Chapter One:
Im fine. Dont worry an eighteen year old girl chuckled as she pulled her mothers hand away from
her forehead
Im not convinced Tiffany. What if you faint again her mother scolded
Then Id already be in the hospital Tiffany re-assured
Thats going to calm her down a LOT an older male said sarcastically
Tiffany chuckled
Well it was the best I could come up with
Tiffany are you sure youre going to be okay? her mother asked again
Yes Umma Tiffany rolled her eyes
The mother bit her lower lip and frowned
She wont be able to do anything stupid here mom the male reassured
The mother nodded hesitantly before walking out of the room
At least I hope she wont he said as he shot a glare at Tiffany
Tiffany held her hands up defensively as the blonde boy and her mother walked out of the room
Finally Tiffany sighed as she gave herself a face palm
Heheh. I think I should be saying that a voice interrupted
Tiffany looked over to her right where the voice came from
Im sorry, couldnt help myself the owner of the voice chuckled apologetically
The voice belonged to a young girl, maybe a year older then her, on the bed besides Tiffanys. The
owner had short black hair with blonde tips and a bang fringe. She had milky white skin and pearl
white teeth with her bottom row having cutely crooked strays. Along her arm, Tiffany noticed that
she also had a few needles dug into her arms
Im sorry about my mother and my brother disturbing your rest Tiffany apologized sincerely
The girl just giggled at Tiffanys reaction
Its okay. Beats the constant sound of the heart monitors any day the girl smiled
Tiffany smiled at the girls remark
Seems to be like your first time in hospital, Tiffany the girl kept up a conversation
Tiffany was taken aback by the fact that this girl knew her name
Oh sorry. I just heard your mom call you by your name. Im Taeyeon, Kim Taeyeon the girl held out
her hand as a greeting
Its okay. It just caught off guard a little. Im Tiffany, Hwang Tiffany Tiffany responded to the
outstretched hand and gave a quick hand shake
So is it your first time here? Taeyeon asked again after they got the greetings over and done with
Yeah... I was admitted to hospital because I fell unconscious. My mother was over protective and
insisted that I stay here for a while Tiffany smiled at the memory of her mother
I see. Well just a tip, dont even bother opening the food here. Just leave it aside for the nurses to
come get it. Ill show you a place where you can get some proper food Taeyeon chuckled
Thanks. Id appreciate that Tiffany smiled at her new found friend
Psst. Sleepy head. Wake up Taeyeon whispered as she nudged the sleeping Tiffany
Oh, Taeyeon Tiffany sat up and tried to wake herself up
Time for dinner Taeyeon smiled as she tugged on Tiffanys hand
Tiffany looked at the clock that hung above the room to see that it was indeed time for dinner
Bring something warm Taeyeon whispered as she went to check the hallway outside the ward
Tiffany noticed Taeyeon wearing some skinny jeans with a big blue hoodie over her head.
Psst hurry Taeyeon whispered
Tiffany got out of her bed and walked over to the closet to grab a jacket before following behind
Taeyeon
Okay we have exactly three minutes before the new shift comes. Okay? Taeyeon whispered
urgently
Tiffany nodded
3...2...1... Go! and with that Taeyeon quickly snuck out of the ward and dashed down the hallways.
Tiffany wasnt too far behind
As they ran down the hallway of the hospital they were careful not to bump into any nurses or
doctors. They peeped on the side of the walls before quickly running for cover. They also didnt use
the elevator and instead took the stairs
Finally they reached the bottom floor near the reception and waiting room
Okay act casual Taeyeon told Tiffany
Tiffany nodded before strutting out into the waiting room
Taeyeon scurried beside her
Too casual Taeyeon whispered
Tiffany then lessoned her struts and started to walk normally as she followed Taeyeon outside
Ahhh... Finally Taeyeon said as she stretched in the open
Tiffany was honestly glad to be out of the miserable ward and out in the open again. She really
didnt understand why her mother had sent her to stay in the hospital
Now for some real food Taeyeon exclaimed as she skipped down the street
You sure are comfortable with a stranger Tiffany remarked at Taeyeons friendliness with her
Taeyeon stopped her skipping and flashed Tiffany a pearly white smile
Youre my friend not a stranger Taeyeon said confidently before skipping down the street again
Tiffany smiled at Taeyeons declaration of friendship
As the two were walking down the street, Taeyeon paused in front of an open restaurant
Hyoyeon! Yoona! Taeyeon called out as she took a seat
Tiffany hesitantly followed
The food here is great Taeyeon reassured as two girls around their age walked up to their table
Aish. Taeyeon you really got to stop doing this. It wont be long before you get caught the girl with
the black hair scolded
Well then I better make the most of it Taeyeon rebutted
We should really stop serving her the girl with the brown hair muttered
Taeyeon chuckled
Then an older man approached them
Yah! Taeyeon! You should have told me you were coming the man smiled as he patted Taeyeons
head
Tiffany felt a little left out of the reunion and fidgeted her feet uncomfortably
Oh by the way everyone, this is Tiffany Hwang. A new friend of mine Taeyeon gestured to Tiffany
Tiffany gave a nervous smile before greeting them
Hello Tiffany said nervously
The three girls gave Tiffany a reassuring smile
Nice to meet you. Im Im Yoona the girl with the black hair introduced herself
Im Kim Hyoyeon the girl with the brown hair smiled
And I'm Timmy the older man gave a peace sign
And together they make the idiots team Taeyeon said proudly as she clapped
All three of the girls shot her a glare, which only caused her to laugh loudly
Nice to meet you all Tiffany relaxed a little after the introduction
So since Taeyeon brought you here, you must be from the hospital? Timmy asked curiously
Tiffany nodded
I was just admitted in today Tiffany smiled
I see. Have you tasted the food? Hyoyeon asked
Tiffany shook her head
I was advised not to
Good. Their food is HORRIBLE Yoona exclaimed
Taeyeon, Timmy and Hyoyeon nodded in agreement
Oh? Tiffany raised both her eyebrows in surprise
Weve been admitted to the hospital before. Well except Yoona. Taeyeon brought her a sample
once Hyoyeon chuckled
Taeyeon smirked at the memory
I still dont believe you can call something like that food Yoona shook her head in disappointment
Talking about food. You two must be hungry. Well give you our best dish, just wait two moments
Timmy said before he dashed back into the kitchen
He then popped her head back out
Youre not allergic to anything are you? Yuri called out
Yoona and Hyoyeon looked at Tiffany expectantly

All clear! Yoona called back
Timmy then made an ok sign with his fingers before disappearing again in the kitchen
Really Taeyeon. You shouldnt bring patients out in the cold Hyoyeon then started to scold
Taeyeon
Taeyeon gave Hyoyeon an innocent pout
Its okay. Im completely fine. I just have over protective parents... thats all Tiffany reassured
Oh. Well they must have a reason for sending you there in the first place Yoona crossed her arms
and listened attentively
I just fell unconscious from dehydration, thats all Tiffany smiled
Have you been drinking plenty of water? Hyoyeon asked worriedly
Tiffany didnt answer that
They dont make her drink. Its more... inserted Tiffany tried to find the right words
They jabbed needles into her and filled her up with water. Kinda like a water balloon Taeyeon
explained
Water balloon? Yoona raised her eyebrow
Jab the hose in and then fill it up with water. I see no difference Taeyeon shrugged
Tiffany giggled at Taeyeons description
What about you. Still getting needles? Hyoyeon asked Taeyeon
Taeyeon let out a sigh
They switched to tablets. Now I have to taste the chemicals Taeyeon made a disgusted face
It was then that Tiffany realised that she didnt know why Taeyeon was admitted to the hospital
Okay. Two bowls of ramen Timmy style Timmy interrupted Tiffanys thought and set down two
bowls of piping hot ramen
Wow Tiffany exclaimed
Enjoy Timmy smiled
Emm. Yoona? Hyoyeon? I think you have customers? Taeyeon said as she pointed to the people in
the seats
Oh right. Well enjoy Hyoyeon said before dashing off to take their orders
Timmy then dashed back into the kitchen to prepare the orders while Yoona took them out to the
customers
Well eat up. This is what you call real food Taeyeon smiled as she rubbed her hands together
Thanks Tiffany smiled as she took up her chopsticks and began to eat
Shhh... Taeyeon hushed at she peeked over the side of the wall
Taeyeon and Tiffany were back from eating and were trying to sneak back into the hospital. It was a
lot harder now as visiting hours were over and a lot more nurses were around
Slowly and steadily Taeyeon and Tiffany crept down the last hallway to their room
Ahem
Taeyeon and Tiffany jumped at the sound behind them
Taeyeon... I see youve disregarded my warnings... again
Taeyeon slowly turned around behind her and swallowed hard when she saw who it was
A tall, skinny, short-hair brunette, around her early twenties was towering over her with her arms
crossed
Tiffany honestly felt as though she had been caught for murder as a cold gush of wind blew past her
as she turned to see the nurse glaring down at her
Oh hey Sooyoung-ah... Taeyeon greeted casually but nervously
Sooyoung raised her eyebrow accusingly at Taeyeon
I was just... ermm... going to the vending machine to get some... snacks Taeyeon lied
Where are your snacks then? Sooyoung questioned
We... ate them Taeyeon gave a wide smile
Uh huh. Well I just got a call from Timmy. Apparently it wasnt all you ate Sooyoung stuck her
tongue on the side of her cheek making and annoyed expression
That snitch Taeyeon grumbled
Did you really have to drag Tiffany along with you? One patient is enough to deal with Sooyoung
groaned
Well I just didnt want her to starve Taeyeon explained

Tiffany said nothing on the matter
You know that youre not supposed to be out there Sooyoung gave a worried sigh
I know I know. But you know how I cant take the food in here Taeyeon slumped her shoulders
down guiltily
Ill let you off this last time. If youre hungry call for me and Ill bring food for you Sooyoung gave a
defeated sigh
I just didnt want to trouble you Taeyeon shrugged
Araso. Go now before someone else catches you Sooyoung said as she shooed Taeyeon and
Tiffany away
Taeyeon gave Sooyoung a quick hug before dragging Tiffany back into the room
Tiffany let out a relieved sigh
Sooyoungs a friend of mine dont worry Taeyeon chuckled as she jumped back into her bed
A thought then occurred to Tiffany
You sure seem friendly with a lot of people here? Tiffanys comment had become a question
Taeyeon nodded
I try to get to know everyone around me
Oh... Tiffany said hesitantly
Youre wondering why Im in here arent you? Taeyeon asked Tiffany solemnly
Em... If you dont mind me... you know its your business and... Tiffanys voice trailed off
Taeyeon chuckled
Lets just say... Here is my second home... Im accident prone Taeyeon joked
Tiffany smiled at Taeyeons joke about herself
The next day Tiffanys mother came to visit her

