GROUND RULES
1. Only (15) players are eligible to play
2. A team fielding an ineligible player shall lose the game by forfeit.
3. A game shall be forfeited if a team fails to field (5) eligible players 15 minutes after their
scheduled game.
4. Player must wear the prescribed uniform provided by the respective Academic Organization
for this game.
5. Undershirt (fitted) is allowed to wear.
6. The only people allowed to sit on the bench are those names who appear on eligibility list
including the Academic President and Sports Head and Officer-in-Charge.
7. No officials and/or players of a team shall approach any floor officials after their team’s game.
8. A player penalized for two (2) technical fouls or one (1) unsportsmanlike foul and/or
combination of both shall be withdrawn from the game but may play on his next team game.
Habitual offenders shall be disqualified from the tournament.
9. Player/s ejected from the game shall be automatically suspended on the game. Further
penalties may be imposed depending on the gravity of the offense committed. Player’s
ejected from the game twice shall be disqualified from the tournament.
10. Suspended player/s is/are not allowed to sit on the bench.
11. Teams forfeiting two (2) of its scheduled games upon the start of the tournament shall be
disqualified from the tournament.
12. A game shall be played 4 quarters (10 minutes per quarter, running time) during elimination
and semi-final game.
13. In case of force majeure (natural calamities). The following shall apply:
a. If force majeure occurred before the start of the game or during the first two
quarters of the game, the game shall be reset from the start of the first quarter;
the score, timeouts, fouls, etc. shall be void.
b. If the force majeure occurred in the last two quarters including extra period, the
game shall start at the same time the force majeure occurred. The score, timeouts,
fouls, etc. shall be valid.
14. The Rules are for strict compliance.

BREAKING TIES
The classification of the rules shall take precedence in case of ties.
NOTE: in case of tie or ties of two or more teams during the elimination round, the international rule
of breaking ties should apply. For every game won 2pts; game loss – 1pt; default – 0pt.
GROUND RULES
1. Only 1 player for singles 2 players for doubles are eligible to play. (for men and women)
2. The respective player from the doubles division may play in the singles division provided that
the organization has no player for singles division; if the organization has a player for the
singles divisions and the player is absent on the game day they will be defaulted from their
respective game and no other player shall play in lieu for that players position.

4. A game shall be forfeited if a team fails to field 1 (for single) or 2 (for doubles) eligible player/s
15 minutes after their scheduled game.
5. Player must wear the prescribed uniform provided by the respective Student Organization for
this game.

7. The player is the only authorized person to communicate with the floor officials in the matter
of clarification of the rules but not on the judgement of the floor officials.
8. No officials and/or players of a team shall approach any floor officials after their team’s game.
9. A player penalized for two (2) technical fouls or two (2) unsportsmanlike foul and/or
combination of both shall be withdrawn from the game but may play on his next team game.

badminton) during elimination and semi-final game and the championship game is 3 out of 5
sets.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
1. Competing team shall play a single-round robin.
2. After the single-round robin, Top 4 will be determined to play for Semi-finals.
