teacher through continuous training. I will include my five-year plan and what will be

creating a five-year plan, it maps out what specific step need to be taken in order for everything

to be accomplished when I want it to be.

2022-2023 Year 5  Become a National Board-Certified Teacher
 Continue to update my PDQP

For year one, I will complete my Masters degree, which has helped already with the

classes that I have taken with furthering my education in Best Practices. By completing my

Masters classes, it had given me additional tools to be successful as a teacher. I am also working

on clearing my California Teaching Credential through CTI, Center for Teacher Innovation,

program that is offered through my district. Through this program, I work closely with a mentor

teacher, who assists in anything that I have questions with and helps go through the different

steps needed to show that I am a qualified teacher. I will also be completing my first round of my

Professional Development Quest Portfolio, or ePortfolio. This portfolio will be helpful to

employers, administration, and parents or students to learn about how I use the different

California Teaching Performance Expectations in the classroom.

For year two, I will receive my Clear Teaching Credential after completing my second

year in CTI. I will again work with a mentor teacher to showcase my learning and teaching

accomplishments. I will also attend the AVID Summer Institute and be able to integrate the

strategies that I have learned into my classroom. I will also be able to update and add to my

PDQP as I gain more experience.

Year three, I will become a Google Educator, so I can become more proficient in all the

tools that Google offers for teachers and students. I will also work on mastering classroom

management strategies so that I can provide for all learner, including having flexible seating in

my classroom. Again, I will update and add to my PDQP, so I am able to showcase my

knowledge and understanding in the field of education.

In year four, I will work on restructuring what reading looks like in my classroom to

support readers of all levels, for example doing a book challenge and reading The Book

Whisperer by Donalyn Miller. The Book Whisperer goes into detail about how to successfully

work with all students, some of which may not like reading, to create students that want to read.

In addition to restructuring my reading plan, I will continue to add and adjust my PDQP.

Lastly for year five, I will work on becoming a Nationally Board-Certified Teacher. This

will give me more knowledge and in-site into what I need to do in order to continue working to

give my students the best that they deserve. I will extend my new knowledge into my PDQP and

adjust it as necessary.