Oh honey, are you feeling better now? her mother panicked frantically
Mom. Im okay. The doctors and nurses were really nice. I also met a friend here too Tiffany tried
to calm her down
Oh. A friend?
Tiffany nodded
Meet Taeyeon Tiffany said proudly as she gestured to the bed beside
Hello Mrs Hwang Taeyeon greeted as she jumped from her bed
Oh hello Taeyeon. Thank you for looking after my daughter. I hope she wasnt much trouble the
mother thanked
No trouble at all. Kept me company Taeyeon smiled
Thank you the mother thanked again before she turned back to Tiffany
Pack your things. Its time to go home her mother said
Tiffany nodded at her mothers order and started to pack her stuff when she noticed Taeyeon
looking at her.
Be sure to visit Taeyeon beamed as Tiffany looked at her
Tiffany smiled at Taeyeons words
I will Tiffany nodded
Taeyeon held out her pinky
Promise? Taeyeon smiled
Promise Tiffany smiled back as she took the pinky with her own and made the promise
Unfortunately Tiffany had to move to America soon after she was out of the hospital
Chapter Two:
Tiffany! Tiffany! Hey over here!
Tiffany was exiting the airport when she heard another girl call for her
Oh Yuri! Tiffany exclaimed when she saw the tall black haired figure
Welcome back to Korea. Still cant believe its been three years Yuri sighed as she gave Tiffany a
tight hug
Hehe. Yeah. Three years Tiffany struggled out of her grip
Yuri however didnt let go
Im sorry to hear about... you know Yuri mumbled into Tiffanys ear
Its okay... No ones perfect Tiffany smiled as she patted Yuris back
Yuri pulled away and looked into Tiffanys eyes
When will you be admitted?
Tiffany shrugged
I should probably go as soon as possible
Tiffany could see the sadness in Yuris eyes
Im sure there will be someone soon. Just, have to wait Tiffany reassured
Yuri nodded twice before returning a smile
Well lets get you rested. Im sure youre tired from your trip Yuri beamed as she took Tiffanys
luggage and headed for her Mercedes in the car park
Tiffany gave a bright smile as she fixed her hair and entered the passenger seat
Where you going Tiff? Yuri asked as she saw Tiffany walking out the door with her luggage
Like I said. The sooner the better Tiffany answered back with a nervous smile
Yuri came up to give Tiffany another hug
Ill come and visit Yuri whispered
Thanks Tiffany mumbled through Yuris embrace
Do you want me to take you? Yuri pulled Tiffany from her arms
No thanks. Im visiting a place first. Tiffany answered as she began to walk out
Ill see you tomorrow Yuri said sadly
Thanks Tiffany called back before entering the taxi which was waiting for her outside
The taxi pulled up at a restaurant where Taeyeon had taken Tiffany before. It had changed quite
drastically. It was renovated now to look like a high class private restaurant. There was even a
bouncer in the front controlling the people.
Psst. You want to get in faster? A figure beside Tiffany whispered
Tiffany jumped at the sudden noise beside her. She looked over to see a boy with an oversized
hoodie covering his cap. He was wearing simple clothing and yet still looked fashionable
Emm. I just wanted to visit and ask a few questions thats all Tiffany replied
Okay then. Come with me The figure said proudly as he grabbed Tiffanys hand and dragged her to
the front
Tiffany began to panic and pulled her hand away
Dont worry Im only taking you inside. Once in there Ill let you do whatever you like the boy
reassured as he walked up to the bouncer
The bouncer seemed to recognise the boy and opened the door for him. He then waved at Tiffany to
follow
Shes with me the boy said to the bouncer
The bouncer nodded as he escorted Tiffany inside
As Tiffany entered the restaurant she saw that the inside was warm and decorated in expensive
decor
Okay see you later the boy said as he disappeared to the counter
Tiffany stood there awestruck at the changes the once small restaurant had gone through
Table to one miss? a girl asked
Emm. Im wondering who the manger here is Tiffany said hesitantly
The girl was staring at Tiffany sceptically
You seem familiar the girl mumbled to herself

Tiffany smiled nervously as she took a good look at the girl. She looked oddly familiar too
Yoona? Tiffany exclaimed when she recognised who it was
Youre Taeyeons hospital buddy arent you? the girl exclaimed back
Yoona what are you doing? another girl came up and scolded
Oh, sorry to keep you waiting. Table for one? the girl apologized and offered
Hyoyeon look! Its Taeyeons buddy. You know, the one who was filled up like a water balloon
Yoona said as she pointed at Tiffany
Tiffany smiled at the memory of Taeyeons description
Ohhhhhhh. Water balloon! Long time no see! Come come. You have to meet Timmy Hyoyeon said
as she dragged Tiffany along
Tiffany frowned at her new found nickname as Yoona and Hyoyeon dragged her into the kitchen
Timmy! Water balloon is here! Hyoyeon yelled
Water balloon? a deeper voice called out
Taeyeons buddy Yoona explained
OH! the deeper voice exclaimed
Not long after that a figure emerged from the hot steam of the cooking food
My my my. Its nice to see you again... ermm... T-T-Talia? the man struggled to remember Tiffanys
name
Tiffany Tiffany corrected with a smile
Ah sorry Tiffany. Its just been a long time you see the man apologized
Timmy want us to make the food? Hyoyeon offered
Oh yes please Timmy said as he moved out of the way
So how you been? Timmy asked Tiffany
Great. I havent been in Korea for about 3 years now Tiffany smiled
Oh. Thats why you didnt come visit. I was starting to think you didnt like the food Timmy pouted
Ew. Gross a voice boomed from behind Tiffany
Tiffany turned around to see the boy who helped her before
This time Tiffany didnt see a boy. It was actually a girl

The girl took off her hood and her cap and gave Timmy a smile
Well thats not nice Taeyeon Timmy put his hands on his waist
Taeyeon? Tiffany whispered as she took a closer look at the girl
Oh its you. Hello the girl greeted
Timmy came from behind the girl and smacked the back of her head
Ow! What was that for? the girl exclaimed
Its water balloon! Dont you recognise her? Timmy scolded
The girl raised her eyebrow as she took a closer step towards Tiffany.
Hmmm the girl pondered
Tiffany started to panic
The girl stare was too intense
Then, out of nowhere. The girl pulled a weird face
Timmy once again hit the back of her head as the girl fell forward
Rude! Timmy exclaimed
Youre destroying my brain cells by doing that you know. You probably did that to Yoona. Thats
why she ended up the way she is now the girl complained
Hey! Yoona came from the kitchen holding a pan and aiming for the girl
Tiffany smiled at the three arguing and the girl caught sight of this
Tiffany! the girl exclaimed as she ran to hug her
Tiffany stumbled back a few steps from the impact
Id recognise those eye smiles anywhere. Remember me? Its me Taeyeon the girl said impatiently
Tiffany giggled at her impatience
Long time no see Taeyeon Tiffany answered back
Taeyeon then stepped back from the hug and frowned at Tiffany
Yeah. Long time she gave an accusing look
Tiffany gulped. She knew what Taeyeon was implying
Give the girl a break. She came back from America not too long ago Timmy chuckled as he pat
Taeyeons back
Oh Taeyeon said as she softened her expression
Well thats understandable then Taeyeon smiled as she gave Tiffany another hug
As the night went on it was time for them to leave
Hope to see you sometime Taeyeon called out before disappearing into the night
Oh em... Bye Tiffany didnt have enough time to say anything before Taeyeon was out of sight
Tiffany took a deep breath as she started making her way to the hospital
Oh. Tiffany Hwang right? Were expecting you the nurse said
Tiffany gave a nervous smile as the nurse walked her to her new room
As they were walking they heard people quarrelling
Im sorry. I got caught up. I met an old friend. Please dont punish me
Tiffany recognised the voice
As they were walking closer and closer to the two people Tiffany recognised the two
Oh Taeyeon Tiffany exclaimed
The two people looked over to Tiffany who had interrupted them
Tiffany. Hi Taeyeon said as she ran over to her
Tiffany looked at the other person. It was the nurse, Sooyoung
Oh. Long time no see Sooyoung greeted
The nurse which was escorting Tiffany went up and gave Taeyeon a flick to the head
Did you sneak out again? the nurse narrowed her eyes
Taeyeon hid behind Tiffany and nodded nervously
Sooyoung let out a chuckle
Youre doomed Taeyeon Sooyoung commented
Taeyeon gulped and nodded
Out of all the people it had to be HellSica Taeyeon sighed

HellSica? Tiffany raised her eyebrow
Taeyeon nodded as she pointed to the nurse
Jessica Jung. The most evil nurse in all of Korea Taeyeon whispered
Sooyoung let out a laugh
Come now Taeyeon. Stop scaring her and go back to your room Sooyoung said as she dragged
Taeyeons ear
Ow! Ow! Owwww! This isnt how you treat a patient Taeyeon complained as she went back to her
room
Tiffany finally had a thought
Taeyeon is still here after three years? Tiffany asked herself
Jessica caught part of Tiffanys sentence and gave a sigh
She wont stay here for much longer though Jessica said before walking off again
Tiffany raised her eyebrow
Oh thats good Tiffany smiled as she caught up
Jessica stopped walking and gave Tiffany a questionable look
Obviously understanding that Tiffany had misunderstood she sighed
Heres your room Jessica said as she opened a door
Thanks Tiffany thanked as she put her things inside
Have a good nights rest. The doctors will come and talk to you tomorrow Jessica said before she
walked out again
Tiffany took a deep breath as she set her stuff down
My new home Tiffany said as she got ready to get to sleep
Okay. Thanks doctor Tiffany said after the doctors explained her condition
As soon as we have a compatible donor we will start the operation. For now, stay here and well
monitor your condition the doctor repeated before he hung the clipboard on the side of the bed
and walked out
Tiffany sighed
Out of all the diseases I could have got, it had to be a heart disease Tiffany whispered to herself
Psst
Tiffany raised her eyebrow at the noise
Over here
Tiffany looked at the door to see Taeyeon standing there
I didnt know you were admitted here Taeyeon said as she walked up and took the seat next to her
Yeah... I was going to tell you last night but you left before I could Tiffany smiled
Ohhh Taeyeon exclaimed
Mianhe. I was already late and I knew Jessica had her shift that night so I rushed Taeyeon laughed
nervously
Tiffany giggled
Its okay
Taeyeon sat there drawing imaginary circles on the bed with her finger
So how was it in America? Taeyeon suddenly asked
Great... I guess... very different from here Tiffany answered
So Ive heard. I wish I could see it Taeyeon smiled sympathetically
Im sure you will get to see it. I can call my family to take you around Tiffany offered
Taeyeon gave a slow shake of the head
Its okay. I dont think Ill be able to go
Tiffany stared at Taeyeon curiously
I cant go because Sooyoung would miss me too much Taeyeon explained
Tiffany tilted her head to the side
Haha. Dont worry about it Taeyeon chuckled
Tiffany nodded slowly
So is your mom being over protective again? Taeyeon asked

Tiffany sighed
No, actually I have a reason to be here
Oh. I see Taeyeon awkwardly looked down
Well I hope you get well soon Taeyeon gave an awkward smile
Tiffany smiled back but it didnt last long
I highly doubt it Tiffany suddenly said
Taeyeon stared up into Tiffanys eyes
Oh Im sorry. Taeyeon apologized
Its okay Tiffany reassured
There was an awkward silence after that
Arent you going to ask? Tiffany suddenly broke the silence
Taeyeon just smiled at her sweetly
Its not my business. If you want to tell me you want to. Ill be sure to listen Taeyeon explained
Tiffany smiled at Taeyeons response

Two weeks later
And then Yoona completely drenched the guy in hot ramen coup Taeyeon then burst out into
laughter
Tiffany joined her as well
Taeyeon. Taeyeon! a nurse called out
Taeyeon let out a groan
The door then opened and Sooyoung stepped in
Time for your tablets Sooyoung said as she held up a small container
I really dont see a point in drinking them Soo Taeyeon whined
Sooyoung gave a sad smile

Well I do. Now come before I tie you down
Taeyeon then slowly dragged herself off Tiffanys bed and lazily took the container from Sooyoungs
hands. She tipped out the container and out came four pills. Taeyeon then quickly popped them into
her mouth and washed it down with water
Oh. Eugh. It doesnt get any better each time Taeyeon said with disgust
Sooyoung patted her back before taking the container and walking out
Tiffany had seen this scene many times when Taeyeon came over to visit her. She was desperately
trying to figure out what was wrong with Taeyeon but didnt have the nerves to ask
Taeyeon saw the confusion in Tiffanys eyes and smiled reassuringly
Ive got Emphysema. Its a disease which makes it difficult for me to breathe. My family are always
busy so they really cant take care of me. So they sent me here, with Sooyoung in charge Taeyeon
suddenly said
Tiffany stared at Taeyeon
Ive been here 8 years before you came till now. Like I said, here is my second home Taeyeon
smiled
Tiffanys jaw dropped
11 years.... Tiffany whispered
Thats half of my life Taeyeon chuckled trying to lighten the mood
Tiffany remained silent
Isnt there a cure? Tiffany whispered
Taeyeon rested her chin against the side of her bed
For now, no. The tablets that Sooyoung give me are supposed to help me Taeyeon then started
drawing circles on the side of the bed again
Tiffany recognised that Taeyeon would do that whenever she felt uneasy or nervous
I really shouldnt be walking out and about... but the room is just too quiet by myself. Its also why
they are so against me going out to Timmys restaurant
Does Timmy and the others know? Tiffany asked
Taeyeon nodded, her chin scrunching up against the bed as she did
They were against me as well at first. But I told them I wanted some time away from all the trouble
and stress. Made me relax every once in a while. Eventually they gave up and accepted me
The awkward silence then took over the room

