COURSE GOALS
Students begin to recognize the value of an engineering notebook to document and capture their ideas. They are introduced to and use the design process to solve problems and understand the influence that creative and innovative design has on our lives. Students use industry standard 3D modeling software to create a virtual image of their designs and produce a portfolio to showcase their creative solutions.
ASSESSMENT
According to District Policy, grades will be calculated based on 10% for formative assessment and classroom assignments and 90% for summative assessment. What is graded? Classwork & Projects o These are the largest parts of your grade! Tests & Quizzes o There will not be many tests/quizzes because this is a VERY hands-on class. o Many of the projects in the class will serve as an assessment. Homework o Due to the nature of the class and the software run on the computers, most work will be completed in class. Occasional homework will be given with the due date. Homework is expected to be turned in at the beginning of the hour.

Pencils Pocket folder or 3 ring binder Engineering notebook (provided)
