Wooden crate plans

Wendell K. Smith

1 square = 1 inch (Actual wood thickness is approx 3/4 inch)

Materials:
1 ea 1" X 12" X 8 Pine board
1 ea 1" X 6" X 24" pine board
1 ea 1" X 8" X 24" pine board
1 ea 1" X 2" X 8' fir
1 ea 1" X 3" X 8' fir
1 pound #6 X 1 1/2" finish nails
1 bottle carpenters glue

Cut lumber dimensions:


6 ea 1" X 2" X 12 3/4"
4 ea 1" X 3" X 12 3/8"
2 ea 1" X 3" X 7 3/4"
1 ea 1" X 6" X 23 1/2"
1 ea 1" X 8" X 23 1/2"
1 ea 1" X 12" X 20 1/2"
2 ea 1" X 12" X 11 1/4"
2 ea 1" X 12" X 22"

NOTE: 1 X 12 lumber is actually


3/4 X 11 1/4 This is figured into the
cut dimensions.

Directions: Glue and nail all boards


during construction. Attach ends to
bottom, then sides. Assemble ends
as shown. Attach cleats to bottom of
box. Assemble lid by gluing the
edges together, then attaching cleats.
Cut out the corners to fit. Paint as
desired.
