(1)An object is dropped from a tower of height 125 m. If it takes 0.2 second to
cross a window of height 1.2 m in the tower then find out height of window
from the ground

Q.12.

A terrorist places a bomb at a horizontal distance of 6 m from the

foot of building of height 8 m. When the bomb explodes its fragments fly
in all directions with a velocity upto 20 m/s. Find how long a man on the
top of the building will be in danger. (g = 10 ms -2)

Sol.: Let u be the velocity and the angle of projection for a fragment reaching
the man. According to the question the greatest value of u can be 20 m/s.
If t be the time taken by this fragment to reach the man, then considering
the horizontal and vertical motions of the fragment,
6 = (u cos)t

it turns back and meets the raft again at a distance 6 km from A. Find the
velocity of river in (km/hr).

which are at a distance 2a apart. Show that the time of passing between the walls is

(6) A particle is projected horizontally with velocity 10

acceleration 10 m/s2 vertically upward as shown.

(7) A ball is projected, so as to just clear two walls, the first of height 12 m at a
distance 6 m from point of projection and the second of height 6 m at a
distance 12 m from point of projection. Find the range (in metre) of
projectile.

(8) A stone is thrown from a tower of height 50 m with velocity 30 m/s at an
angle 300 from horizontal. Find its time of flight and range. [5s]

(9) A ball is thrown with a velocity of 10 m/s at an angle of 45o with the horizontal. It just clears two
walls of height 90 cm each. Taking g = 10m/s2 , find the separation between the walls.
(10) A particle of mass m,charge q is projected with velocity v0 at an angle with the horizontal. If
the electric field in the vertically downward direction is E = E0y . Considering the region to be
gravity free and the particle to be projected from origin, find the time of flight.
