefaces being used is not readable and having low legibility, (3). Product information is not using typography, (4). The typefaces being used are tend to copy other typefaces used in other product.

Semarang is a city rich in cultural acculturation with its own history. Sarekat Islam (SI) Building, which is now named Balai Muslimin (Center for Muslim), itself is never mentioned in history textbooks taught in schools, not ever known by most Semarang people. The building which was built in 1919-1920 has so important significant history for Indonesia and Semarang in particularly that is deserved to be called as a cultural heritage. In 2008 this building started to break down and would be torn down and rebuilt into a three-story commercial building. Komunitas Penggiat Sejarah (KPS) is a local community in Semarang which cares about the history and heritage, made a move and urged to the local city government to ban the building torn down and restore the building. Authors were interested in steps that KPS took and carried out so that eventually the building can stand as it has been remained before. This paper will tell how the efforts and activites that have been done by KPS so that a cultural heritage got the attention and be restored from the local city government. The spirit of the local community could be inspiring to the similar activities in the future. The method used to write this paper was to interview a heritage activist as well as to collect some photographs of documentation both before and after restoration SI Building.

The difficulty of understanding puppet characters by using conventional media is an obstacle in understanding puppet stories. The lack of promotional media or design media in displaying puppet characters is also one of the problems. The millennial generation has no interest in culture, especially puppetry. This situation makes puppet characters increasingly forgotten. The puppet characters are build by a typographic experimental method as a sculpture. The puppet sculptures are expected to become a new medium that is easily remembered and understood by the audience especially millennials generation. Typography experiment method starts from the process of idealizing ideas, representing ideas with several alternative sketch designs, coloring the chosen alternative sketch, and the process of building the images of characters through a composition of letters. The sculpture of puppet character design has the purpose of adding visual references and new media in the learning process of puppet figures in the era of disruption.

The number of adverts that have sprung up this digital era has made the
creative industry try to break new breakthroughs so that advertisements
can be more able to get the attention of the audience by making many

Gestisutis is one of the creative industries in Indonesia that rarely encountered. The existence of GestiSutis becomes its own appeal for further review, especially regarding its creative work process in producing Wayang Kulit posters. This research aims to reveal the creative process of GestiSutis in producing Wayang Kulit Posters. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with key informants GestiSutis, observation, and content analysis. The data obtained were analyzed using interactive analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that first, in the arts group requires good management in the process of creative work. Secondly, through its creative work GestiSutis can contribute in the development of national economy. Keyword-creative work, design management, poster art.

Semarang is a city rich in cultural acculturation and historical relics of the past standing up straightly in the city of Semarang. One of the historical relics which were completely restored in 2014 was Sarekat Islam (SI) building. The building was neither uninhabited nor used for a long time before. And the owner in charge of it was also changed over and over. The method that we used in this research was historical observation, observing the process that occured in the building's shift function from time to time since GSI was founded. Interview and observation were also done. We have founded that many cultural, political and social interests existed and initiated the people movement at that time. Because of those reasons, SI Building encountered the building's shift function that could be crowned as one of the culture heritage buildings in Semarang. ABSTRAK Wingko adalah makanan yang berasal dari Kota Babad, Jawa Timur. Diperkenalkan di Kota Semarang oleh Ny. Mulyono pemiliki dari wingko babad "Cap Kereta Api". Produk wingko babad "Cap Kereta Api" itulah yang mempelopori masyarakat Semarang lainnya untuk memproduksi wingko dan menjadikannya makanan oleh-oleh khas Kota Semarang. Tujuan menganalisa gambar dagang wingko babad ini adalah untuk mengetahui citra apa yang ingin disampaikan oleh pemilik produk wingko babad. Dengan mengambil 3 contoh produk wingko babad, yaitu wingko babad cap Kereta Api, wingko babad cap Stoom Mini dan wingko babad cap Kapal Laut diharapkan dapat menemukan nilai brand dibalik ikon alat transportasi yang digunakan. ABSTRACT Wingko is food that comes from the Babad City, East Java. Introduced in Semarang by Ny. Mulyono owner of wingko Babad "Cap Kereta Api". Products wingko Babad "Cap Kereta Api" that pioneered community other Semarang to produce wingko and making food souvenirs typical of Semarang. The purpose of analyzing images wingko babad trade is to know what the image is to be conveyed by the product owner wingko babad. By taking 3 samples of products wingko babad, wingko babad Kereta Api, wingko babad cap Stoom Mini and wingko babad Kapal Laut is expected to find the value of the brand behind the iconic mode of transport used. Qualitative descriptive method through observation, literature study and interview the owners used to collect data. The analysis carried out by the theoretical approach brand brand image, brand equity, and brand loyalty. Illustration of transportation on almost all products wingko babad not just mimic of the pioneers, but indirectly raises the image of the food wingko itself, with illustrations of transportation, making the product Wingko Babad can more easily recognize and remember where wingko babad the on sale.

