Acrylic Technical Data

Acrylic sheet is resistant to many chemicals including sulfuric, hydrochloric, and nitric acids up to certain concentrations at 60°C, as well as caustic soda up to 50% and aqueous ammonia up to 18%. It is resistant to corrosion from hexane, octane, formaldehyde, methanol, ethanol, and glycol at room temperature. However, it will dissolve in chloroform, benzene, toluene, xylene, and acetone at room temperature. Physically, acrylic sheet has a specific gravity of 1.19, hardness of M-100, water absorptivity of 0.3%, and high tensile, bending, and heat distortion temperatures.
