How to Apply
The Application
To apply, please complete the application form, adding a title and short abstract of your presentation topic in the corresponding fields, as well as the information on your faculty mentor.
In addition, you will need to upload:
- a budget that reflects the costs of attending the conference (registration, etc.)
- a letter of acceptance from the conference, or other verification that you will be presenting
After submission, an automated email will be sent to your faculty mentor, asking him/her to upload a brief Statement of Support of your presentation. Once the mentor uploads the statement and accepts the form, your application will be complete and it will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
The Process
- Ask your project advisor for a statement of support
- Draft a short abstract describing your presentation topic
- Complete the OURSD Program Application, including the upload of your application documents
- If you wish, meet with Richelle Bernazzoli, our Director
Applications are accepted year-round - there is no deadline.
Acceptance
FOR NCUR PITTSBURGH APPLICANTS ONLY: Once you have applied using the above instructions and received email notification of your approved Presentation Award, please complete these steps: (DO NOT COMPLETE THESE STEPS UNTIL YOU HAVE APPLIED AS STATED ABOVE AND RECEIVED AN ACCEPTANCE EMAIL FROM OUR OFFICE.)
- Complete this NCUR Presentation Award Google Form
- Complete this AP Direct Deposit Form and email it to Jen Weidenhof
Payment of your award will be direct-deposited to the account listed on the AP Direct Deposit Form within 2-3 weeks of submission of the forms above. We recommend that you register for NCUR as soon as possible if you are able to submit the payment on your own and be reimbursed with the funds from our office.
FOR ALL OTHER APPLICANTS: Once you have received notification of an approved Presentation Award, please download this CONTRACT. The contract must be completed by yourself, your faculty mentor, and the faculty’s business manager, then returned to Jen Weidenhof. If your faculty mentor is from an organization outside of Carnegie Mellon, please contact Jen Weidenhof for further instructions.
