1. Answer the followings questions: -
a) Differentiate between the non-coplanar concurrent forces and non-coplanar non-
concurrent forces with suitable figures and examples. (2)
b) State Lamis Theorem. (1)
c) Difference between Perfect, Deficient and Redundant Frames. (1)
d) When a body is said to be in equilibrium? (1)

2. A block weighing W = 20KN is resting on an inclined plane as shown in fig.1.
Determine its components normal to and parallel to inclined plane.

3. A sphere weighing 100 KN is resting in trough as shown in fig.2. Determine the
reactions developed at contact surfaces (1 & 2). Assume all contact surfaces are
smooth. (3)









4. For the given below simply supported beam AB in fig.3. Calculate the support
reactions and moments at supports and points C, D and E. All dimensions are in metre.

5. A truss of 12 m span is loaded as shown fig.4. Determine the forces in the members
BD, CE, and CD of the truss. (5)