Tiffany then took Taeyeons hand and lifted it up to her chest. She giggled at Taeyeons bewildered
expression
Relax. Can you feel it? Tiffany asked as she pressed Taeyeons palm against her chest
Taeyeon and Tiffany remained silent for a while
Your heart beat? Taeyeon broke the silence
My heart has a weak valve. I was diagnosed with this a while ago when I experienced a heart attack.
The only way I can be cured is if I have a new heart donor. I transferred to Korea because they have
the smallest waiting line Tiffany explained
Oh... Im sorry Taeyeon said slowly
Its not your fault, theres no need to apologize Tiffany chuckled
The silence took over the room again

Tiffany sighed and smiled at Taeyeons sudden burst of energy
She really is energetic for someone who has a lung disease Tiffany whispered to herself
Just as she finished she saw Taeyeon running back into the room and hiding beside her bed

Soon enough Jessica came through the door with a mad look on her face

herself as she went to find her

To her dismay she heard the door click behind her

Tiffany noticed that all the nurses and even doctors sighed with relief. She then bit her lower lip as a
giggle escaped her lips
I see shes caused quite a record for herself Tiffany smiled as she returned to her bed
Chapter Three:
Hey Jessica... Taeyeon said quietly
Answer is no Jessica said bluntly
But I havent said anything yet Taeyeon pouted

Taeyeon frowned as she sighed heavily while Jessica was running the check up
After a few minutes Jessica finally finished the check-up and was writing down the results onto the

break Jessica ordered as she walked to the nearest elevator
She seems a little out of it today Sooyoung said as she leaned against the side of the door frame
Taeyeon hopped off the bed and came up to Sooyoung.

Sooyoung chuckled along as she rested her arm against Taeyeons shoulder
So how was it? Sooyoung asked as she stared at Taeyeon warily
Taeyeon paused for a moment before looking up at Sooyoung
Great Taeyeon beamed as she walked off
Strangely enough she didnt walk back to Tiffanys room, but instead she went back to her own
Sooyoung was left dumbfounded as her arm was still hanging in midair. She then walked over to the
clipboard and checked the results

Sooyoung turned around to see that Jessica had returned. She then smiled sympathetically
She just doesnt want to ruin the mood Sooyoung defended
Jessica just rolled her eyes
That Tiffany girl seems to be making her a lot happier though Jessica shrugged
Sooyoung chuckled
Everyone needs a friend. Taeyeon finally found one that wont leave her so quickly

Tiffany! Good news! Taeyeon yelled as she burst the door open

Tsk Taeyeon exclaimed as she put her hand on her waist
She then walked up and examined Tiffanys bed
What? Tiffany asked curiously
Taeyeon then clicked the brakes of the bed on all four wheels

the head board

Taeyeon just smiled even wider as she pushed Tiffany out the door and onto the hallway
As the two of them whizzed past patients, visitors, nurses and even doctors, Taeyeon just smiled
politely as she bowed her head at them and said Good evening
Tiffany on the other hand wasnt so polite. Not only was she in an embarrassing situation but she
was also scared to death.
Taeyeon stop! Now! I swear once you stop I will never let you see tomorrow Tiffany yelled
Taeyeon chuckled at Tiffanys comment

Tiffany was about to retaliate to Taeyeons answer but was interrupted when Taeyeon narrowly
avoided a nurse

Tiffany peeked from the side of her hand to see a little kid on the side with a horrified look on their
face. She then quickly closed her eyes again and wished that Taeyeon would stop soon
Just as she had finished wishing, her bed came up to a stop. She then peeked again to see her inside
a room
Well that was easy Taeyeon beamed as she brushed her hands proudly
Tiffany then let out a sigh, not realising that she had been holding her breath all the way through the
ride
Now excuse me, Ill go finish up Taeyeon smiled as she gave a playful bow and walked out
Tiffany took a quick look around to see that the room looked familiar. When she realised that it was
the same room that she and Taeyeon shared three years ago she gasped before smiling widely
She noticed that the room was now decorated with different cards, pictures and stickers. Slowly,
Tiffany hopped off her bed and headed to the little corner which had paper with writing on it pinned
up against the window with the words facing outside

When Taeyeon exited the room she leaned against the wall next to the door and slid down. She then
pulled her knees up to her chest as she started to feel breathless

Oh my god. Taeyeon! Taeyeon heard Sooyoung yell as she came over and helped her up

Taeyeon then started to feel better and took her arm off Sooyoungs shoulders

The crowd slowly began to leave once Jessica joined in

into her shoulder

Sooyoung let out a frustrated scream and threw her hands into the air
That girl doesnt understand that she has a CHANCE to live Sooyoung exclaimed

I think after 11 years of staying here, anyone would lose their hope Jessica whispered

Its because she doesnt take care of herself. If she hadnt gone off by herself all those times she

Moments later the door opened and Tiffany was standing there with wide open eyes

Right now Taeyeon then gasped as she set the things down tiredly
Tiffany jumped back a little to avoid the stuff being dropped onto her toes

Tiffany smiled as she went over and massaged Taeyeons arms for her
Someone has a lot of stamina Tiffany chuckled
Taeyeon smiled sideways as she raised her arm and flexed
You like? Taeyeon smiled
Tiffany laughed as she hit Taeyeons arm playfully
Aish. Tiffany exclaimed

She then noticed another piece of paper on her window and pulled a puzzled face

held it up and hugged it
Tiffany yanked the little plush toy out of Taeyeons hand and stuck her tongue out

She then bent over to pick up a few of Tiffanys books and put it on the desk near their beds
Were going to be living in here now huh? Tiffany said slowly
Taeyeon turned around to see Tiffany holding onto her plush toy tightly and felt her heart tighten.
She remembered the first time she came into the hospital after being informed that she wont be
returning home for a while. She felt left behind by her family as people enjoyed their lives while she
was stuck in hospital
We wont be living here long. Were going to go out there and become successful people Taeyeon
said proudly as she hit her chest with her fist proudly
Tiffany gave Taeyeon an unsure look
Theres someone out there willing to give their heart to you. Dont worry Taeyeon chuckled as she
patted Tiffanys head
Tiffany just nodded childishly as she crawled into her bed
And you? Tiffany asked softly

I will also be out of here soon and she said nothing more as she packed Tiffanys stuff
Tiffany watched as the pile of stuff slowly began to shrink until everything was put away. She looked
around and began to feel a little more comfortable as it resembled a little like her room, except for
the equipment beside her
Taeyeon came up and popped up on the side of Tiffanys bed
Here Taeyeon said as she reached behind her neck
Tiffany then saw Taeyeon unlock the chain around her neck and hold it in the palm of her hand.

Chapter Four:
Spring had finally come round and Tiffany was sitting on her bed staring at the wall straight ahead of
her. There was a picture that Taeyeon and her had drawn during the rainy days of winter. It had a
picture of them together and writing all over it
Tiffany smiled as she read a note on the side that Taeyeon had wrote
Tiffany has the best eye smile with an arrow pointing to Tiffanys character
It was crossed out by Tiffany because she felt embarrassed by the compliment.
All around the page compliments were written and then crossed out again because none of them
accepted any of the compliments, so the picture just ended up being filled with writing everywhere
In the end they got another piece of paper and wrote Friends Forever and stuck it on top of the
drawing so that it stood out. It looks pretty good in Tiffanys opinion
Taeyeon then returned from her check-up and had a huge smile on her face
How was it? Tiffany asked with a warming smile
Taeyeon gave the thumbs up and grinned. She then reached into her pocket and pulled out two
lollipops
Jessica gave me these for not running away again Taeyeon chuckled as she walked over and gave
Tiffany a lollipop
Tiffany stared at the lollipop and raised her eyebrow.
How old are you again? Tiffany asked with a hint of sarcasm
Taeyeon chuckled as she held six fingers up
Im eight! Taeyeon beamed
Tiffany looked at Taeyeon worriedly as she looked back and forth between her face and her hand
Taeyeon burst out into laughter, finding Tiffanys confused face amusing

wrapper off and popped it into her mouth

Tiffany pulled the lollipop out held it in front of her, revealing the blue confectionary
Blueberry Tiffany answered What about you? Tiffany turned her head to Taeyeon
Taeyeon pulled hers out and revealed it to be pink

Taeyeon then smiled as she popped Tiffanys lollipop into her mouth and took it from her hand
Yah! Tiffany yelled but was shortly interrupted when Taeyeon shoved hers into her mouth
Tiffany quickly took it out and stared at Taeyeon in disbelief
Taeyeon moved the lollipop to the side of her cheek and made an innocent peace sign
Blueberry. My favourite Taeyeon chuckled
What do you think youre doing. This is like.. Tiffany tried to find the right words

Tiffanys cheeks turned a pink shade as she nodded
Taeyeon just shrugged
Doesnt matter to me, were both friends anyway. Besides you like strawberry and I like blueberry,
seems logical enough
Tiffany looked at the lollipop again then back at Taeyeon. Taeyeon was happily eating the blueberry
one as though it hadnt been in her mouth before.
*Maybe Im just self-conscious.* Tiffany thought to herself before shrugging and popping into her
mouth
Taeyeon smiled after their short argument was over and walked over to their small table in the
corner of the room, trying to find something to do
Ever since Tiffany had moved in Taeyeon hadnt been going outside as often anymore. She then
looked outside into the streets and saw people running around busily. She secretly envied them as
she raised her hand and pressed it against the window
Then in the distance she saw a balloon floating into the sky. Taeyeon squinted her eyes as she took a
closer look at where the balloon was coming from.
She saw a small little fair that was held at the park not too far from the hospital. A smile crept onto
her face as she got an idea
Tiffany! Get ready. Were going to have fun today Taeyeon beamed
Tiffany glared at Taeyeon
I always worry when you say that Tiffany muttered
Taeyeon raised her eyebrows innocently and tilted her head to the side

She then took her own clothes and went to the restrooms outside to change, making sure that none
of the nurses would notice
Tiffany stared down at the clothes that Taeyeon had picked and sighed
She promised I guess Tiffany reasoned as she jumped out and got ready

Tiffany thought for a while as she considered the idea
No time to think Taeyeon said abruptly as she quickly pulled Tiffany through the entrance
As they walked through they saw people with their family, friends and couples walking around the
area. The atmosphere was exciting but calming at the same time
Cotton candy! Taeyeon yelled as she pointed to the store
Tiffany bit her lip with embarrassment as the people around her looked at Taeyeon. She tugged onto
Taeyeons hand and warned her to calm down
One cotton candy stick please. A big one too Taeyeon asked as she held up one finger
Of course the man at the stall smiled as he started twirling the stick around the machine
One? Tiffany asked with an eyebrow raised
The man handed Taeyeon a large cotton candy stick as Taeyeon paid for it
Taeyeon then held it up to Tiffanys face
Eat Taeyeon beamed as she took a bite from the side
Tiffany stared at the pink fluffy confectionary in front of her

Tiffany just shrugged as she took a bite herself. The pink sugary cotton candy melted in her mouth
and warmed her mouth. It was like heaven in her mouth
Taeyeon could see Tiffanys reaction to the candy and turned to the man at the stall
Its great ahjussi, thank you Taeyeon said as she held up her free hand up and gave the thumbs up

