Why did Socrates commit suicide?
- According to his pupil, Plato, and other Greek historians, Socrates
committed suicide by drinking the poison hemlock. He had been
convicted by an Athenian jury of corrupting the young and of spurning
the Athenian gods.
XENOPHON
- Means "foreign voice", derived from Greek (xenos) "foreign, strange"
