Dear Student, The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a test conducted by the Symbiosis International University the test is conducted at the National level to ensure that meritorious students are admitted to the various constituent institutes of Symbiosis International University The test is conducted in various cities to ensure that maximum number of student get the advantage to appear for the entrance test and thereby get admitted to the prestigious institutions of Symbiosis International University. Dear Student, The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a test conducted by the Symbiosis Test Secretariat to judge the aptitude of the student for a particular programme. This test is conducted in many cities for the convenience of students and of parents too. Symbiosis has widened its horizon by including Engineering and Economics. This one single test makes you eligible for all undergraduate programmes of Symbiosis. I wish you all the best and welcome you to be a part of the Symbiosis family.

A candidate aspiring to pursue an undergraduate programme at Symbiosis needs to follow the 3 stages mentioned below: Stage-1: SET Test Register online at www.set-test.org You may register for one paper in the morning viz. Law or Engineering or Health Sciences and one paper in the afternoon session viz. General or Design. For Engineering and Health Sciences, if a candidate wishes to offer scores other than SET, he/she need not register for SET and apply directly to the concerned institute. You need to upload a latest scanned photograph of your own at the time of registration. Follow the instructions for payment of Test fee of Rs. 1500/- on the SET website. This includes charges for a prospectus of the Undergraduate Programmes at Symbiosis International University. Print Admit Card directly from the SET website from April 25, 2012. Bring the Admit Card and a Photo Identity to the Test Center. It will be authenticated during the Test. (Candidates shall preserve the authenticated Admit Card till the Admission processes of the desired Symbiosis Institutes are over. If the Admit card is lost, no duplicate Admit Card will be issued.) Appear for the Test.
Stage-2: Apply online to the desired SIUs constituent institutes. The SET website ( www.set-test.org ) allows a facility to directly apply online to an institute. Candidates may also apply from the institute/s website. To apply to an institute, a candidate must register for the relevant SET paper. For example, to apply to Symbiosis Law School, register for Law paper at SET. Candidates applying to Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT), Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS), Symbiosis College Of Nursing (SCON) or Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts [SSLA] with other than SET-2012 score should refer to the institute websites and apply.
Stage-3: Attend further selection process of the chosen institutes, if called. Each institute has its own cutoff, as mentioned in the prospectus. The institutes will announce a short list for attending further selection process. The individual institute as per their schedules will announce Short List & Waiting Lists. For details of selection process and schedules please refer to the website of respective institute/s.
Important
While adequate care is taken in ensuring that there are no mistakes in reading the answer sheet by the scanning machine, there is no provision of revaluation of the answer sheet of any candidate. The scores published by the Symbiosis Test Secretariat shall be final and shall not be subject to any appeal or revaluation. The SET Score card will be available on the website for a period of one month from the date of declaration of results i.e. from May 19, 2012 to June 19, 2012. Those candidates paying through cash or DD, should ensure that, 1. Bank Challan for cash payment, OR 2. Demand Draft along with Payment Advice Form for DD payment reaches Symbiosis Test Secretariat by 23rd April 2012. Symbiosis Test Secretariat will not be held responsible for non-delivery or any delay on the part of Courier / Postal Services. To complete registration process a candidate is required to register online for SET Test at www.set-test.org and appear for the test. It is also mandatory to complete registration by filling up the on line application form of the desired institute for the desired programme before the closing date of application of the respective institute.
SET Structure
a. Duration: SET duration is 150 minutes. b. SET is an objective test. c. Papers: SET is conducted in two sessions for FIVE question papers. A candidate may apply to take one paper from each session. d. Institutes: The constituent institutes use scores of the following for admission. SET is an aptitude test and objective in nature for all the papers. Each question has four options as answers. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. All sections are Mandatory. Step 3. Admit Card should be printed from the website. This will be operative from 25th April 2012 to 5th May 2012.
