Il Tramonto
April 06, 2009
On the fifth of March, Marijn van Dijk, sang, accompanied by me and three friends, Il Tramonto by Ottorino Respighi, a song for mezzo soprano and string quartet after the poem The Sunset by Shelley, at De Roode Bioscoop in Amsterdam. Below you can see a recording of that performance.
Due to (lack of) lighting conditions and audience proximity I am the only one of our ensemble who is barely visible. On the left you can make out my head, but not my violin, but you can hear me play the first violin part.
The recording was made by Christian Tan, who also uploaded it to Youtube and determined the moment where he had to split it in two because of Youtube’s 10 minute rule.
