COURSE SYLLABUS IN BASIC DRAFTING (TLE 101)
Second Semester, School Year 2013-2014
Course Description:
The course introduces to students the fundamental elements in drafting. The course includes standards in
learning, drawing lines, orthographic projection, and pictorial drawings. It also includes the fundamentals in dimensioning
and sectioning.
Course Credit:

4 units (lecture and laboratory)

Contact Hours/Semester:

72 hours

Terminal Competencies:
At the end of the course, the students are expected to:
A. Learn the different pencil techniques in technical sketching.
B. Acquire skill in sketching orthographic, isometric, oblique and perspective drawings.
C. Gain skills in preparing working sketches of objects.
D. Observe health and safety practices in sketching working drawings.
E. Manifest the ability to recognize the relation of working drawings to shop processes.
F. Develop the ability to recognized and practice good drawing techniques with implements on desirable
drawing habits