Log in with SET ID and password in SET website. Download and take print out of this. Bring the Admit card to the Test Center along with a photo-identity proof. An acceptable photo identity is any one of the following: Passport Driving license College / Institute identity card Credit card with photograph Voter Id Card
At the time of the written test, it is mandatory to produce the photo identity as described here. Symbiosis Authorized Person will verify and authenticate your Admit Card against the photo-id. Please preserve this authenticated Admit Card for further selection processes of individual Institutes. Note: Please note that no duplicate Admit Card will be issued in case it is lost by the candidate.
Important: SET Registration Fee is non-refundable. Please note that claims for refund of the SET Registration fee will not be entertained on any account. At the time of filling online application form or while appearing for SET test, any attempt to impersonate or indulge in any other malpractice would automatically disqualify the candidate from admission processes of all under Graduate Institutes of Symbiosis International University and make the student liable to legal prosecution as per the laws of country. Every student is urged to note that no donation or capitation fee is required to be paid for admission to any of the Symbiosis Institutes. Students are cautioned against falling prey to any such assurance/offer by any individual or outside agency.
Test Cities
SET Test is conducted in 18 cities. A candidate may choose any one city. The centre and its address will be informed to the candidate on the Admit Card.

Guidelines
1. For Morning Session, (Law, Engineering and Health Sciences Test) reach the Test Centre latest by 8.45 a.m. The test will start at 9.30 a.m. 2. For Afternoon Session (General and Design Test), reach the Test Centre latest by 1:45 p.m. The test procedure will start at 2:30 p.m. 3. Bring the following to the Test Centre: a. SET 2012 Admit Card: without which candidates will not be allowed to appear the test. b. Photo identity: Any one of the Following: Passport Driving license College/Institute identity card Credit card with photograph. Voters ID card. Blue/Black ballpoint pen.

Cell phones, calculators, watch calculators, alarm clocks, digital watches with built in calculators/ memory and any other electronic gadgets will not be allowed in the examination hall.
5. Occupy the seat allotted to you by verifying the SEAT No. written on the desk and indicated in your Admit Card. 6. The Test Invigilator will check your Admit Card. 7. The Test booklet will be distributed just before the starting time of the Test. When you get the test booklet, make sure that the booklet is in sealed condition. If the seal is found broken or tampered with, please bring this matter immediately to the notice of the invigilator. 8. The test invigilators will instruct you to open the seals of the test booklet 5 minutes before the start of the Test. 9. Check immediately that all the pages of the booklet are in order. In the rare event of the Test Booklet being defective, bring it to the notice of the invigilator immediately who will arrange for the replacement of test booklet, if required. 10. You are not allowed to leave the Hall till the Test is over and until the Invigilator collects the Answer OMRs. You will be allowed to leave the hall only after the answer sheets of all the candidates in your hall have been collected and accounted for. 11. Candidates found using any unfair means will forfeit their chance of being considered for admission and will be debarred from receiving SET scores. 12. Invigilator or Symbiosis Test Secretariat Representative will stamp and authenticate your Admit Card. *Please preserve this authenticated Admit Card for further selection processes of individual Institutes. Reservation Policy
As per the UGC guideline 2006 the following will be the reservation policy for all the institutes under the University. Symbiosis Centre for International Education takes care of International Students aspiring for admission to the Constituent Institutes of Symbiosis International University. To check if you are an international student, please refer to the categories listed. Categories under International Students Admissions: Foreign National (FN): A student is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN) if he/she holds a foreign passport. Person of Indian Origin (PIO): A student is eligible to apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) if he/she has a PIO card, and is a citizen of a country other than India. Non Resident Indian (NRI): A student is eligible to apply as a Non Resident Indian (NRI) if he/she has appeared either for the 10 or 10+2 (equivalent to the Indian 10th & 12th) examination outside India. Infrastructure / facilities Hostel, Library, Lab, Canteen, Club etc. These resources facilitate teaching-learning, co- curricular and extra-curricular activities in tune with the vision and mission: Library The Symbiosis Law School library is enriched with a vast collection of e-databases, books, journals, periodicals and magazines and is a prime source for legal research for both the faculty as well as the students. Augmenting traditional print resources with expanding electronic sources, it also provides extensive technology based learning resources with legal databases such as Manupatra, new SCC online web-edition, Lexis-Nexis, Hein-on- line, Westlaw, JSTOR, EBSCO and Index to Legal Periodicals. Students benefit from privileges of home- lending, book bank and distribution of study material.
