    Personal Vision Statement

    I am an eternal student of life who inspires and is inspired by others.


    My love of life and passion for learning are contagious. I leave a mark
    on this earth and in the hearts of people.

    Personal Mission Statement

    I do not let fear hold me back.


    I meet challenges head on and with confidence.
    I don't procrastinate, I don't make excuses, and I don't give up.
    I integrate new technology into my personal and professional life.
    I lead others when necessary and let them lead me when need
    be.
    I learn languages, I travel, and I am a student of the world.
    I respect different people, cultures, countries, and belief systems.
    I am open-minded, I listen, and I am willing to change.
    I make mistakes and I can laugh at myself.

    My Schools Vision Statement


    We are committed to providing a quality, standards-based education
    supported through the integration of technology across the curriculum.
    We will lay down a strong academic foundation which is applicable to
    students personal lives. Our Magnet program will provide a curriculum
    that is rigorous for each student and will prepare them for lifelong
    learning.

    My Schools Mission Statement


    Montara Elementary Math/Science/Technology Magnet is dedicated to
    the achievement and advancement of all students. Our mission is to
    educate students in a positive school culture to become responsible,
    productive and lifelong learners in an advancing technological and
    multicultural society.

    How do my personal vision and mission compare with those of my


    school and how do I fit into it all?

    First of all, in comparing my personal mission statement with my


    schools, I feel my mission statement is much more specific, goaloriented, and focused on the actions I will take to make my personal
    vision a reality. On the other hand, my schools mission statement is
    vague and generalized and does not include action words that
    explicitly describe how the schools vision will be actualized. In
    addition, while my vision statement describes my vision for myself
    starting right now, the schools vision is written in the future tense,
    which, as discussed in class, allows the staff to put our goals off until
    some unknown future date. As part of the Magnet staff, I would like to
    work on revising our vision and mission to reflect the specific actions
    we will take to make our vision a reality.
    I see that an important component of my schools vision and mission
    are to create lifelong learners of our students. I think my vision of
    myself as an eternal student with a passion for learning fits perfectly
    into my schools goals. As a teacher who wants to inspire my students,
    I think that I need to be passionate about learning and be a model for
    my students that learning is a continuous process that lasts a lifetime.
    I hope that my enthusiasm in the classroom when I learn something
    new is contagious and that the students will be equally excited when
    learning new concepts and ideas.
    Another, and to me the most important, component of our Magnet
    schools vision is that a quality education will be provided through the
    integration of technology across the curriculum. The integration of
    technology into my teaching is a huge goal of my professional career
    and it is in this realm that I hope to inspire my colleagues and leave a
    mark on my school. As I will be assuming a new position as a
    technology leader in the new school year, I hope to make my passion
    for learning and integrating new technology contagious amongst the
    staff. It is a daunting task indeed, but I am committed to my mission
    to face this challenge head on and with confidence. Through this
    career opportunity alone, I believe I have a real chance to make my
    personal vision a reality.
