TYPES OF SPEECH Impromptu Speech Is without advance notice or preparation. If you attend a club meeting and suddenly decide to speak or for or against a motion you will be delivering in an impromptu speech. Formal Speech Is written in advance and read practically word for word.
Extemporaneous Speech Is thoroughly in advance but the wording is not memorized. Though this is the difficult kind of speech to deliver, it can be unusually effective.