Computer Lab Symbiosis Law School campus is a Wi-Fi campus. It has two state-of-the-art Computer Centers separate for UG and PG program. The Labs are fully equipped for wireless data transmission. Further, the students are guided to buy laptops at concessional rates which encourage the use of technology. Other Facilities All classrooms are equipped with LCD projectors & Wi - Fi connections. There is a well- equipped, airconditioned auditorium-cum-moot court hall, with the seating capacity of 150. The multi-media conference hall has a seating capacity of 50 to conduct, interactive sessions. Students train their talents through various curricular and extra -curricular activities enabled through Committees and Cells. These include debates, sports, quizzes, mock Parliament, model United Nations, dance-music, moot courts, mock trials, client counseling, legal aid clinics and other cell related activities. Health Services and Health Insurance The Health Center, which provides all emergency health services, has covered the students under a unique and novel medical insurance scheme with a free and compulsory yearly health check up. There is a well-equipped and modern gymnasium available within the campus Canteen Multi-cuisine food court of the campus is catering to a variety of menu and preferences concessional rate.

Hostel Very limited hostel facilities are available on campus. However, the institute will provide detailed information on the accommodation available in the near-by areas. Student Care, Student Council, Cells and Committees As a preferred mode, student care is managed through personalized mentoring by faculty, student buddies and expert-driven academic success/remedial program. Elaborate Induction, counseling and discipline codes ensure leveling and strong foundation for professional grooming. Various student activities including cultural festivals are led by the Student Council. Students have the opportunity to participate in co-curricular activities and extra- curricular activities which include moot courts, elocution, debates, civil service study circle and quizzes besides cells such as Human Rights Cell, ECOCON, LawEcon, TechLegal, Corporate Law and Legal Aid and Literacy Cell. One of the major highlights of the activities organized by the Students Council was Symbhav the annual student festival. SLS Pune is always in the process of grooming student leadership which is nurtured by the Rotaract Club and various unique young professional training programme offered throughout the student lifecycle. Programmes offered : Under Graduate: B.A. L.L.B. and B.B.A. L.L.B. [5 years integrated programme] Other Programs offered: i. Post-Graduate programs: The LLM programme with an interdisciplinary approach with five specializations in the study of law and research orientation by underlining the relevance of research methodology. The student has the option of a cafeteria approach in terms of specialization, cross specialization courses combining innovation, cutting edge legal acumen and theoretical insights. Students of both PG and UG programs can avail placement training throughout the year. Students are trained, groomed and chiseled to be the best employable, with the combination of managerial skills, leadership skills and a broad range of professional skills such as legal reasoning skills, advocacy, legal services, legislation, law reforms and advisory. Substantial placement opportunities are gained from various sectors including PSUs, law firms, banking and finance companies, LPOs, judiciary and insurance.
ii. Diploma: Fifteen Part-time one year Diploma Programs and one Post-Graduate Diploma Programme are available as value- addition. Many students pursue these programs alongside their Undergraduate or Masters Program. iii. Certificate Programs Nine certificate programs offer choice and value addition. These include the much-acclaimed Certificate in European Legal Studies and Certificate in Securities Laws, among others All the programs are offered in a combination of innovative teaching methods which are essentially learner-centric, including lectures, Socratic methods, field visits, seminars, group discussions, simulations, case studies, moots, mock trials and ICT-enabled learning by the international guest faculty and guest sessions by the stalwarts of the field. Eligibility a. The candidate should have passed 12th (10+2) examination from any recognized board/university with minimum 50% marks (45% for S.C. /S.T. students) in one attempt (No compartment). Students who have appeared for their H.S.C finals and awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing certificate by the announced date. b. Age Limit: Candidate should be less than 20 years of age at the time of appearing for SET as on 05 May 2012 (2 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates i.e. 22 years).

