Universal Design for Learning (UDL):
Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity. Prior to the SRT activity, students will rotate to different stations in groups. At each station
there will be an activity that the group has to complete to gain knowledge about the American Revolution to
help them answer the Kahoot questions for the formative assessment piece. There will be 5 stations in total
and 5 groups in total.

Students will compete a graphic organizer about when, what, and who was involved with the Boston Tea
Party. Student will have the option of drinking tea while reading about the Boston Tea Party as a way to
remember the event.

Students will watch this video on the French and Indian War and complete the graphic organizer describing
the who, what, when, where, and why of the war.

Station 3:

Students will read this brief article about the stamp act as well as complete the Graphic organizer. When they
complete it they will stamp the top of their paper to show that they completed it and as a way to remember
the stamp act.

Students at this station will create a timeline showing when the war started, one important act and when it
was enacted, when George Washington was appointed as Commander in chief, the Boston Tea Party, when
the Declaration of Independence was written, and when the Boston Massacre was.

Students will watch this video while completing their graphic organizers about the Daughters of liberty.

During the SRT activity we would be using iPads or other smart devices to answer the Kahoot question. The
students will use their notes from the activities to help them answer the questions. To be fair, I will remove
the time limit so that students have time to find the answers to the Kahoot questions.

I will preselect the correct answers to all of the questions and allow the students to see the correct answers
so that they can see how they did and what areas they may need to improve in.

After the SRT activity

How will the data be used? I will use the data to inform my teaching practices and determine which areas I
could clearly teach the material and areas that I may need to review based on the number of students who
make or miss an answer. I can also see which students may be struggling overall with the content and pull
them into small group time to address their needs.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. My goal for this activity is to use an exciting way to
formatively assess my students rather than simply giving them a quiz. This will also help me determine what
content needs to be retaught.

Reflective Practice: I think with the activities in this lesson allow the students to get an understanding of each
of the components that contributed to the revolution and looking at the details of each of the highlighted
events. One way technology could be enhanced for this lesson is allowing students to create a timeline on
