For making joint ,
ALWAYS KEEP JOINT BETWEEN TWO KEYED STRIPS ( ON
PLAIN STRIP, CENTER OF JOINT SHOULD BE ON PLAIN
STRIP & MARK MUST BE ON THE CENTER OF TOP
STRAND TRANSPOSITION)
Do the marking with pencil (Non graphite)on the conductor
2.
Now pull conductor back such that marking on the stand. As
shown in fig.
Winding
side
Bobbin
side
3.
Now arrange CTC cutting jig on the table.
Then arrange CTC conductor into the jig such that the marking
comes at center of the cutting slot on the jig. As shown in the
fig.
Then tight the conductor with horizontal wing screw bold .as
shown in the fig.
4.
Now close upper side arms of jig. And tight the vertical wing
screw bold as shown in fig.

5.
Now arrange the cutting jig saw in the base provided for
it.
Then cut the CTC conductor as shown in the fig.
6.
Now before removing insulation pl. glue the rest part ( stick
adhesive tape ) at approximately 150 mm from the cut on each
side of conductor for the smooth operation of enamel remover.
7.
Tie the ribbon to the first transposed strand conductor for
reference marking for joint making.
8
Now remove all the insulation over the CTC conductor
Split the strands.

9.
Arrange EPOXY (ENAMEL) remover (stripper) nearer to
this conductor.
10.
Now remove the insulation ( epoxy+enamel) by
INSULATION REMOVER as shown in the fig.
11.
Repeat the same for all strands.
12.
Do marking on new conductor to be braze

13.
Arrange conductor into the cutting zig same as previous
cut conductor.
NOTE: CONDUCTOR MUST CUT IN SAME
DIRECTION AS WINDING CONDUCTOR CUT.
14.
End of the first conductor to be wrapped such that there
should not be any sharp edges which could injure your
hand while working.
15.
Now repeat 6 to 9 steps for cleaning conductor.
14.
Now strands to be brazed clamped such that there should
be max. 0.8 mm gap( 0.5 to 0.8 mm) between to
conductor.
Then apply fluxing agent (Make: BRAZE TECH-H, with
brush only) on these two conductor at the joint making
area ( To avoid oxidation)
NOTE : ALWAYS STARTS MAKING JOINT FROM
BOTTOM TRANSPOSED STRAND OF THE CTC (
AS PER ACTUAL TRANSPOSITION) & FINISHED
WITH TOP TRANSPOSED STRAND.

15.
Now light the brazing torch adjust the flame as per
requirement
Then heat the fluxing area at joint. Take silver brazing
filler rod ( 44 % silver ) and fill at the joint as shown in the
fig.
16.
Apply water with the help of brush on the joint which
cools conductor and not allows deposition of carbon on
conductor surface. Also on the clamp for rapid cooling.
NOTE:
Due to heating the copper conductor expands therefore
before applying water on Clamp and conductor, loose the
one of the wing nut of the clamp so that there will be not
be crack due to grain position change.
17.
Now file the conductor with first rough and then with fine
file. Then smooth the conductor with the help of emery
paper.
Check the smoothness of the conductor by gentle
touching it with fingers.

18.
Now for checking the joints strength first bend up side
and check visually bend from top and bottom.
19.
Now, again repeat the same and bend the conductor down
side and check visually bend from top and bottom.
20.
Now do insulation with hostaphan paper 70 mm on each
side of the joint, total 140 mm and paste it with LOCTITE401. ( Cover all the bare conductor)
hostaphan
insulation
21.
Repeat the same for all the strands of the CTC conductor.

22.
Fig shows all the conductor brazed and arranged
completely.
23.
Now insert insulation paper into the two side of the
conductor as shown in the fig.
24.
Now Insulate 2 layers of Craft paper with half over lap and
1 layer of Crepe paper with half overlap and finally two
layers of Craft paper with half overlap.
(Insulation must be sufficient as per design sheet.)
25.
Now check the short test with help of tester as shown in
the fig.