Library The main objective is to provide innovative, responsive and effective services, which will meet the changing needs of the academic community. Our library provides a range of books, periodicals, Eresources and other media at appropriate levels for the need of the students. We have to access the worlds best electronic reference databases like EBSCO, DELNET. Lab SICSR has truly world class, state-of-the-art Computer Labs which includes powerful servers, dedicated Internet and email access, desktop PCs and laser / all in one laser printers etc. All computers are connected to a 10/100/1000 Mbps network, which in turn is connected to Gigabit Ethernet. For the Internet, there is 24 x 7 connectivity through 2 leased lines with 4 Mbps and 2 Mbps each. The labs are equipped with Hardware Firewall and content filtering tools with latest Antivirus Gateway level Scanning. Canteen Our canteen is not only a place to fill appetite but also a venue for a mlange of ideas and views to converge and give rise to innovative ventures. It has a mess, which offers vegetarian delicacies, & caters to diverse palates. Delicious food is prepared following strict standards of hygiene. Teaching Aids and Pedagogy SICSRs approach to teaching includes a combination of lectures, class discussion, group work self study and has developed e-learning portal using Moodle, for blended learning evaluation and continuous evaluation of students. SICSR uses blended learning techniques and Kirkpatrick techniques. Health and Medical care and Gym The Symbiosis Center of Health Care (SCHC) provides an in house, modern, state of art health club & fitness centre with a view to facilitate a holistic development of mind & body for an all round development of our students. Each student is insured under the Mediclaim & Road Traffic Accident Policy.

Programme offered Bachelor of Business Administration - (BBA) Pune The BBA programme is a full-time, three-year graduation programme, which aims at transforming a student into a corporate personality. Cafeteria Approach We have successfully launched Cafeteria Approach from Academic Year 2011-12 offering a general BBA or BBA with single and dual specialization. Bachelor of Science Medical Technology SPECIALIZATIONS The programme offers specializations in the following areas: 1. Cardiac Care Technology: The Cardiac Care Technologist is responsible for direct and indirect patient care, haemo-dynamic monitoring, equipment set up and operation. They assist the physician during cardiac procedures and assume responsibility for completion of other cardiac lab functions. 2. Respiratory Therapy: The Respiratory Therapist is a key member of the medical team, specializing in diagnostics, treatments and procedures in the care of patients with respiratory problems. They evaluate, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders. 3. Dialysis Technology: Dialysis Technologists operate machines that remove waste and excess fluids from the blood of patients whose kidneys can no longer carry out those functions satisfactorily. The programme is designed to provide competencies & technical skills necessary in the field of dialysis.