ABSTRAK Tipografi merupakan elemen dalam studi desain komunikasi visual yang berkenaan tentang huruf, salah satu penerapan tipografi yang paling unik adalah penggabungan huruf dengan suara (onomatopoeia). Tipografi onomatopoeia dalam desain komunikasi visual banyak dijumpai pada komik. Huruf yang mempunyai karakter masing-masing tersebut dipadukan dengan efek suara dan divisualkan sebagai bagian dari teks dalam komik "Tigan Ngasak Batavia" karya Bengkel Qomik Surakata. Masalah yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana peran tipografi onomatopoeia dalam komik yang dianalisis melalui klasifikasi suara dan pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes yakni denotatif dan konotatif. Metode penelitian kualitatif yang digunakan meliputi wawancara, studi pustaka dan dokumen. Hasil temuan dari penelitian ini adalah: tipografi onomatopoeia berfungsi sebagai penentu cerita, pembagian secara klasifikasi sumber suara dan klasifikikasi efek suara dalam komik sangat merata. Tidak semua efek bunyi yang dihadirkan pada komik "Tigan Ngasak Batavia" merupakan bunyi sesungguhnya, hal tersebut justru menjadi daya tarik dan penyeimbang komedi pada saat adegan konflik berlangsung. Tipografi onomatopoeia dalam "Tigan Ngasak Batavia" berperan penting dalam tugasnya, yakni membantu pembaca mendengar dengan mata. Hal ini menjadi suatu bukti bahwa teks dalam komik mempunyai kekuatan yang besar dalam menyampaikan pesan. ABSTRACT Typography is an element of study in visual communication design related to letter. One of the most unique applications of typography is the combination of letter with sound (onomatopoeia). Typography of onomatopoeia in visual communication design can be found in comic. The font with its own characteristic is combined with the sound effect and then visualized as a part of text in comic "Tigan Ngasak Batavia" by Bengkel Qomik Surakarta. The problem discussed in this research is how the role of typography onomatopoeia in comic analyzed through sound classification and semiotic approach of Roland Barthes that is denotative and connotative. The method of qualitative research used includes interview, library study, and document. The result of research is that typography onomatopoeia has a function as the story determiner. The dividing of sound source classification and sound effect in comic is completely spread. Not all of the sound effect presented in comic "Tigan Ngasak Batavia" shows the original sound. It exactly becomes the attractiveness and stabilization of comedy when the conflict takes place. Typography onomatopoeia in "Tigan Ngasak Batavia" has a very important function that is helping audience to hear by eyes. Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang Potensi Pariwisata di Desa Katurei Kecamatan Siberut Barat Daya Kabupaten Kepulauan Mentawai. Oleh karena itu, berkaitan dengan pengembangan pariwisata yang terjadi di Desa Katurei, studi ini mendeskripsikan hal-hal yang menjelaskan tentang apa saja potensi wisata di Desa Katurei. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan data kualitatif. Data diperoleh dari studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dari hasil yang diperoleh menjelaskan bahwa Desa Katurei memiliki potensi sebagai desa wisata. Sayangnya kurang adanya pergerakan dari BUMDes membuat desa Katurei belum dapat mengembangkan potensi wisatanya sehingga diharapkan adanya kegiatan pendampingan bagi anggota BUMDes. Desa Wisata diharapkan dapat membantu permasalahan perekonomian yang ada di desa Katurei. 

Used-goods or scraps do not only pollute the environment but also damage the aesthetics of the environment visually. Handling those scraps wrongly could cause the environment be a slum area. In contrary, by handling those scraps in a good way could not only avoid the diseases but also could upgrade the quality of the environment. One of the examples is what Kampong Pelangi society has done to their environment. Kampong Pelangi which is now a unique tourist spot in the city of Semarang has succeeded to recycle used-goods (reuse) to be the products that not only be used but also be elements of aesthetics enhancement in the village area. Because of those reasons, we are attracted to write of this research paper. The research method is qualitative study with observation approach, interview, and literature study. The expecting results of the discussion are the identification of used-goods that are used by Kampong Pelangi society. Thus, those recycled-goods become part of the visual aesthetics which become one of elements of tourism in Kampong Pelangi.
