proi%e% in these #ui%elines to ensure le#i3ilit! an%
uniformit!. The #ui%elines are %esi#ne% to re%uce the
amount of white space an% ma7imi(e the amount of te7t that
can 3e place% on one pa#e. Please %o not use /'TE8.

multiple authors from multiple institutions. If the paper
has one author use the affiliation la!out as shown at the
top of this %ocument where all the author information is
liste% un%er the paper title. For multiple authors$ from
the same institution$ list the common uniersit!$ then list
the email a%%resses at the en% in the same or%er as the
authors appear in the 'uthor /istin#. For multiple
authors from multiple institutions list the author names
un%er the title$ then list the author emails un%er their
names. '%%itional information for multiple authors can
3e a%%e% to the 'uthor Information section at the en% of
the paper.

I. Column Format Instructions
The title an% author %ata is in one2column format$ while the
rest of the paper is in two2column format. To accomplish
this$ most wor% processors hae a section 3rea- that is
installe% to separate the one an% two2column format. For
e7ample$ in Word$ un%er the Insert menu select >rea-s G
Continuous.
'fter !ou enter the title an% author information enter a
few 3lan- lines an% then insert a Continuous section 3rea-.
+ow !ou must %efine this section to 3e in two2column
format. To %o this in Word$ un%er the :Format: menu select
:Columns.@ This option will open the Columns win%ow. It
has an input 3o7 for the num3er of columns. Enter 2 an%
then set the spacin# to 0.2: an% select eHual column wi%ths.
If !ou hae the mar#in wi%ths set correctl!$ the wi%th of the
column shoul% %ispla! as E.F0.@ If it %oes not$ #o to the
:File: menu an% select ?Pa#e Setup 2 6ar#ins.@ This will
open the :Pa#e Setup: win%ow that will allow !ou to set the
top an% 3ottom mar#ins to 1: an% the ri#ht an% left mar#ins
to 0.CD.@ Eer! wor% processor will hae its own metho% of
accomplishin# the a3oe settin#$ howeer$ most follow the
same format.
For :9or- in Process: or :Panel Session: su3missions$
if the paper %oes not fill the entire pa#e an% coers more
than F inches of the first column$ please 3alance the paper
within the two2columns. The easiest wa! to %o this is to
insert a section 3rea- at the en% of the %ocument.
II. Font and Spacing Instructions
Use the full .ustif! option for !our columns$ an% use two2
columns in all pa#es. The two columns must alwa!s e7hi3it
eHual len#ths an% !ou shoul% tr! to fill !our last pa#e as
much as possi3le. To o3tain such results$ !ou are free to
a%.ust the fi#ure si(es proi%e% this %oes not compromise
their clarit!. Use one line of space 3etween te7t an% section
hea%in#s. Use one line of space 3etween te7t an% captions$
eHuations$ an% ta3les. Use the spellin# an% #rammar