As Tiffany and Taeyeon shared the cotton candy they browsed through the stalls on the side,
weaving in and out and once in a while, buying something they like
They stopped in front of a small flower shop as the smell of the roses wafted through their noses

Taeyeon and Tiffany smiled as they bowed to the woman
Your flowers are beautiful Tiffany complimented
The woman chuckled
Why thank you the woman smiled
Taeyeon looked around as she saw all the flowers were in full bloom

The woman just smiled
Spring is finally here. The flowers are showing their true colours the woman said timidly

Tiffany followed Taeyeons gaze and also looked at the pot above them

intelligently
Taeyeon and Tiffany pulled their heads down and looked at her confusingly
A beautiful flower that one is. It doesnt bloom until the late spring. A late bloomer but it certainly
is worth the wait the woman smiled as she looked at the pot wonderingly
The two nodded slowly in unison.
The woman chuckled quietly as she reached up and pulled the pot down
Here, you two can take these. It will bring you great joy once it blooms
Taeyeon and Tiffany looked at each other before they looked back at the lady and shook their heads
We cant take this They insisted
The woman shook her head as she pushed the flower pot into their hands
Its my present for you two. If youre lucky it will bloom earlier. Im sure you two can look after it
better than I could the woman smiled sweetly
Taeyeon bit her lip as she took the pot carefully and placed it in her arm
Tiffany bowed in thanks to the woman. As she came up she looked behind her after hearing a
familiar voice

Tiffany froze when she saw her friend, Yuri, walking around with her friends
Uh oh Tiffany exclaimed as she quickly turned her head back and closed her eyes, waiting for Yuri
to pass
Taeyeon looked behind Tiffany, wondering what was going on. When she caught sight of Yuri her
jaw drop
Hey Tiffany. Isnt that Yuri who visited you the other day? Taeyeon said as she pointed to her in
the distance
Tiffany quickly pulled Taeyeons finger down and hushed her
Shhh. Im not supposed to be here remember. If she finds me my moms going to find out and then
I will have to go through hours of lecturing over the phone Tiffany groaned
Taeyeon smiled as she grabbed Tiffanys hand. She quickly bowed to the lady before running off
Thank you again Taeyeon yelled from over her shoulder
The woman smiled at the two as she waved back at them
Young people she chuckled
Taeyeon pulled Tiffany through the crowds of people while holding tightly onto the new flower pot
that they just got. They soon reached an opening with an empty bench and decided to take a rest
Phew Taeyeon exclaimed before laughing out loud
What? Tiffany said, wondering why Taeyeon was laughing
Taeyeon took her hand from Tiffanys and patted her head
Your hair is a mess Taeyeon said in a motherly tone
Tiffany quickly turned around and fixed her hair. She looked in the reflection of her phone and

Tiffany blew the pieces of hair out of her face and had an unamused expression on her face
Taeyeon checked her watch for the time and decided that it was time to get back to the hospital, she
was starting to get tired from all the walking and running around
We should probably get back Taeyeon said disappointedly as she held her hand with the watch up.
Tiffany turned her head and checked the time and nodded in agreement.
We really shouldnt be out late Tiffany sighed
Taeyeon nodded slowly as she started walking to the exit. Tiffany naturally followed behind.
As they were walking back Tiffany noticed that the road they were taking was different from the one
they used to get there
Are you sure this is the way Tiffany questioned as she looked around to find something familiar
Yeah it is. Its just a detour though Taeyeon answered
Tiffany stopped in her tracks and stared at Taeyeon
Detour? Tiffany exclaimed

I know my way around here, dont worry. It will only take 10 minutes Taeyeon reassured as she
started to skip along the pathway
Tiffany had no choice but to trust Taeyeon because she honestly didnt know where they were. She
did however whine and groan, begging Taeyeon to take them back faster.
Before long Tiffany heard the sounds of waves crashing and a fresh breeze was blowing. She looked
to the side to see the beach in front of them. The sun was also starting to set and the sky was slowly
turning into a bright, vivid orange colour the occasional dark blue clouds cutting through the sky
She then looked back to see Taeyeon leaning against the railing and smiling at the beautiful scene
Been a while since Ive been here Taeyeon said quietly
Tiffany walked over to her and also leaned against the rail, both their arms were touching as they
watched the sun set
Its beautiful Tiffany commented as a smile was pasted onto her face
Taeyeon nodded nostalgically
As the sun sunk lower and lower, the sky started to get darker and darker, until finally the sun hid
behind the vast blue ocean and night filled the sky
We should probably get back now Taeyeon sighed as she took the pot up and put it in her arms
again, not minding the dirt that was going to stain her shirt
Tiffany stretched her arms and gave a tired yawn
Sooyoung is probably going to check on us soon. If we hurry we can get back before she finds out
Taeyeon smiled evilly
Tiffany just rolled her eyes as she started walking behind Taeyeon
As the two crept back into their rooms they quickly dashed to get their clothes and get changed
before Sooyoung could come in and check on them.
Taeyeon hid the flower pot behind the curtains of the windows. She then hid all evidence of either
her or Tiffany leaving the room
Just as Taeyeon finished hiding the flower pot she heard the door click open. Tiffany panicked and
quickly patted the empty bed space beside her. Taeyeon quickly responded by grabbing a pen and a
pad of sticky notes before jumping onto that empty space.
As Sooyoung walked in Taeyeon was acting casually as she wrote down something onto the notepad
Tiffany is a pabo
She then took the piece of paper off the pad and stuck it onto Tiffanys forehead before laughing and
pointing at it
Tiffany looked up at the piece of paper hanging from her forehead and blew on it

What are you two up to? Sooyoung intruded
Taeyeon turned around with an innocent look on her face
Just entertaining ourselves with some sticky notes and a pen Taeyeon said innocently
Sooyoung crossed her arms and stared at Taeyeon sceptically
You seem guilty of something Sooyoung said accusingly
Tiffanys breath became uneven, scared that they might have been caught
Taeyeon just shrugged her shoulders innocently
Spill it Sooyoung ordered
Taeyeon pretended to zip her lips and throw away the key
Tiffany just kept staring back and forth between Taeyeon and Sooyoung
Sooyoung narrowed her eyes at Taeyeon as she tried to figure what she could possibly be guilty for.
She then remembered something from earlier when she went to get a little snack from her personal

You! Sooyoung growled as she made her way to strangle Taeyeon
Taeyeon raised her eyebrows high and gave Sooyoung a confused look

Taeyeon then slowly started to smile brightly

Tiffany could have sworn she saw steam burst through Sooyoungs ears at Taeyeons response

You two get some sleep. Ive had a long day Sooyoung sighed as she rubbed her temples
Taeyeon gave a joking salute before hopping off the bed and skipping over to her own
Good night Tiffany Taeyeon smiled as she looked back
She then realised that Tiffany still had the sticky note stuck onto her forehead. Taeyeon covered her
mouth with one hand and pointed to Tiffanys forehead with the other
That note suits you Taeyeon giggled
Tiffany frowned as she ripped the sticky note off her forehead and read what was written on it
Yah! Why didnt you tell me you wrote something on it! Tiffany yelled as she threw the paper at

Taeyeon just rolled on her bed, holding her stomach because she was laughing too hard
Tiffany flared her teeth at Taeyeon before turning around and covering herself with the blanket
Taeyeon manged to calm down and slowly began to catch her breath. She then noticed that Tiffany
was mad at her
Aw come one Tiffany. It was just a joke. Besides its not like you walked out in the middle of the
street with it Taeyeon tried to calm her down
Tiffany just shook her head as she pulled the blanket over her head
Taeyeon pouted for a while as she searched for something to cheer Tiffany up with. She spotted the
Totoro bear on the side of the room and decided to play a little with it. She quickly got off her bed
and grabbed the plush toy before going over to where Tiffany was facing
Totoro wants a hug Taeyeon whispered
Tiffany remained unmoved
Totoro wont be showing himself to you anymore if you leave him Taeyeon said cutely
Tiffany still didnt move. Taeyeon frowned at Tiffanys stubbornness

cleared her throat as she sat up straight and stared straight into the plush toys eyes. I Kim

Tiffany peered from the top of her blanket to see Taeyeon staring directly at her plush toy

Tiffany smiled from under the blankets at Taeyeons dorkiness. She then began to suffocate inside
the blanket and had no choice but to pop her full head out
Taeyeon smiled when she saw Tiffanys face and put out her pinky finger

Tiffany just giggled as she took Taeyeons finger with her own and did a quick shake of the fingers

Taeyeon chuckled as she leaned in and gave Tiffany a goodnight kiss on the cheek
Sleep tight Taeyeon beamed before tucking Totoro in with Tiffany and walking back to her own
bed
Tiffany smiled widely after receiving the kiss and hugged the plush toy next to her tightly

From the window sill the sky outside was a dark blue colour, which was lit up brightly by the moons
rays. Stars were twinkling to their own rhythm as the occasional cloud covered them.
Just then a shooting star whizzed pass the sky. As it quickly disappeared into vast open sky the
Bleeding Heart plants flower buds slowly began to bloom, allowing a small shade of pink to be seen
from the bottom of the bud.
Chapter Five:
Hmmm. Bleeding heart huh? Tiffany whispered as she stared at the pot plant on the window sill.
The flower bud had started to bloom but only by a bit. It hasnt progressed anymore ever since.
Taeyeon was off with Jessica again for another check-up. Tiffany noticed that she has been getting a
lot more check-ups with each passing day and was wondering whether there was something wrong
with her. But every time Taeyeon came back, the answer was always Im perfectly fine or Jessica
worries too much
Tiffany was beginning to doubt the truthfulness of Taeyeons words, but every time she did, Taeyeon
would prove that she was perfectly fine by doing something radical. Tiffany really didnt like Taeyeon
going out and pushing herself to prove she was healthy, so she just took Taeyeons words and didnt
tell her about her doubts
Taeyeon burst through the room happily as she ran up and hugged Tiffany from behind
Miss me? Taeyeon chuckled
Tiffany turned around and used her knuckle to hit Taeyeons forehead
You always leave me alone in here. I really dont see a difference between your room and my room
anymore Tiffany complained with a pout
Taeyeon let go of Tiffanys waist and used her hands to cover the red spot that was developing on
her head from Tiffanys attack
I dont leave you intentionally. Jessica and Sooyoung are just being the old naggy women they are

She then quickly closed her eyes and ducked her head, expecting either Sooyoung or Jessica behind
her. Sure enough, Jessica was behind her.
Jessica took Tiffanys pillow and slapped Taeyeon across the head with it

Why does everyone attack my head? I can develop brain tumours at this rate Taeyeon pouted as
she ducked under Jessicas arm and onto her bed
Tiffany giggled as she took the pillow from Jessicas hand and sat on her own bed, laying the pillow
over her stomach
Anyways. Im here to bring some good news to Tiffany Jessica said in a tired tone
Tiffany had a shocked expression on her face as she pointed to herself. From the side she could see
Taeyeon clapping eagerly
We found you a heart donor Jessica said in an unexcited tone
Taeyeon took her pillow and threw it at Jessica, hitting a bullseye right on Jessicas face.
When the pillow fell to the floor, Jessica blew a few strands of hair from her face and glared at

Couldnt you at least be a little happier? Sheez Taeyeon chuckled

Jessica calmly bent over to pick up Taeyeons pillow. Taeyeon stopped chuckling and quickly
scrambled to the door. Jessica took aim and threw the pillow with all her might

Jessica froze. It wasnt Taeyeons voice that she had heard. Instead it was another nurses
Sooyoungs to be precise
Jessica has the muscles of an elephant Taeyeon whispered from behind Sooyoung, who was
standing there with her hair now messed up
Tiffany giggled at Taeyeons comment, but immediately stopped when Jessica turned her head to
look at her.
For once I agree with Taeyeon Sooyoung said in a joking matter
Jessica reached for the closest thing she had to throw at Sooyoung. The closest thing to her though,
was the pot plant Taeyeon and Tiffany had been hiding
Wait! Tiffany yelled as she quickly grabbed the pot plant and put it back on the window sill
Jessica froze, with her hand still in mid-throw

