SETUP
Each player takes a set of player tokens and a reference chart. Place The Glacier in the center, randomly place all the
single-hex tiles around it, then randomly place all the double-hex tiles around them, and then place a triple-hex home
base tile for each player around the board. Place an exploration tile on each hex on the board, except on home bases.
Randomly choose a starting player. That player receives 8 berries, then each player going clockwise receives 3 more
rubium than the previous player.
TURN SEQUENCE (Do all the following steps on your turn, in this order.)
1. BUY UNITS. Purchase as many units as you want, placing them on any space of your home base tile.
2. MOVE UNITS. All units can move 1 space, unless otherwise specied. A unit must stop when it enters a space occupied by
enemy units. If a unit begins its turn on a contested space, it may retreat to an empty space or to a space controlled by that player.
3. REVEAL EXPLORATION TILES. If a unit ends its turn on a space with a face-down exploration tile, it is turned face up. The
player places any Berry Bush markers or units specied on the exploration tile into that space. Discard the exploration tile.
4. CONDUCT BATTLES. Conduct battles in any contested space on the board. Units attack in order of battle, from the leftmost
unit (Gigantodon) to the rightmost unit (Monkey). All Gigantodons roll to attack rst, then all Tigers roll to attack, etc., until all
units in the space have attacked. Both players simultaneously make an attack roll for each unit they have of that type. To succeed
on an attack roll, you must roll equal to or higher than the HITS ON number listed for that unit. For each successful attack roll,
the opponent chooses a unit from that space to destroy. If a destroyed unit hasnt attacked yet, it does not get a chance to do so.
Once all units have attacked, the battle is over, even if units still remain. If there are more than two players in a space, choose one
player to battle with, ignoring other players units. A player wins a battle if he attacks and destroys all the defenders units in that
space. A player loses if all his units are destroyed in a battle. If you lose a battle on someone elses turn, draw 1 Energize card. If
neither player wins a battle, and units remain, the space is considered a contested space.
5. HARVEST BERRIES. For each space with a Berry Bush that you control, you receive the amount of Berries specied if you
have at least 1 Monkey, Man, or Woman on that space. You cannot receive Berries if the space is contested.
6. DRAW 1 SECRET MISSION CARD. Draw 1 Secret Mission card. If you meet its requirements on this turn you may play it
immediately. Otherwise, keep all Secret Mission cards in your hand until you meet its requirement. They can only be played on
your turn. If you control The Glacier, draw 2 Energize cards.
CARDS
ENERGIZE CARDS. Energize cards may be played either at the start of a players turn or during a battle, depending on which is
specied on the card. Any player may play Energize battle cards, even those not involved in the battle. The attacker goes rst in
playing Energize battle cards, then the defender, then clockwise from the defender.
SECRET MISSION CARDS. As soon as you fulll the requirements listed on a Secret Mission card on your turn, you may place it
face-up in front of you. Most Secret Mission cards are fullled during or after a battle. For each battle won, a player may only ever
play 1 red Secret Mission card. There is no limit to the amount of gray Secret Mission cards a player may play on their turn. A
Win-a-Battle card may be played whenever you win a battle, so long as you dont play a red Secret Mission card for that battle.
Anytime on your turn, you may discard any Energize cards or Secret Mission cards in your hand for 1 Berry each.
END OF GAME
The game ends immediately when a player has 12 victory points.
The game also ends when any one player is eliminated from the game because their last unit was destroyed, they
have no Berries left, and they have no cards that they can discard for Berries. Of the remaining players, the player with
the highest total victory points is the winner. Ties are broken by whoever has control of the most spaces on the board;
and a further tie is broken by whoever has the most units on the board.
