Student Teacher: Caitlin Gilmore Report Writer: S. Martinuk,

Clifford Intemational Subject Grade 3 all subjects

School:
Area/Grade:
Cooperating Sarah Martinuk Block # Spring Block 2
Teacher(s):

Date: April28,2016 Final Grade: Pass * Fail

Caitlin has been able to show significant growth through out her time spent at
Clifford lnternational School. Her lessons and instruction show a variety of activities
for many types of learners, using various teaching methods (whole group instruction,
small group instruction, rotating stations, hands on activities, research projects, etc).
She is well organized and has effective long term and short term planning. Her
Iessons are clearly related to curricular outcomes, and her lesson scope fits within
the students abilities, strengths and weaknesses. Caitlin uses technology regularly in
her lessons and takes advantage of the smartboard, document cam, etc. She has
been keeping regular assessment from assignments and homework given to
students, and has plans for summative assessment in Math, ELA and Social Studies.
,e informally circulates and observes students while they are working, and has a
good idea of their abilities and progress.

Caitlin has begun to flt in wett with the teaching community and school itself.
Professionally, she has collaborated with another student teacher to provide
continuity with the other grade 3 class, as well as with the library teacher on a cross
curricular project. Additionally, Caitlin, along with 3 other student teachers, has
given up several lunch periods to provide all interested elementary students with
grade level appropriate opportunities to dance, learn tae bo, play bingo, etc. She has
also sat in on staff meetings, and helped supervise at recess.

Caitlin is working towards creating and consistently implementing a classroom

management plan. She is becoming more observant and attentive while multitasking
and micromanaging. However, consistently implementing a clearly outline behavior
plan (either her own, or following the norma! plan in class) will help her with this.

>he has had persona! goals of time management within her Iessons to make sure her
teacher talk time doesn't exceed the student's abilities to listen attentively. Caitlin
has shown improvement with this, and is now working on her verbal instructions of
speaking dynamically, clearly and slowly, as it is imperative when giving instructions
to !anguage learners. She seeks out, accepts and implements feedback from her
l^ssons, to help her grow in her own professional abilities.

Caitlin has been an important asset in our Grade 3 classroom, and we have been
lucky to have her! She has met expectations in all areas of her practice.