Taeyeon weaved her way around Sooyoung and shrugged
Jessica blinked a few times before finally putting her hand down. She looked on her hand to see soil
and dirt on it

I know its soil and dirt! But why is it on MY hand?! Jessica quickly ran to the bathroom to wash her

Another high pitched shriek echoed their bathroom

Jessica walked out of the bathroom with her hands giving off a really strong smell of soap. Jessica
still looked at her hands with disgust though
I wonder how long it takes for cucumbers to grow. I feel like eating some. Nurse Jung~ Could I
please get a cucumber salad? Taeyeon said innocently to Jessica
Are you out of your mind?! Get it yourself! Jessica shot back
Taeyeon held her hands up defensively

She heard Taeyeon sniff on her shoulder as thought she was crying. Tiffany tried to push Taeyeon
back and look at her but Taeyeon held her grip. Not allowing her to move from the hug

emotional sometimes
Tiffany then wrapped her arms around Taeyeons neck and rested her head against her shoulder

Taeyeon just innocently turned her head to the side and smiled. That alone was enough to wipe all

Well go visit Yoona, Hyoyeon and Timmy tonight. Im sure theyre missing us Taeyeon suggested
as she walked to the small wardrobe to get her oversized hoodie and shorts

Tiffany didnt even have time to object before Taeyeon was out of the room. Not only was she
overwhelmed with joy, but she was also overwhelmed with worry.
Over the past six months, Tiffany had always spent her time at the hospital with Taeyeon. Getting
into trouble for sneaking out, missing check-ups and teasing the nurses had become a daily thing for
Tiffany now.
Now that she had a heart donor, she would be able to return to her normal life, outside the four
walls of Taeyeons and her room. The only thing was Tiffany didnt want to return to her normal
life. Her life with Taeyeon had become the norm for her and now she wasnt really sure what she
was going to do with herself
Tiffany sighed as she walked over to the bleeding heart plant. She took her water bottle and gave it
some water as she began to fall into deep thought
If she were to get better before Taeyeon does, what was she going to do? Tiffany rested her arm
against the window sill and put her chin against her arm as she stared at the pot

too attached to let her go

The two of them took their seats in the usual two chairs near the kitchen

When they had finished they said their goodbyes to Timmy, Yoona and Hyoyeon and made their way
back to the hospital
On the walk Taeyeon decided to start a conversation
Tiffany What am I to you? Taeyeon asked curiously as she kicked a rock
Tiffany linked her arms with Taeyeons and gave a warm smile

As Tiffany turned around she was interrupted by something on her lips. Taeyeon had pressed her lips
against Tiffanys and had shut her eyes. A warm sensation was spreading through her body, starting
from her lips.
The sensation didnt last long. Taeyeon removed herself from Tiffanys lips
A good nights kiss Taeyeon beamed as she gave a cheeky smile
Tiffany blinked three times before she let out her breath, not realising that she had been holding it in

Taeyeon giggled as she quickly skipped ahead, narrowly avoiding Tiffanys attack
Bleh Taeyeon exclaimed as she pulled her lower eye-lid and stuck her tongue out at Tiffany
Aish Tiffany said in frustration as she watched Taeyeon skip up ahead
Tiffany then felt something on her lips that wasnt there before. She licked her bottom lip to taste a
bit of some sweet strawberry, along with a bitter taste of some lip gloss

As the two were running up hill, Taeyeon stopped in her tracks and stared across the town. Tiffany
caught up and followed Taeyeons gaze

From the window sill of their room, one of the buds was slowly blooming. Its pink petals finally
showing itself, forming a heart shaped flower with a water-drop coming from the middle. The
moons light shone through the glass and focused on the one blooming flower. It looked as if it was
waiting. Waiting for the bud next to it to bloom together with it.

We called your parents. They know about the circumstances and risks already. Now its up to you
whether you want to proceed with the operation the doctor said expertly as he flipped through the
papers on his clipboard
Thank you doctor Tiffany smiled sweetly as the doctors walked out
She gave a sigh of relief as soon as they were out of sight. She then decided that it was time to water
the pot plant again, so she got out of her bed and walked over to the window sill where the flower
had started to bloom.
Tiffany smiled at how beautiful the flower was.
Now I know how you got your name Tiffany chuckled as she tipped a few dollops of water into the
pot.
Then from the side, something caught Tiffanys eye. It was a calendar that Taeyeon had bought
recently. She walked over to it and smiled at the large circle on it, marking Taeyeons birthday
Its coming in two months Tiffany whispered as she lifted her finger and traced the circle
The door behind her then opened. Thinking it was Taeyeon Tiffany quickly turned around with a
bright smile. Unfortunately it wasnt Taeyeon, instead it was Sooyoung
Thanks for the warm welcome Sooyoung chuckled as she walked over to the monitors beside
Tiffanys bed
Tiffanys smile then immediately faded as she slowly walked to her bed and slumped onto it. She
looked to her side where Taeyeons bed was empty. Taeyeon was off on another one of her checkups with Jessica again.
You okay? Sooyoung asked with concern behind her
Tiffany jumped a little at Sooyoungs voice, but answered with a nod
Youre worried about that dork? Sooyoung smiled as she took a seat beside Tiffany
Tiffany just sighed and nodded
You dont have to be worried. That kid can tackle a bear, lion AND Jessica and still come out alive.
Jessicas just making sure that Taeyeons in perfect condition Sooyoung reassured
Tiffany chuckled at Sooyoungs remark but she still had a small urge inside her telling her that
something wasnt quite right.
Sooyoung smiled warmly as she patted Tiffanys head
Speak of the devil Sooyoung exclaimed as Taeyeon walked into the room
Tiffanys face immediately brightened when she saw Taeyeons bright smile
Miss me? was Taeyeons usual greeting
Of course not was Tiffanys usual answer

Lies Sooyoung sneered as she pinched Tiffanys cheek
Taeyeon laughed before she jumped on the bed beside Tiffany
Ill leave you two to it then Sooyoung said as she exited the room, leaving Taeyeon and Tiffany
alone
So what did the doctors have to say? Taeyeon asked innocently
They told me that they have informed my parents. They also listed all the risks, but my mother
called in the best of the best surgeons, so that boosted my chances up to 80% Tiffany smiled

I guess it will rely on my will to live then Tiffany

Dont worry. Im going to make it though no matter what. I promised to take you to see the sunrise
on your birthday didnt I? I dont plan on breaking that promise Tiffany smiled as she pinched

Taeyeon smiled, causing her face to make a weird expression from Tiffanys pinching
Oh did you see the flower? Taeyeon suddenly jumped as she eyed the pink flower in the window
sill
Neh Tiffany answered with a nod
Its pretty isnt it? Taeyeon smiled But It isnt that pretty Taeyeon pouted
Tiffany raised her eyebrow at Taeyeon
Youre much prettier Taeyeon chuckled as she poked Tiffanys cheek
Aish Tiffany exclaimed as she knocked Taeyeons arm away Stop teasing me like that
Taeyeon chuckled for a while before fixing her stare on Tiffany.
Tiffany Taeyeon said in a low charismatic voice. Saranghae Taeyeon finished off
Tiffany froze
Taeyeon then gave a smirk and a wink before she started trying to hold in her laugh

Tiffany thought for a while, trying to remember what the doctor had said

Taeyeon raised both her eyebrows and smiled as an evil plan formed in her head. Tiffany stared at
Taeyeon curiously as she watched Taeyeon think her plan through. She then knocked her forehead
to snap her out of it
I want you to be here when I come back. Dont do anything that will make Jessica kill you Tiffany
said sternly
Taeyeon made an ok sign with her fingers, but Tiffany could see the deviousness in Taeyeons eyes.
She was just glad she wasnt on the receiving end of Taeyeons idea
So youll be starting the operation next week right? That means youll have to be very careful with
your health Taeyeon said seriously
Tiffany just nodded lazily
Ill be sure to take care of you till then then. No more sneaking out, running around or messing
around for a week Taeyeon said with a nod

I highly doubt thats going to happen Tiffany mumbled
Taeyeon put on a shocked face as she used her hand to point to herself
Excuse me? She said in a high pitched tone I can be very responsible you know. I just choose not
to take the responsible road most of the time

It was 5 days after Tiffany had received the news about her heart donor. Taeyeon stuck to her word

Youre not serious are you? Tiffany asked back in a cocky tone.
It was a warm day and she couldnt understand why Taeyeon was telling her to put on a jumper

dolls arm while trying to put on a dress it
Tiffanys eyes popped open at Taeyeons warning. Still she didnt want to be suffocating in the
jumper so she just grabbed it and chucked it onto Taeyeons bed
No thank you Tiffany said bluntly
I warned you Taeyeon shrugged as she walked casually to the jumper on her bed
She took the jumper and tried to find the front and back to it. Once she did find it she slowly walked
up to Tiffany with an evil smirk pasted onto her face. Tiffany backed up to the edge of her bed as she
watched Taeyeon get closer.
You going to put it on yourself now? Taeyeon gave one last warning
Tiffany shook her head stubbornly

Taeyeon then flared her teeth as she pounced onto Tiffanys bed, pinning Tiffany down. Tiffany tried
to get out from under Taeyeon, but her body was being held down my Taeyeons own body.
Taeyeon sat on top of Tiffany, trying to find the opening of the jumper
This is harassment! Tiffany yelled as she nudged Taeyeons shoulder
I warned you Taeyeon said cold heartedly a she finally found the hole and positioned it over
Tiffanys head
Nooo Tiffany squealed as the jumper got lower and lower.
She then waited for the jumper to pass through her head and have her hands forcefully pulled
through, but there was nothing. She opened her eyes to see Taeyeon smirking at her.
Last chance Taeyeon offered
Tiffany shook her head sternly

Im going to suffocate in that thing Tiffany blurted out
Taeyeon disregarded Tiffanys complaint and lowered the jumper up to Tiffanys forehead. Tiffany
struggled, determined to not have the jumper put on her.
Aish Taeyeon said as she took paused
Tiffany used this chance to get out from Taeyeon. She closed her eyes and was about to kick
Taeyeon off when something interrupted her. The same soft sensation that she had felt four days
before on her lips had returned. She froze as the warmth spread through her again. She blinked
three times, trying to make sense of what was happening.
Before she could even come up to a conclusion the warmth disappeared and a material was put
around her. Her arms were then pulled through the material and everything was over in a matter of
seconds.
See? So much easier Taeyeon beamed as she got off of Tiffany and gave a peace sign.
Did Did you just Kiss me again? Tiffany stuttered
Taeyeon shrugged
It was the only way to stop you from struggling. Looks like it worked too Taeyeon finished off with
a smirk
Tiffany sat still for a few seconds, letting Taeyeons words sink in. When her brain finally clicked, her
face slowly changed from bewildered to confused, to understanding, and then finally to rage.
Taeyeon sat in front of Tiffany, enjoying the expressions she was making
You can become an actor like that Taeyeon commented
Tiffany shot Taeyeon a glare and threw her pillow at Taeyeon
Why do you keep stealing kisses? Tiffany whined as she hit Taeyeon again
Taeyeon let out a loud laugh as she blocked Tiffanys feeble attacks. She then caught Tiffanys pillow
and stared intensely into her eyes. Tiffany stopped moving as her arms slowly flopped to her side,
focusing on Taeyeons intense stare
Because Taeyeon lowered her voice. Youre cute, kind, beautiful, loving and
Tiffany swallowed down hard.
I love you Taeyeon said as she wiggled her eyebrows before letting go and laughing hysterically
Tiffany let out a sigh of relief before she turned her attention to Taeyeon again. Taeyeon was holding
her stomach and laughing non-stop. Tiffany growled under her breath as she grabbed her Totoro
plush and threw it at Taeyeon
The Totoro hit Taeyeon smack bang on the forehead. Taeyeon froze as she slowly collapsed on to
the bed from the impact of the hit.
Tiffany laughed as she Totoro landed on top of Taeyeons head
Oww Taeyeon said slowly
Tiffany smiled widely, proud of her attack
Taetoro is in pain Taeyeon complained
Aw come on. A ball of stuffing cant hurt you that bad Tiffany chuckled
Taeyeon sat up straight and held Totoro in her hands
Totoro, traitor. I thought you were on my side Taeyeon pouted
Tiffany yanked the plush toy back and stuck her tongue at Taeyeon
His mine first Tiffany teased
Taeyeon held her hands up in defeat
Taetoro is going to get something from Sooyoung. Ill be back later Taeyeon said as she got up
from her bed
Tiffany just nodded childishly with her chin rested against Totoros head
Oh by the way. The jumper is on backwards Taeyeon added before she exited the room
Tiffany moved the Totoro from her stomach and looked at her jumper. She then turned her head to
check her back. Finally she pulled the neck opening to find the tag at the front. Taeyeon had put
Tiffanys jumper on backwards.
That little Tiffany grumbled as she took the jumper off
Taeyeon exited the room and walked over to the nurses office area. Her chest was starting to hurt,
she had been laughing too hard and her lungs were being overworked.
Sooyoung Jessica Taeyeon gasped as she knocked on the door
One of the nurses opened the door and were shocked when they saw Taeyeon standing at the door,
grasping her chest and out of breath
Sooyoung! The nurse shrieked
Sooyoung came to the door and found Taeyeon double bent in front of it.
Jessica! Call a doctor! Sooyoung yelled as she got down to help Taeyeon.
Taeyeon how are you feeling?! You okay?! Sooyoung panicked as she rested Taeyeon against her

