Before removing any individual modules, always switch the computer off first and
! disconnect it from the mains supply and remove all cables. After the main power cable
has been disconnected, discharge the remaining voltage by pressing the power on
button.
The workplace must be designed in accordance with the guidelines of the European
Federation of Trade Unions.
Only professional quality tools must be used.
■ Switch the computer off and pull the power plug out of the mains socket.
■ Remove the cables.
■ After the main power cable has been disconnected, discharge the remaining voltage by pressing the power on button.
■ Never use sharp objects such as screwdrivers, scissors or knives as leverage to remove covers.
Boards with electrostatic sensitive devices (ESD] are marked with the label shown.
When you handle boards fitted with ESDs, you must, under all circumstances, observe the following points:
■ You must statically discharge yourself before working with boards (e.g. by touching a grounded object].
■ The equipment and tools you use must be free of static charges.
■ Remove the power plug from the mains supply before inserting or removing boards containing ESDs.
■ Always hold boards with ESDs by their edges.
■ Never touch pins or conductors on boards fitted with ESDs.

► Push the locking device in the direction of the arrow (red arrow) and hold it in place.
► Push the slider in the direction of the arrow (yellow arrow) to release the battery.
► Lift up the battery (green arrow) and remove it.

► Push the ejector lever carefully and hold it in place (red arrow).
► Pull the module out of the module bay (green arrow).

► Unlock the RAM modules by pressing the latches sidewards (yellow arrows) and remove them (red arrow).

► Remove the HDD by pulling the right plastic sheet to the left side (yellow arrow).

► Remove the two screws (yellow circles) which are fixing the keyboard. [##
► Turn the device around.
► Gently loosen the plastic noses (yellow arrows) fixing the keyboard on the right using a plastic tool (e.g. a guitar plectrum) (red arrow).
To make this easier gently press on the keyboard from below through the modular bay (green arrow). This will help to loosen the
keyboard from the adhesive tapes in this area (see next page)
► Now the keyboard should be looser a bit in the right corner.

► Proceed loosen the plastic noses beginning at the right corner, where the first noses have been freed already (red arrow).
► Carefully loosen the rest of the keyboard by pushing beside the small plastic noses (yellow arrows).
► Gently lift up the keyboard (green arrow) until the keyboard cables can be disconnected.
► Be aware that the keyboard is fixed with double sided adhesive tape and the cables are still connected (red flash, see next picture for
location of the tapes and cables).

► Take care to ensure that the keyboards plastic backing does not become separated from the keyboard when disengaging it from the
adhesive tape!
► Prior to replacing the keyboard ensure that the existing adhesive tape is sticky. If no longer sticky or if any of the locations below are
missing tape, replace it. The tape can be ordered from spares with material no: 34047591.
► The picture above shows the correct placement of the adhesive tape (remember to remove the protective backing from the tape before
fitting the keyboard!)
