2nd Quarter

I. Objectives: At the end of 45 minute discussion, 85% of the students


should be able to:
A. compare living and non living things;
B. appreciate the importance of living things and non living
things through proper caring; and
C. classify living and non living things.

II. Subject Matter:


Topic: Compare living and non-living things
Reference: Grade 3 Science Textbook, pp.101-104,
Jesuitas, Gregorio L., et al. 2011
Materials: Cartolina, pictures
Code: S3LT-IIe-f-11
Learning Competency: Compare living with non-living
things.

III. Procedure:
A. Preliminary Activities
 Prayer
 Greetings
 Classroom Management
 Checking of Attendance
 Reminder
 Lesson Review - Ways of caring and proper handling of
plants
B. Lesson Proper
a.) Activity:
“Describe Me”
 The students will be divided into three (3) groups.
Each group will have different activity. The teacher
will provide different pictures in each group.

Group 1
Give at least two (2) characteristics in each picture
given by the teacher. Write your answer in a one
whole sheet of paper.

Group 2
Classify the pictures according to its characteristics.
Write your answer in a one whole sheet of paper.

Group 3
Compare and contrast the pictures using Venn
Diagram. Write your answer on the paper provided by
the teacher.

b.) Analysis :
The teacher will ask the following questions:

 What have you observed with our activities?


 Are there any similarities and differences with the
characteristics of those pictures?
 What do you think is our topic for this morning?

c.) Abstraction:
“Classifything”
 The students will be group into 3.
 They will be given another set of pictures.
 The students will classify the pictures if it is living or
non living thing.
 They will be given 3 minutes to finish the task.

d.) Application:
