showcase their skills and talents and most importantly to develop diverse values which will surely
help them to grow as an individual.

JP: Thank you Bianca! And now to warm up our excitement! Let us all welcome a team composed of
the best dancers here at OLFAI. The team who brought us glory and success. The pride of OLFAI.

they’ve got.
Bianca: Indeed, partner. I am more than ready to see what every team has prepared it seems like
they are ablaze to perform and of course to win!
JP: Speaking of being ablaze partner, let us call in Rhea Vera Arrubio, our very own DACS
Taekwondo Gold Medalist, to light the Torch for us!

Bianca: Thank you, Dante. I know you are all excited to officially start the Intramurals 2016. So
without further Ado, Let us all welcome, our Directress/Principal, S. Ma. Celedonia F. Amper, RVM for
the Declaration of the Opening of the Intramurals 2018.

JP: Yes! We have officially started the Intramurals! This just gave me more thrills, partner.
Bianca: Indeed! Finally we will be able to start our Intramurals. And guess what event we will be
starting off? Yes! You’re right! The Field Demonstration and Cheerdance Competition!
JP: To cut off your excitement, prior to the event, the team moderators had their draw lots which
means that the sequence of the performers is not based on the Grade level. may we remind you of
the sequence of the team to perform. For the bracket A, we will be starting with the special
presentation from the Kindergarten, followed by the Field Demonstration of the Grade 2, then Grade 1
then last to perform will be the Grade 3.
Bianca: For the Bracket B, The first to perform will be the Grade 4 and 5, then last to perform will be
the Grade 6.
JP: For the Bracket C, The first to perform will be the Grade 8, followed by the Grade 10, then the
Grade 9, the Grade 7, then the last to perform will be the Senior High School. The following are the
mechanics and criteria for judging of the most-awaited Field Demonstration and Cheerdance
Competition. (reads the mechanics and criteria)

Naalala ko pa ang mga kuwento ng aking lola kung paano nakipagsapalaran ang mga
ilustrados upang itaguyod ang kapayapaan ng ating bansa. Sa gitna ng kanyang pagkukuwento, sa
likod ng kanyang mga mata na punong-puno pa rin ng mga buhay ay mga masalimuot na pangyayari
na kanyang naranasan sa kamay ng mga mananakop na dayuhan.
Ngunit sa kabila ng lahat ng iyon, sa kabila ng mga sigalot at pighati na unti-unting pumapatay
sa puso’t diwa nating mga Pilipino, may isang bayani na walang pagdadalawang-isip na itinaguyod
ang bansa tungo sa maliwanag na kinabukasan.
Siya ay walang iba kundi si Jose Abad Santos.
Si Jose Abad Santos ay ipinanganak noong 19 Pebrero 1886 sa San Fernando, Pampanga.
Siya ang ikapitong anak sa sampung mga anak nina Vicente Abad Santos at Toribia Basco. Ang
kanyang ama na naging juez de ganados ay namatay noong 1892 noong siya ay anim na taong
gulang pa lamang. Pagkatapos ng isang taon si Jose ay naging estudyante ni Calixto Arevalo.
Kumuha naman siya ng bagong guro na si Felix Dizon na gumagamit ng wikang Kastila sa pagtuturo.
Bagama’t biniyayaan si Santos ng karangyaan sa buhay, isang pribiliheyo na makapag-aral sa
ibang bansa, hindi kailanman nakalimutan ng kanyang nangungulilang puso ang bansang kanyang
sinilangan, ang bansang kanyang nilakihan, ang bansang humubog sa kanyang buong
pagkakakilanlan.
Dahan-dahan at unti-unti niyang napagtatanto na gaano man katayog ang marating ng
kanyang estado sa larangan ng edukasyon, mawawalan ng saysay ang kanyang pagiging Pilipino
kung hindi niya ito gagamitin bilang sandata sa pagkamit ng kalayaang minsan nilang tinatamasa.
Kaya bumalik siya sa Pilipinas at naging kawani sa Dibisyon ng Kagawaran ng
Tagapagpaganap na may buwanang sahod na 80 piso. Itinaas ito sa 100 piso noong 1 Enero 1910,
at naging 110 piso matapos ang isang taon. Kumuha siya ng bar exam noong 1910 ngunit hindi
nakapasa dahil tinalakay ang tungkol sa batas ng Espanya na taliwas sa kanyang natutunan sa batas
Amerika.
Nang umalis si Pangulong Manuel Quezon patungong Estados Unidos noong 17 Marso 1942,
si Abad Santos ang naging representante sa Pilipinas. Nahuli siya noong Mayo 1942 at napatay ng
mga Hapon sa Malabang, Lanao dahil sa pagtangging iaalay ang kanyang katapatan sa mga Hapon.
Ang kanyang pagkakapatay ay naging inspirasyon sa mga Pilipino.
At hindi lang dapat ditto mahinto ang mga bunga ng sakripisyong inialay ni Jose Abad Santos
alang-alang sa ating bansa at sa susunod na henerasyon. Tayo, bilang mga Pilipino, ay maging
katalismo ng pagbabago tungo sa kaunlaran at kapayapaan na matagal na nating minimithi. Tayo ay
dapat magtulung-tulungan dahil tanging sa pamamagitan lamang ng pagkakaisa, ating makakamit
ang isang bansa na hindi kayang buwagin ng anumang digmaan, hindi kayang tibagin ng anumang
bakal o sandata, at hindi kaya sirain anumang unos o alon ang sumagupa sa gitna ng ating
pakikipagsapalaran.
Maging tapat tayo sa ating pinagmulan, at siguradong tayo ay makakarating rin sa ating
paroroonan.