Taeyeons body went limp on top of Sooyoungs, using all the energy she had to try and calm her
lungs down
Taetoro is in pain Taeyeon mumbled
Sooyoung bit her lip as she piggybacked Taeyeon. A doctor came from behind and led them to the
examination room.
Taetoro is hurting Taeyeon whined again
Hang on for just a moment Taeyeon. Weve got help Sooyoung tried to sound reassuring but her
voice failed her
Whats going on?! Jessicas voice asked in a worried tone
Taeyeon came to the office like this. She says shes in pain Sooyoung explained quickly as she set
Taeyeon down on the bed.
Jessica immediately fixed an oxygen mask over Taeyeons face with a worried expression on her
face. The doctors proceeded with putting needles inside her and checking her breathing
Taetoro doesnt feel too good Taeyeon mumbled as she tried to breathe normally
Shh Jessica hushed as she helped the doctors
Sooyoung stood on the side as she watched the doctors do their job.
Thirty minutes had pass and Taeyeons condition had returned back to normal. Taeyeon was sitting
on the side of the bed as the doctors gave one last check-up. When everything was safe they
excused themselves, leaving Sooyoung, Jessica and Taeyeon in the room alone
Jessica walked up and gave Taeyeon a sharp knock to the head
Dont scare us like that again Jessica scolded
Taeyeon just gave off a weak smile
Sorry. Just laughing too hard Taeyeon apologized
Sooyoung came up and nudged Taeyeons shoulder
Do you have any idea how worried I was about you? Sooyoung said angrily
Sorry Taeyeon apologized again
Jessica and Sooyoung let out a sigh as they leaned against each other
I really think you should move to the critical area Taeyeon. Ive talked to you about this over and
over and you always say youll think about it Jessica frowned
Taeyeon just nodded guiltily
Im really sorry for troubling you guys. Taeyeon said sincerely I told you what my decision was
though. Until Tiffany is released from here, I wont go there
Jessica rolled her eyes
What is it with you and Tiffany? Its like youre inseparable
Taeyeon just smiled
Shes important to me Taeyeon answered
Sooyoung and Jessica waited for more but Taeyeon ended the conversation by taking her mask off.
I said Id be back soon. Ill see you two later Taeyeon said quietly as she exited the room
Jessica took the seat on the bed as Sooyoung patted her shoulder
Shes pushing herself too far Jessica sighed

The sooner she gets in the critical ward, the sooner we can treat her Jessica whispered

Welcome back Tiffany greeted
Tiffany was at their small desk with a pen in her hand and a piece of paper in the other.
What are you up to? Taeyeon said cheerfully
Writing a new wish Tiffany answered without looking back. This time you cant see it
Taeyeon pouted at Tiffanys last remark
Why not? Who knows, I might be able to grant it for you Taeyeon beamed as she leaned over
Tiffanys shoulder
Tiffany used her hand to cover up the note
No Tiffany said sternly as she stuck her tongue out

Araso, araso Taeyeon chuckled as she moved from Tiffany But that means you wont be able to
see my wish either
Tiffany just nodded, only half listening to Taeyeon
Taeyeon took a piece of paper and pen as she started writing down her wish
Ill put mine up first. No looking Tiffany warned as she took the old piece of paper off the window
and replaced it with the new one
Not even a peek? Taeyeon chuckled
No Tiffany answered bluntly as she finished putting the new wish up for the stars to see
Okay. You can put yours now Tiffany called back
Taeyeon walked up to the window sill and gripped the bottom of Tiffanys note, lifting it slightly.
Tiffany slapped Taeyeons hand away
Taeyeon-ah Dont please Tiffany whined
Taeyeon just smiled reassuringly as she patted Tiffanys head
Fine fine Taeyeon chuckled as she took her old wish down and replaced it with her new one
She then put her hands together and closed her eyes
Tiffany watched as she saw Taeyeon make her wish. She could see something wet on the side of
Taeyeons eyes.
Taeyeon you okay? Tiffany asked worriedly
Taeyeon opened her eyes and looked at Tiffany innocently
Yeah. Why? Taeyeon asked
Tiffany blinked a few times, realising that there was nothing there.
*Mustve been the reflection or something* Tiffany thought
Nothing Tiffany answered
Go back and rest. Your operation is soon Taeyeon said as she pushed Tiffany back to rest
Tiffany just nodded as she climbed into her bed.
What about you? Tiffany asked as she noticed Taeyeon jump into her own bed
Im a little tired today so I think Ill rest as well. Ill still be here when youre awake Taeyeon

From outside their room window the two notes could be seen

Tiffany. Hurry were going to be late Taeyeon called out from the road ahead of Tiffany
Wait. I cant catch up Tiffany huffed as she bent over and tried to catch her breath
Just a little further. Come. If we miss this I wont forgive you Taeyeon threatened as she turned
around and started running over the hill, disappearing from Tiffanys sight
Tiffany rolled her eyes as she started running up the hill. When she reached the top she saw Taeyeon
already at the bottom, even purchasing some ice cream
Hurry before I eat your ice cream Taeyeon smiled dorkily as she gave a lick to both ice creams
*Where does she get this stamina?!* Tiffany thought to herself as she pushed herself even further
Slow poke Taeyeon teased once Tiffany reached the bottom
Tiffany just put her hand onto Taeyeons shoulder and was double bent as she closed her eyes and
breathed in heavily
You made me wait too long Taeyeon chuckled
Mianhe Tiffany huffed as she looked up.
As she did, something caught her eye.
In Taeyeons hands, instead of the ice creams, there was the bleeding heart flower.
You made we wait too long Taeyeon said again a little slower
Tiffany raised her eyebrow and stared at Taeyeon suspiciously
My heart has waited for you for too long Taeyeon whispered as she looked down at the plant
Tiffany followed her gaze to see the single flower starting to wither away.
Whats wrong? Tiffany asked curiously as she took a closer look at the flower
You took too long Taeyeon replied glumly
Why do you keep saying that? Tiffany frowned as she looked into Taeyeons eyes
Taeyeon just gave a warming smile as she passed the pot plant to Tiffany.
I cant wait anymore Tiffany. Im tired of waiting. Taeyeons smile began to quiver
The single flower on the plant was withering away with a more rapid speed.
What cant you wait for? Taeyeon tell me whats going in Tiffany felt something inside begin to
move faster
I waited for yours Taeyeon said as she pointed Tiffanys chest where her heart was located
As Taeyeons finger touched Tiffanys clothes the flower dropped from the stem and fell pass the pot
and onto the floor. Tiffany looked up to see Taeyeons image slowly disappearing
Where you going Taeyeon?! Tiffanys voice cracked
Taeyeon just gave a nervous smile and started waving. A lonesome tear escaped her left eye and
slowly fell down her cheek. Taeyeon used her thumb to wipe away the tear and gave a sympathetic
laugh
Its too late Taeyeon said slowly before her image completely faded away
Tiffany dropped the pot and reached out to Taeyeon, trying to grab onto her, but all she grabbed
was thin air. She looked down to see the pot still falling slowly as though time was slowed down.
Taeyeon-ah! Dont leave me! Tiffany panicked as she looked around herself
She made a full turn and desperately tried to search for someone. To her realisation everything was
starting to fade to white. The only thing that wasnt was the bleeding hearts pot which was still
falling dramatically slow towards the floor.
Then slowly, Tiffany saw a flash of colour on the plant. The flower bud which was right beside the
withered ones remains was beginning to bloom
Tiffany watched as she watched the flower bloom.
Its all too late A voice echoed
Tiffany fell to her knees and the pot began to fall at a normal speed, the smashing sound echoing
into the nothingness.
Taeyeon Tiffany sobbed as everything disappeared, leaving her and the broken pot pieces and
plant remains.
Taeyeon Tiffany sobbed again
Tiffany? Tiffany, are you okay? Taeyeons voice suddenly rang through the white empty space
Tiffany felt her body shake a little.
Tiffany whats wrong? Taeyeons voice rang again
Tiffanys body shook again. The broken pot began to turn black and spread through the white
nothingness. With each shake Tiffanys body took everything soon became black
Finally Tiffany felt herself blink a few times. Her vision getting blurry and unclear
She blinked a few more times as the head of a familiar person was situated in front of her.
Are you okay? the figures voice said with concern

Finally everything became clear enough for Tiffany to see. She was inside her hospital room with
Taeyeon right in front of her with a worried expression on
Taeyeon gave a sigh of relief and hugged Tiffany
You looked like you had a nightmare. Dont worry its over now Taeyeon reassured as she patted
Tiffanys back
As Tiffanys cheek hit Taeyeons shoulder she felt something wet near her eye.
Tears.
It was all a dream Tiffany whispered unstably
Its over now Taeyeon repeated as she stopped patting Tiffanys back and began rubbing it to calm
her down
Relief rushed through Tiffanys body.
Everything is alright now Taeyeon continued
Tiffany felt a smile on her face as she moved her arms and wrapped them around Taeyeons body.
Bringing her closer, enabling her to regain the familiar scent of Taeyeon and feel the warmth of her
body
Youre still here Tiffany whispered as she tightened her grip
Taeyeon nodded on Tiffanys shoulder
I told you Id be here when you wake up didnt I? chuckled Taeyeon
Tiffany just buried her head deeper into Taeyeons shoulders
The two remained in the hugging position for another minute before Taeyeon pulled away, feeling a
little stiff. Tiffany reluctantly pulled away too, but felt much better knowing that everything was just
a dream
I heard you starting to murmur and then you started tossing and turning. I got really worried so I
went up to you to find you in tears. Is everything alright? Are you worried about something?
Taeyeon said adoringly
Tiffany used her finger to wipe away the left over tears and just gave Taeyeon a small smile
Just a little stressed thats all Tiffany chuckled
Taeyeon nodded as she patted Tiffanys head
Its alright. Im here if you ever need to talk
Tiffany nodded as she checked the time
It was still early in the morning

Sorry I woke you up Tiffany mumbled softly
Taeyeon just shook her head slowly
I was already up
So early?
Your operation is tomorrow right? Taeyeon suddenly asked
Oh right yeah Tiffany said slowly
Taeyeon then flashed a guilty smile
I wont be able to be here for a while, so I cant stay with you during the operation Taeyeon said
slowly
Tiffanys heart sank
Why?! Tiffanys voice broke. Youre alright arent you?! Nothings happening?! Tiffany added

