Stacy Indianer Recommendation Letter 2 Spring 2017
Im pleased to recommend to you, Stacy Indianer, as a talented special education teacher. As her
MSU field instructor, I have been impressed by Stacys thorough preparation and dedication to her
students during her general education and special education internship experiences in early
elementary education with the Farmington Hills School District, Farmington Hills, Michigan. She
always strives for excellence as she prepares lessons for her students and prepares herself to be an
excellent educator.
Stacy has a genuine affection for and understanding of her students and with her consideration of
their unique needs, she has prepared a variety of lessons in areas of reading, mathematics and a
literacy inquiry unit. During her general education internship within a first grade classroom, Stacy
taught reading, mathematics, developed writing strategies for effectively teaching writing to first
grade students, as well as engaging them with social studies instruction based on different ethnic
celebrations.
Currently, as a special education intern teacher, she is implementing ReadWell reading curriculum
for a small groups of readers, ranging from kindergarten to 5th grade students. She also works with
groups of math and writing students. She has individualized instruction and students are
experiencing significant skill improvement.
While devoting much of her time and efforts directly into her classroom experiences, Stacy has been
involved along with her special education mentor teacher with planning IEP meetings for students.
She is also involved with delivering instruction based on these meetings.
While actively working in their teaching placements, MSU interns participate in master level
education classes as well as the Friday Internship Seminar throughout the year. Stacy faithfully
participates in all aspects of her classes. She is eager to use the well researched projects with her
students.
College of In addition to her MSU teacher preparation courses, before entering her internship year, Stacy has
Education worked internationally as an English educator in Israel, participated in an MSU South African Study
Abroad program with a focus on education, worked as a camp counselor and worked as a classroom
Department of assistant in a cognitively impaired classroom. Her dedication to the teaching profession and special
Counseling, education teaching program in particular, is exemplary.