4. Imaging Sciences Technology: Imaging Sciences Technologists are health professionals who facilitate diagnosis and management through the creation of medical imaging modalities like Xray, Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance and Computed Tomography. 5. Clinical Lab. Technology: Clinical Lab. Technology is concerned with the analysis of biological specimens to support diagnosis and treatment of disease. Laboratory Technologists perform a full range of laboratory tests, the information of which influences the medical treatment a patient will receive. 6. Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology: The Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technologist is responsible for direct and indirect patient care, equipment set up, Pre, Intra & Post operative procedures. We have an excellent 585 seat fully air-conditioned auditorium (ac 110 ton capacity; wooden stage 82X22 with frontage 42X22; Movie screen 16X9) with state-of-the-art LCD Projector and sound system. Hostel (boys / girls) We have two hostels for girls 1.5 km away from the campus Girls Hostel (MHADA) with 375 seats on three sharing basis and Girls Hostel Rohal Mithila with 459 seats on two, three and four sharing basis and one hostel for boys at Sakore Nagar with 176 seats on two sharing basis. Dining Hall, 24 hour hot water supply, Generator backup, 24 hour security and housekeeping as well as laundry services are provided at the hostels. Cable TV connections and refrigerators/ deepfreeze are also available as common facility. At Sakore Nagar Hostel, 30 deluxe rooms with ac, cable TV and fridge are also available. Girls Hostel (MHADA) and Rohal Mithila is 1.5 km away from Campus and Boys Hostel Sakore Nagar 200 meters. Bus facility is also available for the Hostel students. Canteen A spacious mess (5000 Sq. Ft.) with dining capacity 500 is available at the basement. Breakfast, lunch and dinner at reasonable rate are provided to the students. Food is vegetarian and non vegetarian. Weekly menu for the mess is finalized by the Sr. Campus Administrator based on inputs from students and displayed at the mess. Symbiosis Entrance Test 2012: 5th May 2012. The admission of the eligible candidates to B. Tech program of the institute will be based on merit in (SET, IIT-JEE, AIEEE or MHT-CET) through open counseling, in which the candidate has to be physically present on the date of counseling along with his/her original certificates. It is widely used for conducting interactive sessions, seminars,and workshops. Cyber Lab SLS-NOIDA campus is Wi-Fi campus. It also encompasses three states of art computer labs having 130 computer systems, all having Core 2 Duo Processors with 2 GB RAM, genuine software packages such as Windows7 Operating System, Microsoft Office 2010 suite controlled through central server room operating on Cyberoam-UTM device. Health Services and Health Insurance SLS-NOIDA has an excellent Health center, manned by qualified and experienced Doctor to provide emergency health services. LL.B (Five Years Integrated Programme) Methods of Instruction English is the medium of instruction at SLS-NOIDA. Methods of instruction include interactive Lectures, Seminars, Group Discussions, Simulations, Plays, Case Studies, Moot Courts, Mock Trials, Small Group Workshops and TV-talk shows. In addition, under the Extension Lecture Series banner, inspirational and instilling talks of legal luminaries on weekly basis are regular features. The Method of Assessment The CGPA method of assessment is followed. In addition to the ongoing internal assessments, an external examination is conducted at the end of each semester. Internal evaluation is characterized by one project and minimum 2 of the following: Tutorial, Case Analysis, Cases and Open problems, Essays, Seminar Presentations, Viva-Voce, Quiz, Drafting, Moot Court, Mock Trial, Learning Logs/Diaries, Computer Based Assessment, Simulated Interviews, and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations. External examination is characterized by objective and subjective questions. Placement It is mandatory on every student from the first semester itself to undergo training during the winter and summer vacation, record of such daily work is recorded in the Internship diary provided to each student, which is later submitted to the SLS-NOIDA. Throughout the year, the Training and Placement Cell organises training programmes to endow and improve the students with the best combination of managerial and leadership skills, to inculcate among them the courtroom or office etiquettes, research experience and advocacy skills. SLS-NOIDA provides all the facilities at all levels to assist the students for Internship and placements in offices of Advocates & Solicitors, Corporate & Cooperative houses, Tribunals & Commissions, Non-Governmental Organizations, National & Multinational Corporations, Media, Telecommunications &Entertainment industries and Judicial clerkship. The Training and Placement cell functions throughout the year and remains in touch with the aforesaid establishments through SIU alumni base. Candidate who has appeared for their H.S.C finals and awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing certificate by the notified date. Applicants who have obtained 10+2 through Open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible for the professional Law Courses. Canteen facility Canteen facility is available in the campus with a variety of food items at reasonable prices, in a clean and hygienic environment. Programmes offered The Institute currently offers one 3 year full time BBA degree programme.
