6 Heisenberg Model
The classical ground state is a spiral wave for J2> J1/4. As J ~ / J increases,
I
a gradually decreases from T towards n/2.
The Nkel-to-spiral transition predicted for the classical limit is destabilized
by quantum fluctuations. For S = 1/2, the quantum transition is between a
spin liquid and a dimer phase (see Sec. 6.3.2). Let us observe that studying the
classical limit does not give any hint of dimerization; the dimer order described
in Sec. 6.3.2 is a purely quantum phenomenon.
