The Creek County Literacy Programs 16th Annual Spelling Bee is April 3Its Time for You to BEE Back in School!
Its time for Sapulpas most fun and entertaining event the Creek County Literacy Programs Annual Spelling Bee, Thursday April 3, 6:30pm at Sapulpa High School Commons. Back for the 16th year, the Spelling Bee will no doubt be another intense, grueling and fun-filled spelling competition. Its Time for you to BEE Back in School is this years theme. How will YOUR team BEE Back in School dressed as football players, gym teachers, nerds, cheerleaders, librarians, jocks or the Homecoming Court? However you come, just make sure you arent tardy! We are having dinner school cafeteria style dont lose your lunch ticket or worse get detention! Enjoy the great dinner, silent auction, door prizes and greatly anticipated Spelling Bee! Its time to BEE Back in School with all your friends and Creek County Literacy Program! Money raised from the Spelling Bee furthers our Mission, which is to encourage, educate and equip aspiring readers to overcome the barriers of illiteracy, explained Melissa M. Struttmann, Executive Director of Creek County Literacy Program. This fundraiser makes up approximately 9% of our annual operating budget. Corporate teams of three compete for the coveted traveling trophy while helping lead the fight against illiteracy. Trophies are awarded to the Overall Winner, top Bank, School, Civic & Club, Business and Public Service. Prizes are also awarded for Best Team Name, Best Theme Costumes and Best Spellers at the end of the evening. The cost for a team is $175 which includes open seating and dinner for three, and three exclusive event T-Shirts. Additional sponsor levels are available. Join us as a Bee Keeper - Spectators are invited to show their support for only $35! Who will prevail this year and take home the top prize? Megan hopes to encourage a love of reading between parents and children through this event. The Literacy Night is camping-themed and will offer lots of fun activities geared around reading.
The Mission of the Creek County Literacy Program is to encourage, educate and equip aspiring readers to overcome the barriers of illiteracy.