Taeyeons eyes opened wide as she stared at Tiffany. Soon after though she started laughing out
loud
No need to panic Taeyeon chuckled. Im going to visit my family for a while. Theyre back in Korea
for a short time and suggested I stay with them while theyre in Korea Taeyeon explained patiently
Tiffany let out a sigh of relief but then her eyebrows furrowed
When are you going?
Ill go once you start your operation. Ill be back after a week though. It will give you enough time to
recover without me hassling you Taeyeon smiled
Tiffany just nodded slowly
Go back to sleep. Youre going to need to be healthy tomorrow Taeyeon patted Tiffanys head and
pushed her slightly towards her pillow
Tiffany remained still and stared at Taeyeon intensely

Dont worry its just a week. I last three years without seeing you. I think you can last a week. Now
go sleep before I tie you down to it Taeyeon said as she slowly pushed Tiffany onto her back and
pulled the blanket over her

If you keep saying that I might actually believe you one day Tiffany complained, thinking that
Taeyeon was just joking around
Taeyeon just smiled contently and stuck her tongue out

Tiffany frowned and turned her back around.
She used her hand to cover her chest; her heart was starting to beat faster.
From behind she could hear Taeyeon snickering to herself
*Pabo* Tiffany thought to herself as she closed her eyes tightly
Ewww Tiffany exclaimed as she pushed the bowl of porridge away. I dont like bird food
Taeyeon, who was standing at their small table, turned her head around and raised her eyebrow
Bird food? Taeyeon questioned
Tiffany nodded stubbornly
Taeyeon put down the paper she was holding in her hand and walked over to Tiffany
Here. Ill feed you Taeyeon said lowly as she grabbed the bowl and took a spoonful
She then held it up for Tiffany to eat
No thank you Tiffany said sternly and turned her head away
Dont make me force you again. Remember last time I tried to force you into something? Taeyeon
smirked
Tiffany stiffened
But I dont like that Tiffany whined
There are a lot of things we dont like. Just eat this and then Ill give you some sweets Taeyeon

Tiffany turned her head slowly and raised her eyebrow at Taeyeon

Taeyeon nodded her head as she pushed the spoon closer to Tiffany
Tiffany looked at the spoon. Her stomach began to turn as she looked at the porridge. Reluctantly
and slowly though, she mechanically opened her mouth and Taeyeon fed her
Tiffanys face scrunched up as she swallowed the food in her mouth
Ergh Tiffany exclaimed as she coughed up some of the porridge
Taeyeon chuckled at Tiffanys reaction
Be right back Taeyeon smiled reassuringly as she left the room
Tiffany sat still as she waited for Taeyeons return, hoping Taeyeon would change her lunch
Taeyeon then came back with the same bowl of porridge. Tiffanys heart sank rock bottom.
Here said Taeyeon as she scooped up the porridge and put it next to Tiffanys mouth again.
Tiffany gave Taeyeon a pleading look
Taeyeon just shook her head sternly and motioned at the spoon again. Once again Tiffany slowly
opened her mouth and allowed Taeyeon to feed her again.
This time though, there was something different about the porridge. It was rather sweet rather than
bland.
Tiffany looked down at the bowl to see Taeyeon write a message in the porridge with honey

Tiffany quickly looked up to look at Taeyeon
Well? Taeyeon said expectantly
Tiffany swallowed the food in her mouth and smiled

Tiffany felt the sides of her lips fall into a frown

Tiffany was still left sitting still.
Taeyeon had been giving her random kisses out of nowhere but she still wasnt used to it. She
thought it was Taeyeons way of teasing her so never took it seriously

Taeyeon then took up the spoon again and fed Tiffany. Tiffany refused

Chapter Eight:
What is THAT? Taeyeon said as she pointed to the crane that Tiffany had made
It was just barely passable as a crane but its beak was bent in different directions, its wings were
uneven and the whole origami figure overall looked as though a five year old had made it
Its a crane Tiffany said innocently
Taeyeons jaw dropped as she raised an eyebrow at Tiffany
Thats a crane? Taeyeon said shockingly
Tiffany lifted both her eyebrows and tilted her head to the side

Taeyeon stiffly turned her head to the crane again
Poor animal Taeyeon pouted as she patted its head
Hey! Tiffany yelled as she pushed Taeyeon playfully

Taeyeon looked at Tiffany with surprised eyes. She just then shrugged and returned to folding cranes
Tiffany took up another piece of paper and started folding it. She wasnt really good with folding
paper but she didnt want Taeyeon to have another thing against her.
As the minutes passed by Taeyeon already had thirty cranes done whilst Tiffany only had ten.
Tiffany paused and pouted

Taeyeon looked up from her half folded crane and up at Tiffany
Help me please? Tiffany whined as she looked at the measly folded cranes
Taeyeon chuckled as she picked up one of the cranes
Poor things Taeyeon smiled as she dropped them down back onto the bed

Taeyeon just nodded as she continued making her cranes
Tiffany sat there and watched as she watched Taeyeon concentrate. Her tongue stuck to the side of
her mouth whenever she was folding the small parts, making sure that it didnt rip.
Tiffany then had a thought run through her mind
As Taeyeon was finishing off and pulling the wings to finish off, Tiffany leaned in slowly.
Taeyeon was still trying to fix the crane to make the back seem fuller.
From the side she then felt something soft against her cheeks.
Taeyeon looked to the side to see Tiffany pulling away with a smirk growing on her face
Just small thanks Tiffany smiled
Taeyeon was dumbfounded. Her cheeks slowly began to feel warmer as they started growing pink.
She quickly turned away to avoid Tiffany raising suspicions

Tiffany turned her head to the side to see Taeyeons expression but Taeyeon turned away again
Tiffany Jessica called from the door
Taeyeon and Tiffany turned their heads towards the door

Jessica walked in with a few nurses and doctors behind her
It was time
I thought it doesnt start till another half hour said Tiffany
We need to prepare you for the operation. It will take around half an hour Jessica said slowly
Tiffany let out a long sigh but nodded

Taeyeon turned her head back to look at Tiffany.
Dont worry. Everythings okay. All the best surgeons are there right? And you have a lot of strong

Taeyeon went down to reception with her bag and met up with her brother.

into her operation clothes and was now just waiting for the nurses to bring her to the operation
room where the surgeons were waiting

They then proceeded to wheel Tiffany into the room. As they entered the bright light blinded

When her eyes readjusted the surgeons held a mask over her face

She was expecting to see Taeyeon in front of her, but to her surprise it was her friend Yuri.

How are you feeling? Yuri said with concern
Tiffany turned her head to the side and rubbed her eyes

Yuri nodded as she poured a cup of water for Tiffany

Tiffany weakly held the glass in her hand and took a drink from it, soothing her dry throat

She was in the same familiar room that she and Taeyeon had shared. The same wishes stuck onto
the window, the same pot plant that still had one single blooming flower

Shock ran through her when she saw it neatly made and empty

Tiffany quickly opened up her phone and searched for Taeyeons number

Tiffany frowned as she pulled her phone down and checked the ID

She was going to be alone in the hospital for another two days

The doctors said you should be able to be released again within another few days. They said youre

Tiffany turned to the side and took out a small box. She opened the small box and took out the heart

Tiffany watched as the door slowly closed, giving off a loud click once it hit the door. She was alone

She picked up the water bottle that was placed there and gave the plant a few dollops of water.
Why wont the second flower bloom Tiffany whispered as she lowered herself to eye level with the

The images of Taeyeon disappearing into thin air were replaying through Tiffanys head. The scene
of her figure was just blown away like sand in a windy storm, the sudden freeze in time when the pot
plant fell, the flower blooming all too late before it was totally destroyed by the impact of the fall.
Tiffany shook her head to clear her mind. She then felt a finger press against her chest

Tiffany used her hand to press against her chest.
Waited for what? Tiffany whispered to herself as she kneeled to the floor
She turned her body around and leaned against the wall in confusion. What did her dream mean?

As Tiffany sat there trying to make sense of things, something caught her eye. On top of Taeyeons
bed there was something glistening.
It was Taeyeons diary. Its glittering cover was reflecting the sun that was creeping through the
curtains and into Tiffanys eyes
Tiffany slowly got up and walked to the diary. She slowly picked it. The diary seemed to pulse in her
hand as temptation started to grow on her.
Tiffany opened the cover of the diary before quickly shutting it again
*I cant do this. Its an invasion of privacy* Tiffany scolded herself

on to Yoona and Hyoyeon though I wonder if she minds that
Tiffany blinked a few times as she read the first entry. She then skipped a few pages and read the
entry there
Tiffany moved in with me again. Its really exciting. Now Jessica and Sooyoung wont have to run
around the whole building trying to find me anymore (hehe). Sooyoung has to learn how to go a
little easier though. Its not like theres anything wrong with my ability to walk. Jessica may be a pain
but she understands me more

I was walking back from Jessicas check-up again. She just doesnt take no for an answer. Oh I found
two lollipops from Sooyoungs secret stash. I gave one to Tiffany one. Turned out she got my
favourite flavour. So I stole it from her (kekeke). Her face was just priceless! Anyway, we went to the
spring fair after that. A kind lady gave us a bleeding heart flower. The name sounds a little
depressing Well be able to see it bloom soon though. Hwaiting
Tiffany smiled as she looked up at the flower

Tiffany has a heart donor now! So excited but worried at the same time. Dont think the worse,

usual. On the way home we stopped by the beach. How I miss playing on that beach. I wish I could

Tiffanys eyes immediate opened wide as she brought the diary closer to her eyes and reread the last
few lines. She quickly skipped a few more pages and read on

friends. Oh, diary, I have to tell you about the bleeding hearts plant. One of its flowers bloomed. It is
really daebak. Its pink and is heart shaped. You have to see it to believe it. One of the most beautiful
flowers Ive ever seen!
Tiffany frowned
*What was her confession?* Tiffany thought determinedly to herself
Its a few more days until Tiffanys surgery. My parents called me this morning. They asked me to
spend some time with them. I really miss Hayeon and Oppa. They are rarely in the country. It hurts. I
remember how lonely it was here, constantly finding Jessica and Sooyoung to chase away my
loneliness. Thats all a thing of the past now. I have Tiffany beside me now. I must be really fortunate
to have her with me. Once Tiffany starts her surgery I will pay my parents a visit.
Just then Tiffanys phone rang. Tiffany jumped with surprise as the diary dropped to the floor.

since she thought it was too much of a hassle.

Taeyeons smile grew, but not by a lot, as she admired the bracelet

Tiffany turned her head to see the exact same ice cream parlour in her dreams in the exact same
place.

