• Design a ladder diagram for a simple
cylinder control. Pressing the start button
will actuate the solenoid valve that will fully
extend and retract the cylinder. The
following response will be detected using
two limit switches.

double acting cylinder in a continuous
cycle operation (fully extend and retract)
upon actuation. Using two line sensors will
sense the fully retracted and extended
positions. Make the relay ladder diagram.

open and close a garage door. In opening
the gate, the motor will run in forward
direction and only stop if the upper limit
switch is reached. In closing the garage
door, the motor will run in reverse direction
and only stop if the lower limit switch is
reached.

1. Design a relay ladder diagram that will satisfy the
following conditions:
- Three limit switches were used in Anxiety Level Alarm
a. Digital Switch
b. Fabrication Switch
c. Math Switch
- Green indicator lamp will only be activated if one of the
three switches were triggered.
- Yellow indicator lamp will only be activated if either of
the two of the three switches were triggered.
- Red indicator lamp will only be activated if all of the
three switches were triggered.

2. Without using a proximity sensors, design
a relay ladder diagram that will use a
single switch to control a cylinder.
Pressing the switch will fully extend the
cylinder piston and pressing it again will
return the piston to its normal position.