Tiffany picked up her pace and started jogging. No cars were driving at that time and she regretted
taking Taeyeon out so much during that time.
Taeyeon Everything is going to be okay I promise Tiffany said quickly

Tell me later Tiffany quickly interrupted as she leaned over so Taeyeon wouldnt fall off

She let out a sigh as she kissed the cover of the book and put it into a box. Tiffany the closed the box,
which contained Taeyeons wishes, diary, pens and cranes, and put it back into the small hole in a
tree. The tree was right beside the beach and the box, which was in the tree, was facing the morning
sunrise

Sunrise was due in half an hour
Tiffany was calmly walking along the beach with her hands in her pockets as the cold wind blew
For the past year Tiffany had been walking up and down the same beach. She never got sick of it as
she had a reason to visit everyday
From the side of her eye she could see the suns rays slowly lighting up the sky. She was approaching
her destination as the sun came into view
The old tree which was lonesome by itself on the side of the beach, facing the morning sunrise each

She took a deep sigh as she faced the rising sun and closed her eyes

As her hand was still held up she saw something stumbling in the background
Tiffany lowered her hand and squinted towards the direction of the unidentified object that was
stumbling on the beach
She took a step closer when suddenly the figure collapsed on to the floor
Oh my god Tiffany exclaimed as she started running to the person who had collapsed
The wave washed up against the unconscious persons body. Moving it slightly towards the sea again
Tiffany quickly bent over towards the limp body and grabbed onto the arm and threw it over her
shoulder as she carried the person back to a safer place.
Dj vu hit Tiffany as she remembered Taeyeons last birthday.
She decided to shake that memory as she place the unconscious body down near the tree. As she
pulled the arm down and moved back she gasped.
The unconscious person was a girl.
Not just any girl.
But a girl who looked exactly like Taeyeon
Tiffany froze up as she took a good look at the girl.
The girl then started leaning over and toppling over. Tiffany quickly caught the girl before she could
land herself into the ground again. The girls cheeks were as cold as ice when they brushed against
Tiffanys hand.
Disregarding her thoughts Tiffany took off her extra coat and wrapped it around the girl before
pulling her arms around her neck, pulling the girl onto her back
Lets get you cleaned up Tiffany grunted as she started marching back up the beach
Tiffany slowly approached her home which she had just recently bought with the purpose of it being
right beside the beach
As Tiffany approached the door she felt around her pockets to find her keys. As she looked to the
left her lips lightly brushed against the girls cheek. Tiffany couldnt help but jump a little with shock,
thinking that she saw Taeyeon again
Grandma grandpa the girl mumbled slightly
Tiffany just shook her head and took out her key as she put it into the door. She opened the door
and walked in to slowly put the unconscious girl down onto the couch nearest to her. She then went
off into the kitchen to get a wet cloth and put it on the girls forehead
Tiffany paused as her eyes slowly trailed down. The girl was still wet from the salt water. Worried
that she might catch a cold, Tiffany went to find some clothes that would fit the girl. As she came out
of her room with the spare clothes and stood in front of the girl, she paused.
Errm Tiffany whispered as she wondered how she was going to change the girl without being
embarrassed
*Shes a girl just like you. Dont worry. No one will ever know* Tiffany encouraged herself as she
took a few deep breaths
Slowly Tiffany reached her hand out towards the girl, carefully taking the clothes off, one by one.
She tried her best not to look while changing her but she was worried that her hands mightve
touched some places which wouldve made the situation even more awkward. After managing to
strip the girl, Tiffany carefully tried to put the clothes back on, hoping that the girl wouldnt have
regained her consciousness during the short period of time.
Finally Tiffany managed to take the girls out of her clothes and into new dry ones. She picked up the
wet clothes and started heading to the laundry to put it away when she noticed something familiar
about the clothes.
She held the clothes up to get a good look at them. They were definitely familiar but she could not
remember where she saw them. Shrugging off the idea she proceeded to putting it into the washing
machine, taking anything that might be still working from the pockets. As she dug her hand in, she
felt something plastic inside. Thinking that it mightve been important she pulled it out, slowly
revealing what seemed to be a plastic cover.
Putting the clothes down into the machine she pressed a few buttons and put a bit of detergent in
before turning to the small plastic thing in her hand. She took a closer look to see some colour inside
the plastic.
I should probably dry it out Tiffany said to herself as she tried to take the object out of the plastic
cover
She gasped as the object was removed
Luckily the object was not damaged by the salt water and remained relatively dry. What made
Tiffany gasp was what the object was.
It was a bleeding hearts flower.
She slowly put the plastic cover beside her as she laid the flower into the palm of her hand. Tiffany
brought it up closer to her face as she examined it closer. It was indeed a bleeding hearts flower,
similar to the one she and Taeyeon had been given during the festival
*Brings back memories* Tiffany chuckled as she put it back into the plastic cover again.
Grandma! a sudden yell came from the lounge
Tiffany quickly put the flower and the plastic cover into her pocket as she ran to see what was going
on. As she ran into the lounge room she saw that the girl was conscious again, sitting there with a
scared look on her face as she was tugging onto the collar of her shirt.
The girl looked up slowly to face Tiffany; her face was struck with fear as she quickly backed up to
the side of the couch.
Calm down Tiffany reassured as she slowly lifted up her hands

The girl crawled up into a ball in the corner of the couch as she stared at Tiffany warily
Im not a bad person. You fell unconscious near the beach so I took you back to my place. No need
to worry Tiffany said slowly as she took a step closer
D-Dont come any closer the girl stuttered as she held her arm at Tiffany
Tiffany immediately stopped and stood there carefully. The girl seemed to relax a little to see Tiffany
a safe distance away from her. Suddenly she brought her hand up to her head as it started to throb
in pain.
Tiffany slowly walked up to the table in front of the couch and nudged the packet of painkillers and a
cup of water closer towards the girl
Take these Tiffany offered as she took a step back again
The girl slowly looked up at the pills on the table but shook her head firmly, rejecting Tiffanys offer.
Tiffany nodded, understanding that she probably didnt trust her completely yet.
I will make you some food to eat. Feel free to wonder around Tiffany patted her knees as she got
up and headed for the kitchen again
The girl sat there. Her head still throbbing.
She couldnt remember anything. Who she was, where she was, why she was here and what was she
doing there.
All that she remembered was the image of her grandmother and grandfather slowly disappearing.
Who am I? She whispered to herself as she held her head, trying to remember
Tiffany was in the kitchen preparing the girl some food. It was when she was finished and about to
call the girl that she realised that she did not know who the girl was. She decided then to bring the
food out to her and set it on the table in front of the curled up girl.
I made you some food. Please at least eat something. I swear Im not going to hurt you Tiffany
beckoned as she pushed the tray across the table
The girl looked up from her hands and at the food. Her stomach growled loudly.
Her cheeks flushed a bright red as Tiffany giggled at the girls embarrassment.
Slowly she reached her hand out to grab the bowl of porridge and the spoon next to it. One by one
she held each spoonful to her mouth, swallowing down and filling up her stomach
Tiffany rested her elbow against the table and her cheek against her palm as she smiled at the girl.
By the way, I didnt catch your name Tiffany suddenly said
The girl paused as she slowly put the spoon down again. Swallowing the last remains in her mouth as
she slowly looked up at Tiffany
Tiffany turned her head to the side expectantly
I I dont know the girl uttered slowly
Tiffany blinked a few times with confusion
Its okay if you dont want me to know. I just want something to call you by Tiffany gave a warming
smile
The girl shook her head
I Really dont know I dont remember she repeated
Oh Tiffany said slowly, realising the dilemma she was in
The girl slowly put the bowl down again and sighed
Well worry about that later. How about you get cleaned up? You must be sticky from all that salt
water. I only changed your clothes sorry about that. Tiffany let out an awkward smile
The girl just nodded shyly
Come. Ill show you to the bathroom. Ill get some new clothes for you Tiffany offered as she held
out her hand
The girl reluctantly reached her hand out to grab Tiffanys as she was led into the house and into the
bathroom.
Ill leave your clothes here. Make yourself comfortable Tiffany reassured
Sorry for the trouble the girl apologised
Tiffany just smiled and shook her head
No trouble at all. You seem a lot like my friend so it doesnt matter
The girl just nodded shyly as she grasped the collar of her shirt

A picture then flashed in her mind

Tiffany raised her eyebrow as she opened one of her eyes. She peered over to the fogged up mirror
before walking towards it. She used her arm to wipe the steam away from the mirror and found
herself in the mirror
What do you Tiffanys voice slowly trailed off as she turned around. She had thought that the girl
had moved or something while she cleaned the mirror, but she was still standing beside her.

Once again there was nothing but just her reflection

Tiffany blinked a few more times, wiping the mirror a few more times, looking back and forth

as she handed the girl her spare clothes
The girl just nodded lifelessly as she caught the clothes
Tiffany stood there, expecting the girl to move, but she didnt. Not wanting her to catch a cold
Tiffany carried her by the knees and back into her room.

*Theres no mirror in there luckily* Tiffany thought to herself with a sigh before closing the door

She then went over to her laptop which so happened to be outside her room. She turned it on and
started searching if there may be a reason behind all of this. Tiffany wasnt worried as she knew
there was a logical explanation to everything. Besides there wasnt much that could make her break
down easily. Shes had enough of that before
The loud alarm from Tiffanys phone went off. Slowly peeling her face off of the keyboard Tiffany
reached around for her phone. She opened her eyes tiredly as she checked the time.
4:32am
Tiffany got up and stretched.
Time to visit Tae again Tiffany mumbled as she rubbed her eyes.
Her eyes then fell to her pillow of that night, her laptop.
*OH RIGHT* Tiffany remembered as she ran to her room to see how her guest was going
Tiffany opened the door slightly, not wanting to disturb the girl
She crept in over to the bed and bent over, expecting to see a sleeping girl there. To her surprise she
saw nothing but a bunch of pillows.
What the Tiffany whispered as she pulled the blanket down

Tiffany then looked around her room to see her bedroom window open with a sticky note stuck onto
its frame. She walked up slowly and yanked the piece of paper off her window frame

Tiffany sighed as she folded the note up neatly and placed it on her table. She honestly wanted to
find that girl again but she didnt even know where to look.

Tiffany had to bring an extra coat on to keep herself warm as she approached the tree that she

seem to have any shoes and didnt seem to be wearing very warm clothing

As the whole body came into view, Tiffany froze.
It was the girl, wearing her own clothes, sleeping beside the tree
Taeyeon Tiffany accidently let her voice trail out of her mouth
The girl stirred as she slowly waked up, shivering at the cold air surrounding her. As she slowly
turned around to face Tiffany she jumped with surprise
Wh-What are you doing here? she stuttered nervously as she pushed herself back away from
Tiffany
Tiffany just gave a soft smile as she took off her extra jumper and handed it to the girl
Its cold. Make sure you wear it Tiffany chuckled as she stood up again
The girl sat there dumbfounded as she watched Tiffany reach towards the box in the tree. Tiffany
took out a book and started writing something in it. As the two were focusing on the book, no one
noticed the wind blowing the box against the tree.
The box slowly tipped over and started falling to the floor, the papers inside falling everywhere. The
box then landed on top of the girls head upside down, letting everything fall out and fly away with
the wind
Oh no! Tiffany exclaimed as she tried to stop the papers from blowing everywhere
But whats done is done. The wishes and letters were all flying away towards the sea
Tiffany sighed as she fell to her knees, dropping the diary and pen
The girl peeked from under the box, using her hand to hold it up as she stared at Tiffany. Tiffany
seemed to be almost in tears as she watched the sun slowly rise with pieces of paper landing on the
ocean
Taeyeon Tiffany whispered sadly
The girl felt her head throb. Thinking that it was from the impact of the box, she brought her hand
up and tried to suppress the pain
Im sorry about the box the girl apologized sincerely as she took the box off with her other hand.
Tiffany just remained silent.
I-Im really, really sorry she apologised again
Tiffany just sighed and shook her head
Its not your fault Maybe I shouldve moved on Tiffany whispered
The girl just looked up sadly at Tiffany. She felt her heart clench at the sight of a broken down girl in
front of her
She suddenly felt something on the top of her head. She reached her hand up to take it down. It was
a sticky note

that were still around them. She managed to keep two cranes, one sticky note and three diary
entries. She then knelt down beside Tiffany again and put the box in Tiffanys lap.
Tiffany just smiled sweetly at the girl as she held the box in her hand.
Feeling as though she hadnt done enough, the girl reached into her pocket and pulled out the
plastic cover with the bleeding hearts flower inside.
I dont remember where I got this But I want you to have it the girl said nervously as she dropped
the flower into the box
Oh no I cant Tiffany quickly defended as she picked it up again
The girl shook her head as she held down Tiffanys arm
I dont know who I am, or where I come from. I dont even have my own reflection the girl
chuckled sympathetically. But if I give this to you, at least there is evidence that I exist

The onyx orbs were gleaming sincerely.

Hearing a clink against her wrist, Tiffany looked down as her eye caught onto the bracelet
She smiled as she put the box beside her and lifted up her wrist to take the bracelet off. The girl
